Christmas Eve Party!

WHAT: Weiss's Housewarming/Christmas Eve Party

WHERE: Team RWBY's new house
WARNINGS: Mistletoe is hung in one of the corners! Avoid it if you don't wanna get smooched! (But seriously if anyone has anything here that needs a warning please tell me.)



It's Christmas Eve and it's cold outside! Perhaps you should come in, enjoy some refreshments, chat, sing a song at the karaoke station, or open up your Secret Santa gifts? There's plenty of room to wander around and plenty of fun to be had! While furniture doesn't seem to be overly plentiful, there's a coat closet near the entrance and plenty of room for party guests in the family room, kitchen (where the food is!) and breakfast nook, and the outside deck. There are Christmasy pine garlands with signs that say "Guests are asked to remain in the party area! Thank you!" cutting off rooms beyond those and classy decorations adorning the designated party area (plus doilies at the dining table). At the center of the family room is a well-lit Christmas tree.

Naturally, if you have another location that you would like to direct your thread, you're welcome to make a thread of your own-- but if it's in an area that's off limits, unless your character is accompanied by one of Team RWBY (or are going to the restroom- which hopefully there won't be any threads for that) your character will get told to go back to the party if your character is caught! If they get caught more than once, they may be asked to leave. :( We don't want that!

The party evening will round out with Weiss and Blake singing a duet of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" for everyone, so please have a Merry Christmas! (And happy all holidays!)

[Maka went more simple with her dress, hair down for a change except for two miniature 'tails tied up with matching-colored ribbons--heck, she didn't want to look a mess going in her regular schoolgirl attire but still didn't want to go extravagant. It's just Christmas.

Unfortunately when Kid saw, he opted to pick out a matching colored shirt to wear along with his usual formal attire. Where did he even find that? Did he always have it? Well, whatever, as long as he's happy. And as long as he please please please doesn't insist on rearranging things in Team RWBY's house, that's rude and nobody cares if you're a god Kid!

--Needless to say, the glorified babysitting can be a little much for a Meister to handle solo, so she's on a sofa reading a book to decompress when one comes across her. She'll still look up and smile at passersby, though, say "hi" and "merry Christmas." It's only polite (she doesn't care if Soul says she puts too much effort into being polite) and she doesn't want to make things awkward at someone else's party.]

Hi Maka!

[Luke is almost feeling overwhelmed by all of the people at the party--unfamiliar faces and so much chattering. He says hello to familiar faces but has also been trying to keep an eye on Koishi.

Happy to see someone familiar he wanders over. In lieu of his usual blue sweater he's dressed up in a black vest and pants, white collared shirt and a painfully lopsided red tie he tried ok; his blue had is replaced with a black one that matches the rest of his outfit.]

Your hair looks pretty when you wear it down. I didn't realize it was so long!

[Pretty? That's an unusual comment (for her, anyway) and a little unexpected, but then he mentions the length and she nods slightly.]

Thanks...I sometimes forget about that because I usually have it up.

It looks nice like that! Your dress is very pretty too.

[He might have more to say but her fingers are fiddling with the knot in his tie. Luke fidgets slightly, ever uncomfortable with the number of people who have tried fixing said tie for him tonight.

He lets her fix the knot anyway, but it cleary makes him nervous maybe the tie needs perpetual fixing because you keep tugging on it, Luke.]

Um...yes. It keeps coming undone. I've never tied a tie before...I tried to follow the instructions I found but it won't stay.

Thank you again...hmmm. Well, it doesn't help if you fidget with it, and it looks like you put it too tight here--you don't want to choke yourself.

[Fidget fidget thank you for fixing it Maka he's totally going to ruin it in five minutes, and not even realize it. Sorry. Luke looks up at her, uncertain.]

Well, first, you don't tie them too tight. I just got used to them after a while.

[Evident by how easily she redoes the whole thing as if it's second nature.]

[He shifts nervously again, little fingers balling into fists to avoid the urge to fuss with the tie some more.]

I don't like it. I won't wear one again, unless I have to.

[Luke is clearly no better at taking a compliment than Maka.]

I wasn't even sure what colors you're supposed to wear, and then I can't get the tie right. I like blue much better, but it's not very dressy.

[Satsuki arrived to the party in her uniform- hardly casual but arguably not appropriate for a party. But seeing as the Guardian didn't intend to stay for long, it will do.

She has two nicely wrapped packages in hand, both about the size of a hat box, and she approaches the sofa on her way to drop them off at the table. The familiar voice saying hello causes her to stop and look to the even more familiar face. Following the look of surprise is one of a hint of.. Shame?]

[Sitting, especially in the presence of a Guaridan, is rude--so Maka will stand to properly greet Satsuki.] Yes, and I'm sorry for not checking in for a while. I let an issue with my father and his current partner overwhelm me.

[Weapon/Meister drama is shockingly draining, especially when one of the involved parties is insane.]

On the upside, my actual partner's finally made his way back to Genessia. I'm not sure if Mr. Gamagori told you yet, but I'm hoping after the holidays I can bring Soul to meet you. If you're not busy, of course.

The apology is appreciated but unnecessary; it has been a busy couple of months for many of us- the Guardians in particular. Perhaps once that is cleared up we can finally partake in the Everglade expedition if the idea still interests you.

Ah yes; he has informed me and I would be quite interested in meeting 'Soul'. It would be little trouble to make time for introductions considering the situation.

I'm afraid I will not be staying around for very long, With the recent.. Controversies rearing their ugly heads again, I need to do what I can. But it's good to see you again.
