Christmas Eve Party!

WHO: Anyone willing to behave themselves for a nice Christmas party!
WHAT: Weiss's Housewarming/Christmas Eve Party

WHERE: Team RWBY's new house
WARNINGS: Mistletoe is hung in one of the corners! Avoid it if you don't wanna get smooched! (But seriously if anyone has anything here that needs a warning please tell me.)



It's Christmas Eve and it's cold outside! Perhaps you should come in, enjoy some refreshments, chat, sing a song at the karaoke station, or open up your Secret Santa gifts? There's plenty of room to wander around and plenty of fun to be had! While furniture doesn't seem to be overly plentiful, there's a coat closet near the entrance and plenty of room for party guests in the family room, kitchen (where the food is!) and breakfast nook, and the outside deck. There are Christmasy pine garlands with signs that say "Guests are asked to remain in the party area! Thank you!" cutting off rooms beyond those and classy decorations adorning the designated party area (plus doilies at the dining table). At the center of the family room is a well-lit Christmas tree.

Naturally, if you have another location that you would like to direct your thread, you're welcome to make a thread of your own-- but if it's in an area that's off limits, unless your character is accompanied by one of Team RWBY (or are going to the restroom- which hopefully there won't be any threads for that) your character will get told to go back to the party if your character is caught! If they get caught more than once, they may be asked to leave. :( We don't want that!

The party evening will round out with Weiss and Blake singing a duet of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" for everyone, so please have a Merry Christmas! (And happy all holidays!)

Kitchen/Nook/Where the Food is

Just here for the snacks or got a little peckish? Check out the kitchen! There's drinks, bite-sized Christmas-themed hors d'oeuvres like miniature baked corn or tiny little cranberry sauce bowls, and the center piece-- a large Christmas goose! There are desserts too, like 1" apple, pecan, sweet potato, and pumpkin mini-pies! Help yourself!

Please be advised that while there are sparkling bottles at the tables surrounded by fluted glasses filled with the liquid, they are in fact grape or apple sparkling cider. There is no alcohol at this party and you will be asked to leave if you so much as try to add anything to the drinks.

[ If anything's looking less than full or out of order, Weiss is checking back periodically to arrange everything meticulously. Right before she starts each time, of course, she tucks her hair back into her dress's hood to make sure that there's no risk of anything getting in the food. Absolute perfection is a go!

Just.. be careful not to let her catch you doing anything that might not be sanitary. ]

It was on her second trip to arrange the food that she felt a little tug on her sleeve. "Miss? Excuse me? Miss? Can you see me?" A little girl (or what appeared to be) with luminous green eyes was standing next to her, smiling. She was a little hard to see but it wasn't unreasonable.

"Miss? What's that?" She pointed at the little pies. "I've never seen them before and they look good. What are they called? Can you show me how to make them? What kinds are there?"

Oh dear. She looked about ready to dive into them...

Weiss looked over at the young girl upon having her sleeve tugged. She wasn't exactly sure who this was but she would probably figure it out soon (Luke did describe her after all).

"They're mini pies, I ordered them so I don't know how to make them but there are apple, pecan, sweet potato, and pumpkin flavors."

[broceanking]

[Neptune wanders into the kitchen to set up even more sparkling apple and cranberry ciders, as well as the hot cider and hot cocoa he'd gotten for the party. Of course, he's being extremely careful not to spill anything on his his outfit. But he nearly drops everything when he spots Weiss.]

Wow. Someone sure got into the spirit of the season.

[whiteas]

I'll take that as a compliment. It's the one time of year I'm accepting the nickname.

[ Ice Queen. Get it. She thought it was amusing anyway. Wow Neptune looked handsome today. Weiss gives him a look over, though more subtle than it had been in the past (mostly because she's trying not to look like she's looking him over). ]

Do you need some help?

