PLAYER EVENT: GENESSIA CARNIVAL

The week of the carnival has arrived! With the combined effort of paid workers, volunteers, Azura, and those Azura decided were going to help her (Looking at you Fam), the setup has gone without a hitch. Those who come by the large park in Genessia City during the morning and afternoon of the 16th will see the carnival in various stages of completion. It isn't the sun starts to set and the sky begins to burn the colors of pink and orange with a topping of blue that the lights on the carnival tents and other structures come to life. THE CARNIVAL IS ON. It's clear that the carnival takes up almost all of the park; it's setup done so that the rides, attractions, booths and other assorted portions of the carnival are setup around ponds and lakes and take advantage of paths in the park. At the entrance are a myriad of food stalls, while the bigger rides are further in the back. In between are smaller attractions like games, but more importantly this is where all of the booths for the residents are set up. Several rows deep, the offerings here are wildly different and each engaging in its own way. Lastly, the larger attractions of the Carnival are organized in the large central portion of the carnival where a large area has been cleared and sectioned off in 4 large rectangles to house each with plenty of room. Faye - OTA
What a surprise - Faye is checking out the alcohol available. She isn't here to get wasted, but instead to sample new and unusual drinks. If there's a homemade beer she hasn't tried or an interesting cocktail on offer, then she'll have it. If you catch her after she's sampled a few, she'll greet you with a wink rather than her usual curt nod.
2. Attractions and Stalls
There's a lot going on here, and Faye is taking it all in. But while she is always very close to the action, she doesn't seem to be taking part or lining up for anything. Always just on the edge of fun, Faye might need a bit of an encouraging nudge to get stuck in.
3. Plays
Faye had no idea she was so into plays, but maybe the vibe of the day, and the fact she got a seat to rest in, help her to enjoy the acts. She will only applaud if she thinks it's deserved. Otherwise, she'll sit stoney faced and unimpressed. Orihime has done well, though, so that's one peformance that will get a true applause from her.

She doesn't really know Faye. She's seen her around the network, though, and she definitely remembers that conversation between Faye and drunk!Aizawa. It doesn't hurt to make a bit of conversation
and try to find out if a date ever happened."Hi! Having fun?"

"I've seen you around on the network but we've never been officially introduced. I'm Bulla."

His name is brought up innocently enough for now, but you can bet she's watching for reactions even as she's sipping her drink that's every bit as delicious as it looks.

"...did Mr. Aizawa never get around to asking you out? I thought when he and Smoker were drinking together that he might, but maybe he lost his courage."
no subject
Faye tensed and mumbled into her drink, still trying to sound as cool and distant as possible. "He will not be asking me out. Courage doesn't have anything to do with it..."
no subject
"I'm sorry. Did you talk about it with him?"

Mix of 2 & 3?
[It sounds like Orihime. But it looks more like she's being greeted by a pile of carnival food that grew legs and sentience. Naturally Orihime wants to try as much fair food as possible, and there's a lot to experience. There's about ten deep-fried items that should never go anywhere near a fryer, some bags of different flavored popcorn and caramel corn, and an assortment of cotton candy flavors too. Her head pops out from the side as she approaches.]
I got us some snacks! Want to watch one of the plays together?
[Since Orihime already got her moment in the spotlight (and how!), she isn't likely to be picked again. Besides, she wants to see what other people do.]
--Oh, but maybe I should have got a funnel cake too...
no subject
Okay. Let's go. But no, you do not need funnel cake too. Least, not until we've finished all of this lot first.
no subject
[There's no way all of this food could fit into Orihime's body. Probably not Faye's either. But the point isn't to just eat it all, it's to try it all. She might have gotten a bit ahead of herself, though.]
Okay, then I'll do my best! Let's try to get a seat near the front so we can see everyone's expressions. That's the funniest part!
[Relieved of a good deal of her burden, Orihime has a much easier time finding a decent seat, making sure to choose one where they can put the snacks between them and eat freely while they watch.]
Did you get called up for a play yet?
no subject
*But she is smiling, because why not get excited about food and have over the top fun at a carnival?*
That sounds fine with me.
*To be honest, she was happy to go with whatever Orihime wanted to do. Faye settles down the snacks in a seat between them and picks at some popcorn*
Ack - no. I don't think that's going to happen.
no subject
[She's already got half a chipmunk-cheek of popcorn that she's working on. She might not have supernatural metabolism, but she is a growing teenager, and she can easily eat a lot.]
I think they pick people based on their enthusiasm. Bakugou-san and I showed up in costumes and made intense eye contact while raising our hands as high as possible, and they definitely picked us, ha ha!
no subject
Of course you did - so young and in love and beautiful.
*She smiles at Orihime, like a proud older sister*

Deciding things are going well at this stall, and wanting a break, he almost takes the empty seat next to Faye. Then stops when she winks, confused.]
... Sorry. This seat is probably taken? [He assumes she winked to a date somewhere.]
no subject
The seat will be taken when you come sit with me.
*Then she motions to the empty seat and puts her glass down with an amused smile*
no subject
So he'll gladly take that seat. Heck. He'll even order alcohol for once, so Faye isn't drinking alone anymore. At least until someone better comes to shove him aside.]
Any recommendations? Never seen so many drinks in my life, to be honest. I don't get out enough. [his fault. he's a jerk.]
no subject
Apparently not. But even if you were out a lot, this is a crap load of alcohol. What kinda drink are you after? I had a couple of good cocktails, and this cider is nice.
*She slides her glass over to him so he can take a sip if he wants to*
no subject
[where are your friends??
He looks back at the selection, then laughs dryly at his own stupidity.]
It's embarrassing, but even though I know how to timetravel and cross dimensions... I know nothing about alcohol. We don't have that in space. No one gets drunk. [and they're all tea snobs where Uai is from.]
no subject
Fruity but with enough of a kick - just how I like it.
*Spoilers - Faye doesn't really have any friends. Definitely not the type who would ask her to go along to any events like this*
You kidding me? What's the point in all that travel if you aren't gonna check out the local bars? That's the first thing I do on a new planet - you can tell a lot about the people who live there based on their alcohol...
no subject
Right? The food and drinks a culture prefer speak a lot for their resources and scientific advancement. Beer especially shows a lot about how far science has come-- [whoops, nerd at 12 o'clock.
He clears his throat, embarrassed by that nerdy moment.] So you travel between planets, huh? That must be fun. I've always wanted to explore an entire solar system, or two.
no subject
*She agrees with him at least, giving him a wider smile as he clears his throat - that's kind of cute*
It's great. The freedom to go wherever the hell you want whenever the hell you want. I miss it. This place just feels...small.
*Faye shrugs, but lifts her glass when Uai gets his drink and holds it towards him for a toast, though she doesn't exactly know what for*
Cheers.
no subject
Cheers.
[She's turned out to be interesting. Uai would never think this was a waste of time, keeping someone company, but it's proving to be a positive rather than a neutral.]
It really is, huh? Even with the other cities. The fact there's a boundary bothers me. It's like living somewhere that the world really is flat. [He grumbles slightly at the comparison, like it's the worst thing he could think of.]
You would think a place filled with folks from other worlds would be more exciting.
