OPEN LOG; EVERGLADE, GENESSIA - do not reply until you read the ooc post
The first sign that something was going on that day hadn't been at the crack. It hadn't even been in Genessia, as a matter of fact. The first sign had been a sound not unlike a window shuddering in a heavy storm. It perforated the atmosphere within Everglade first.
Only a few moments later, Fayren would hear the same shudder echo through its forests, forcing birds to flee the cover of the trees. In the populated areas of the kingdom itself, it would be much quieter, as if it were miles away.
Then it would return to Genessia. The crack in the sky was rapidly saturated, thousands more than before forcing their whole shapeless bodies against the barrier. Some of the strange aurora-tinted color seems to press into their ranks, a few of the strange creatures being forced back, but quickly being replaced by another of its kind.
And a sickening crack could be heard in all archways near and far, but it was loudest in Everglade, where a new crack had formed. Two humongous cracks appeared in Everglade's barrier like a sinister grin as if it were laughing at the town just above the clocktower. The two cracks took only a couple of seconds more before the strange monstrous creatures burst small holes into that crack, not big enough to fit their bodies through at once.
The leaked through, dripping like poison from an apple out of that sneering mouth in the sky until the first of these creatures fell to the ground. The eager, hungry soul from before, whose abyss of a stomach had been shared with the whole of Genessia when he'd opened his misshapen jaw the first time a few days ago now looked from side to side in the streets of Everglade.
The first face he saw was that of an NPC, and he only saw it for a moment before launching himself at the man and pinning him to the ground. Some would recognize him as the grizzled owner of The Rabbit's Foot. A loud scream was put out from the man as the creature opened its jaw wide, but did not eat him. Nothing seemed to happen when his jaw was opened, as a matter of fact.
The creature closed its mouth slowly before standing upright on what seemed to be a two-legged form, though if it had arms they didn't take shape. It made a gesture as if it were cracking its neck as the man escaped quickly, locking the door to his shop behind him.
More of the creatures were piling into Everglade slowly but surely, but this one in particular caught sight of a local werewolf, someone with a pendant, a soul, and repeated his mauling, but this time- this time something happened. This time a strange, glowing mist seemed to pull out of the Everglade resident's body, a faint glimmer of aurora with it, and in a short time this person stopped screaming. They were still alive, but it didn't seem like there was anything... inside, really.
A hissing, victorious laughter left the creature and he moved on, heading toward Genessia's gate along with his oversized mouth pulled up into an eerie grin that reflected the crack in the sky. Those that had made it in through Everglade's crack followed suit.
They had to let the rest of their friends in through Genessia; it was only the polite thing to do.

So yes, she's there with her 3D Maneuver Gear on and not letting go of her swords to fight them. All too used too monsters, who can't be killed with one hit unless you hit the right place -- but if these things have a place like that, no one knows it. And sure, even these monsters are scary. Titans are scary too, yet she still chose to give her heart and soul for humanity's soul to fight against them, so this whole situation? Reminds her a little too much of home, but at least fiercely fighting against monsters is something she did there too.
She hears a girl screaming for help somewhere nearby and turns to look. Viv-- Yes, that's the same girl and those are a few of these spirits chasing her. Narrowing her eyes here. Oh no, you don't.
Not that Petra really stops to think about it, she has much more important things to do like launching her gear to get herself there and fighting those spirits with her pair of sword-like weapons. At least they're smaller than Titans, so that's done fast enough. Doesn't mean there won't be more soon, but she's here now.
And turning to Vivio as soon as she can after defeating those spirits, putting a weapon away from her right hand to take Vivio's hand into it. Hello new acquaintance, she'd hug you if they had time for that so holding hand will have to do unless Vivio minds it. "Come on, let's get you out of here."

It was pretty awesome. And she would've said so if the situation wasn't so dangerous right now, so instead of that Vivio reaches out to grab Petra's hand without thinking about it too much. Though if she had really been thinking, she would've used this chance to transform so maybe she and Kris could help out too.
But it was too late to do that now. "Are... are you going to be okay like this?" She doesn't know how much weight that... whatever it was around Petra's waist could actually hold, but removing one of her swords probably wasn't a good idea, right?

It's not exactly ever a wise idea to remove one of your weapons... But these aren't titans and if she just needs to slash her way through, then just one sword should be enough for that.
If it's not enough, well then she's fast at getting back on full set. She didn't survive all those times outside walls with just pure luck.
"I can take it back whenever. More importantly, are you okay?"

"I mean, is that thing you're using going to be able to hold more than one person. I mean, it has no magic, so it can't be too heavy to do what it does, right?"

"I could carry you anywhere and it would be fine. People have carried others even when the others have been wearing this same thing." Even though they're definitely not as good as magic, or most things that people might have elsewhere. She could carry her like a princess right now. "So don't worry, it actually takes three years of training to use these but I went through that a long time ago." Some years ago, some people have gone through it a lot longer than that ago of course.

"Okay. How do you need to hold me for this?" Vivio asked, readying to get into position as soon as Petra told her what she needed to do. The last thing she wanted to do was to get in the way. So now was definitely the time for listening and not being dumb.
She finally did think about transforming, but stopped herself from actually going through with it. It wouldn't make much sense now if Petra was trying to get her to safety. Even if she could still carry someone who was bigger, being smaller would be a lot easier. She knew that much.

"It's easiest if I..." She puts a hand on Vivio's arm, ready to pick her up like a little princess.
That's when another monsters appears near them. The older girl is quick, changing her plan into an attempt to gently grab the little girl and to move Vivio behind her so she'd be out of the way while Petra is already readying her weapon(s).
"I'll make this quick, okay? Don't worry."
Reassuring words to the girl with a reassuring smile too. Just another one of those monsters, no problem, right?

Of course, she really should transform, but with just one monster it wasn't really going to be that much time before they had to move again. So Vivio just stood there and waited for Petra to take care of the spirit creature.

Like the situations, that when she hits the spirit monsters with her blade now, it doesn't work at all. Ooops? It literally does absolutely nothing to it.
She's almost surprised it doesn't break her weapon. Not a bad thing, just something she's almost used to back home if something doesn't work on titans. Then again right now she's more surprised about the fact, that this one's different than the ones she's hit with them before.
"Tch." That's like saying shit but you know, just not actually saying that right now. She stays calm anyway. Okay, she can just try this again, right?! No fear, no panic, just try again in a different place...

Oh wait, it's actually sort of not new since the sudden change in the whole situation makes her mind think back at her situation back home. Why again... She doesn't scream this time either.
She really should do that screaming thing. Levi is somewhere much closer this time, he would make it there in time this time for sure if he heard it. She even looks like she could be screaming but -- well, that's another familiar thing. Too scared and all to make any kind of noise come out. She should tell Vivio to get away from there, that'd be important if she's still there. She shouldn't be seeing this.
Seeing. What exactly? Petra on the ground with the monster and it opening its jaw. She's actually fully expecting it to eat her but --- nothing happens?! Or so it looks like.

And she's thrusting her hands forward, she and Kris didn't have time to really focus a possible spell, but all she needed was a lot of power to knock the thing back. And a lot of power Vivio got, a bright huge rainbow blast of magic shooting out from her hands and into the creature. And the creature was blasted back, before she runs up over to Petra.
"Petra! Are you okay?!"