[ Since he's busy looking like he's going to drop everything upon seeing her and all.. ]

[ she tucked her hair neatly into her hood only for it to be yanked back — gently, mind you, as the culprit only meant to get her attention after he snuck up on her. ]

Happy Christmas. ...or is it Merry?

[whiteas]

Zuko!

[ Weiss gave him a surprised look as she swung around to look at him, surprise in her tone. That hood really made it hard to see anything other than what was in front of her, sure, but his outfit was more surprising. ]

I don't think I've ever seen you wear white.

There probably was really no reason to get dressed up as she did for a party she's spending most of her time in the kitchen for. But, eh, it was nice to get settled in to a bigger place for all of them but the only downside was that Sun was no longer their neighbor. Oh well, at least that would make their occasional falling asleep together more special.

Fixing up some of the platters of food, helping to keep everything clean and tidy, Blake occasionally stole a glance out to the mingling crowds for any familiar faces. The entire Christmas thing was still a curious mystery but at least it did bring a bit of warmth in the air with the seasons becoming colder.

Well, here's one familiar face: Weiss doesn't seem to look tired at all, especially since she had more help with this party. Blake was definitely a big part of that, so she was going to take a break from talking to people to come bring Blake a little cup of the hot cocoa that Neptune brought.

"Any disasters yet?"

[deadly_belladonna]

"None so far. It's a good thing we got extra cheese since everyone certainly seems to enjoy it. Also, been placing coasters everywhere." She said quietly while putting together another platter.

After stealing a glance out the door, she glanced back at Weiss. "How's it going out there?"

Taking the cocoa, she gave a small nod of her head in thanks. "Did you see Neptune's attire? It was much better than a coat he showed me earlier. I think it was a bright purple."

[lookprofessor]

"Miss Belladonna!"

Luke's been puttering around, mostly watching people as they talk and keeping an eye on Koishi, but when he finally spied Blake he wandered over. In lieu of his usual outfit he's actually dressed up--a red tie and white shirt, with a black vest and pants. He's even wearing a black hat, because his usual blue cap wouldn't match and he rather figured if one was going to the effort of looking nice, they ought to see it through. Regardless, that red tie is rather lopsided, and it's still crooked. He did his best, but...

"Merry Christmas. Have you been in the kitchen cooking this whole time?"

Hearing him, Blake glanced up before glancing down to see him there and offered a small smile as a hello. "Glad to see you made it, Luke."

Turning to her plate of cookies, fudge and other treats, she held it out for him. "Care for some Holiday treats? At least that's what the cook book called them." Given she was still new to Christmas and wasn't sure if Holiday treats were vastly different than others.

Stealing a peek at his red tie, she knelt down and carefully reached for his tie to properly straighten it carefully without hurting him. "Merry Christmas to you as well." She smiled as she tugged and smoothed out the red fabric.

"Mmm, somewhat. Just keeping the platters full, making sure everyone uses coasters and what not. Weiss would be crushed if something happened to our new home so quick."

Koschei had never attended a party or festival dedicated to an alien holiday before, but he rather liked this one. He was, after all, an adolescent and had a healthy appetite for food. Grabbing a plate, he wandered around the tables, trying to identify the various offerings.

Koschei knew his teachers would disapprove of his behavior, reminding him that the festival was a primitive one and that Koschei himself should remain aloof. Well, Koschei would take food, drinks, and music over the long-winded speeches and pompous rituals of his own world, thank you! As for being aloof, well, there was something to be said for blending in and, for now, Koschei had decided to follow the lead of the other kidnap victims who had been here longer.

[sarcaskick]

[ Mercury, looking absolutely dapper, seems to be spending a lot of time lingering by the drinks. Far too long for someone just quenching their thirst. Looking far too shady to be just taking in the scenery.

But surely he couldn't be up to anything here, right? It's not like he'd risk ruining the party by trying to be that one asshole who tries to spike the drinks, right? No, there's no way he'd dare.

