OPEN LOG; EVERGLADE, GENESSIA - do not reply until you read the ooc post
The first sign that something was going on that day hadn't been at the crack. It hadn't even been in Genessia, as a matter of fact. The first sign had been a sound not unlike a window shuddering in a heavy storm. It perforated the atmosphere within Everglade first.
Only a few moments later, Fayren would hear the same shudder echo through its forests, forcing birds to flee the cover of the trees. In the populated areas of the kingdom itself, it would be much quieter, as if it were miles away.
Then it would return to Genessia. The crack in the sky was rapidly saturated, thousands more than before forcing their whole shapeless bodies against the barrier. Some of the strange aurora-tinted color seems to press into their ranks, a few of the strange creatures being forced back, but quickly being replaced by another of its kind.
And a sickening crack could be heard in all archways near and far, but it was loudest in Everglade, where a new crack had formed. Two humongous cracks appeared in Everglade's barrier like a sinister grin as if it were laughing at the town just above the clocktower. The two cracks took only a couple of seconds more before the strange monstrous creatures burst small holes into that crack, not big enough to fit their bodies through at once.
The leaked through, dripping like poison from an apple out of that sneering mouth in the sky until the first of these creatures fell to the ground. The eager, hungry soul from before, whose abyss of a stomach had been shared with the whole of Genessia when he'd opened his misshapen jaw the first time a few days ago now looked from side to side in the streets of Everglade.
The first face he saw was that of an NPC, and he only saw it for a moment before launching himself at the man and pinning him to the ground. Some would recognize him as the grizzled owner of The Rabbit's Foot. A loud scream was put out from the man as the creature opened its jaw wide, but did not eat him. Nothing seemed to happen when his jaw was opened, as a matter of fact.
The creature closed its mouth slowly before standing upright on what seemed to be a two-legged form, though if it had arms they didn't take shape. It made a gesture as if it were cracking its neck as the man escaped quickly, locking the door to his shop behind him.
More of the creatures were piling into Everglade slowly but surely, but this one in particular caught sight of a local werewolf, someone with a pendant, a soul, and repeated his mauling, but this time- this time something happened. This time a strange, glowing mist seemed to pull out of the Everglade resident's body, a faint glimmer of aurora with it, and in a short time this person stopped screaming. They were still alive, but it didn't seem like there was anything... inside, really.
A hissing, victorious laughter left the creature and he moved on, heading toward Genessia's gate along with his oversized mouth pulled up into an eerie grin that reflected the crack in the sky. Those that had made it in through Everglade's crack followed suit.
They had to let the rest of their friends in through Genessia; it was only the polite thing to do.

aaaassuming she finds out about adult mode in the intro??
Of course she's still able to stay calm and shoot at them one by one - or not so one by one in case of some shots. Maybe she should switch to Exceed soon, so far she's been able to defend without it but if stronger spirits came to her... Well, she honestly didn't think they'd be a problem. Or rather she wouldn't let them get in her way.
Master.
"Hmm?" Nanoha turned to look at her device as if she was waiting for it to say more, when her eyes spotted something else. Someone else. Why?? She should have been home, safe and definitely not here!! Nanoha didn't stay up in the air wondering about it herself. She flew to Vivio as fast as she could, multiple pink spheres appeared around them as she arrived to bring safety.
"Vivio, what are you doing?! I thought I made it clear, that you'll stay out of trouble!" ...Sorry, she's just really worried and misunderstood some of this situation, clearly. Or maybe less clearly for a terrified little girl, when Nanoha looked at her like that. Yes, you might be grounded at least Nanoha thought so right now.
Oh, of course!
"I... I wasn't trying to get into trouble," she finally said as her spell finished, six rainbow balls of magic also brimming to life around her, and not wavering or shooting off already or anything. Which was good, because range was definitely going to be needed. "I just wanted to see what Everglade was like. I didn't know the monsters were going to break in today or here!"
Seriously, she wasn't like Knight Carim, she couldn't see the future and if she could she would've been sure to tell everyone anyway!
... Wow. That really wasn't a thought to be having here. Especially with one of those spirits coming right at them. So Vivio and Kris focused, and one of her shots went slamming into it, sending it flying back. Hopefully for good, but Vivio kinda doubted that that would happen.

Her words make Nanoha feel bad for that reaction on seeing her here. So it's not like she's here on purpose. Of course she isn't, but sudden four year grow is kind of a lot to take in even without magical powers there.
"Vivio..." There's a pause. "Sorry, I didn't mean to assume--" She sighs. She doesn't want to fight with her and she looks at a corner of her eye to shoot a bolt of her own at a monster. And back to Vvio, who shoots her own spell. Well, Nanoha can't say she's not proud of her but there's a time for that and that's not here. Not yet at least, things have priorities and this sure isn't time to start praising her.
"Let's get you away from these, okay? It's not safe for you or anyone else to be here. We'll help you two out."

"We just can't leave everyone here like this!"
no subject
Then again, they need as much fighting power as they can have and Vivio can do more than normal humans...
"...Do you want to stay here and fight with me, honestly?" It's not a place for Vivio to be in but yes, she might be giving her an option right now while she shoots her spells at the monsters. Nanoha could keep her safe but she'd take her home as soon as she'd become too tired.
no subject
"I... I already tried to get to safety before with someone else helping me, and they just got hurt by these things because of it. If I had been fighting earlier, that wouldn't have happened!"
no subject
But this is not the time to get emotional about anything. Nanoha is still the same girl, who puts business before anything else and these monsters are some serious business. She could stay, for a while, Nanoha could protect her even if Nanoha is still pretty much against it but it's also pointless to talk about it here instead of doing even more. Don't think she just ignores that part, Vivio, she just decides to focus on other things first because she doesn't want either of them to end up as monster food.
"Then here's what we're going to do. It's not safe here, anywhere, but even less here on the ground--" Monsters everywhere and people just keep shooting them to the ground, sounds like a bad combination. "I'll teach you to fly after this is over, okay? But this time--" Raising Heart can help this time to make little wings appear on Vivio's shoes too. " ... Let's at least stay together, okay?" Up in the sky, that is."

Still, she feels like she should be super happy to have that magic on her feet now. "Okay. The sky definitely seems like it'd be safer." She wasn't really wanting to think about what would happen if one of her punches didn't do anything to one of the creatures, since she remembered what happened when Petra's sword didn't work.
Of course, that'd leave her with mostly just Sonic Shooter and maybe Divine Buster if she could make one strong enough, but it'd definitely be better than having to resort to melee. "Have you come across any of these things that weren't hurt by your magic, Nanoha-mama?"