No way at all.

except he's totally reaching out to add something to one of the drinks, though his body cleverly obscures exactly what it is.

There's that going on, now. ]

[mintchip]

[ Wow Mercury. More for the outfit than the shady drink-spiking. Emerald doesn't care, she's just glad she witnessed it so she doesn't have to deal with the consequences. ]

Gray hair, but shaved and in a suit... Santa moving into white collar crime instead of burglary?

[ Emerald herself wasn't wearing anything very fancy.. but it was nearly impossible to see since she'd elected to keep her coat on instead of leave it at the mercy of the coat closet. ]

[sarcaskick]

[ He doesn't turn away from his "work", though he spares a quick glance over his shoulder at his green-haired partner. ]

I notice you didn't mention him losing weight. Are you calling me fat?

[filchedfruit]

[ Joruk is looking equally dapper. He's just about ready to get a drink after all the food he's consumed. He plans to get more once he's hungry again. He notices Mercury standing there. ]

What are you doing?

[sarcaskick]

Who, me?

[ Well, he'd been hoping Weiss would take notice first - but hell, it's not that important. He turns to step to one side, to reveal...

Candy canes. He's been hanging candy canes on the glasses. Individually wrapped, of course, so the mint doesn't affect the flavor of the drinks. ]

Just making things a little more festive, that's all! I think it gives them some extra charm.

[whiteas]

[ BUSTED YOU SHITHEAD WHAT ARE YOU DOING. There's a very angry looking Weiss standing right behind him, waiting for him to notice. Unfortunately, as he is much taller than she is, she can't actually see around him but she can guess. ]

[Gippal didn't really know anyone at this party except Rikku. Had she not mentioned it to him before, he probably wouldn't have even come here. But now that he was here, he could see that it wasn't so bad. The food was really good too.

He spent a little of his time there, trying the little mini pie things and getting refills on his drink. He still didn't know what this Christmas thing was entirely about, but if it involved parties like this, then count him in.]

[ Sorry Gippal, but that little mini-pie thing you're going for right now? NABBED. Just before he could grab it! She's got some quick fingers, alright. And a smile right after she pops it into her mouth.

She might've had some of Mercury's special candy caned drinks, okay. ]

[Just because you are super cute doesn't mean you can steal a guy's food, Emerald.]

Hey! You realize I was going for that, right? [That smile she has on her face makes him believe that she does.]

'No alcohol', what a stupid ban. Though, he must say, as an archangel, he'd agree to those terms. Humanity plus alcohol, never a good combination. Not that he'd ever air those type of comments. As far as humans are concerned, he's a janitor. If they dig even deeper, they'd learn he's a demigod. Deeper still, they'd learn he was Loki, a trickster. But none of them should ever know about the fact that he is an archangel. Not that Luci would ever be inclined to keep the secret. The bastard.

But, today was a party, and he planned on celebrating. He wanted to respect Weiss' wishes too. So today, he didn't appear in her bedroom. Instead, he was in her kitchen. And upon entering, Weiss will see lots of golden, silver and crystal-ware placed neatly around the kitchen. Upon the platters were decedent sweets and chocolates from different dimensions and time periods. Something Gabriel enjoyed. "I thought you needed more desserts. So, here I am!"

When she sees all of the new desserts and very nice serving set up, she actually looks impressed. Was he getting into her favor? Just a little bit. At the very least, it was more than he had been when he was a home invader and someone who was trying to make her boyfriend go broke trying to bid on her at an auction.

"Should I consider this an apology?"

For a brief moment she wonders if there's something wrong with it, just because of this guy's history, but if there's one thing that Weiss is familiar with it's that sometimes it's best to let the past be just that. Still, she's definitely giving him an eyeful of uncertainty about it. Then again, Mercury had started making vague attempts at being more bearable lately too. (At least right up until she finds out that he spiked some of the drinks at her party.) Maybe it was just the Christmas spirit.
