[ Action/Video ] (A bit backdated!)

[ Shortly after dropping Satsuki in a ditch somewhere (read: going their separate ways), Lucy and Natsu continued on to drop off their bounty to get their pay before heading home. Lucy deliberately picked a path that skirted away from where the building that the guild was supposed to be in, was. In fact, the apartment she'd picked out was even further away from the guild building than the inn was.

Speaking of apartments - she tucked the cloaks she received under an arm (or passed them over to Natsu if he wanted to hold them for a moment) and turned on her device, the video feed showing a slightly scuffed up but smiling blonde. ]

Those smugglers that were harassing the unicorns were taken care of - thankfully. Hopefully no one else gets it in their head to bother them- and hopefully the unicorns themselves have learned their lesson about going near people. I'm sure they did. Anyway, got some neat new magic cloaks out of the mission - that was a nice surprise!

Oh, Wendy, Levy, just thought I'd let you know, but I've moved out of the Inn. I'm staying in an apartment on the edge of town.

[ So if they go looking for her at the Inn and don't see her, that'd be why. That'd also be why a certain other Dragonslayer won't be there. That message passed, she closed the phone and tucked it into her pocket before glancing at her partner. ]

Before we head back, I want to stop and pick up some things. [ Bandages and such mainly. For obvious reasons. ]

[She's not dodging this one no. Just as he was about to give up and sulk, Lucy finally agreed. His face broke into a big happy smile and he quickly scooted over happily.]

Well what are you waitin for?

[ This man. THe things she does for him. ...though it wasn't entirely for him, she'd be lying if she said she didn't want his arms around her. But at least this way she could kind of rationalize it as just making her best friend happy. Y-yeah. Although did he have to give that heart melting smile like that? ]

... What? Oh! Right..Right. [ Ahem. Cheeks painting a darker pink, she moved to settle in front of him, though she sat a bit tensely. ]

[He doesn't see anything wrong with what he's doing. Why would he? After all he was just spending more quality time with his dear partner and best friend and...probably something more.]

Hey relax. It's not like this will feel bad or anything.

[He lightly chuckls and moves his arms around either side of Lucy, framing her seat.]

[ She loved spending quality time with her partner/best friend/probably something more too! But she also overthought things. Like now as her brain mentally shrieked with his arms framing her seat - agh. AAaaa. Okay, calm down. Relax, breathe. She took a deep breath, settling back against his chest and trying to get her heart to stop pounding and -calm the hell down- ]

R.. right, of course not...!

Comfy?

[Yep he has the nerve to ask that once she's leaning on him completely. if not for that smile some would think he was pulling her chain like this on purpose.]

[ ... he must be. He's gotta be. Right? ]

Um... yeah.. yeah I am. [ It was hard not feeling comfortable when she was with him, even when he was making her crazy like this. Her chest ached from how hard her heart was pounding. ]

..are you?

[Maybe maybe not. She will never know. He does move a round a bit to find the perfect spot to sit with Lucy and when he does he lets out a satisfied sigh.]

Yup all good to go here~

[ GASP. Plot twist, it's all Natsu's subtle subtle means of destroying her resistance singlehandedly! She squeaked a bit as he shifted behind her, blushing at that sigh. Jeezus it was like... ... like they both found a moment of pure happiness. ]

... O-okay.

[ At least it was just them; she could just relax. Reeeelax. She scooped up her book, cracking it open and holding it at an angle that he could see it too. ]

[It just might be ! But she can't fight it anyway.]

so lets get started~

[Since she still has to open the book and turn the pages for him after all.]

[ No, no she can't. Not with him. And she might not be so freaked out if her back wasn't open like it was. It still felt warm where his hands had been. But she opened the book, flipping to the first page and shifting into a comfortable spot at first - then remembering this was HIM she was snuggling against. Ack. ]

C...Can you see all right?

[She shouldn't even try to in the first place. Natsu was quite comfortable with the current position though even having to fight the urge to press his nose against Lucy's hair since he's supposed to be reading along with her.]

Yup I can see everything from here.

[ But think of the horrible things that could happen if she didn't resist! Cutely cuddling against him while reading! Holding hands! Gasp! Kissing! OH THE HUMANITY! *Screeeeeeeeeeeeeam* ]

All right - um... just ... say the word when you want me to turn the page.

[ As for herself well... she'd written it so she didn't need to pay as close attention. Especially when the majority of that attention was focused on the person she was leaning against. Wondering what made him suggest this particular position to read in - trying to figure out his way of thinking. Wondering ...

In any case, the characters of the book would probably feel a little familiar. The Police Chief was a red haired hardass, the rookie transfer cop was a perky, optimistic blond and the robot sidekick was -strangely- smart mouthed and the two often squabbled. HRM. ]

He does notice some rather distinguishable tells about the characters but doesn't make a comment on any of them as he reads, occasionally telling Lucy to turn the page at least at first before they start knowing each other's timing almost perfectly.]

[ Lucy hoped and prayed that he didn't notice anything similar about the cute, roguish green eyed thief that the rookie blonde was after to bring him in. Ohboy would that get awkward. But by the time she'd picked out when he would ask her to turn the page, she already was in the process of doing so, her thoughts filling up with bizarre questions again. One in particular she just... had to ask. She hated to break the comfortable silence, but ... she shifted, twisting around slightly to glance at him. ]

Natsu...? ... ... you sure you're okay with this? I mean...we really shouldn't... I think...

[ Clarification? Context? What's that for? ]

[Natsu moved ever so slightly to turn his eyes from the pages to Lucy who was settled securely in his arms like that. He tilted his head curiously for the umpteenth time whenever they were this close.]

Why wouldn't I be?

[And the rabbit hole just gets deeper.]

Shouldn't what?

[ Just call her Alice! ]

Well --

[ No, if he was happy with the way things were, she wasn't going to bring up anything else and make things even more complicated. So she makes things more complicated. ]

We shouldn't... be this close. [ What if she ended up kissing him again? Or getting far too comfortable in his arms and getting use to it. ]

Ahaha I- I mean, you wouldn't want to get used to this.... .... ... right?

[And again he gives her a look as if she's grown two more heads and each a different animal.]

Wny wouldn't I? This feels really nice.

... [ Lucy glanced away, shaking her head, flipping the page slowly. ]

W..Well it's obvious, I mean, we're not going to sit like this again or anything.

[ ... hrm. Didn't she say that about kissing him too, not too long ago? ]

[....Lucy you're not making any sense.]

Why not? It's not like I get in the way of you reading.

[ She's making perfect sense! He just doesn't get it, and augh, frustrating! Seriously why does she try to explain things to him? It only gives her a headache. ]

It's... it's a little... close... [ Almost intimately so but she wasn't going to use THAT term. And it'd be pointless to bring up that other people would get the wrong idea about them just being comfortable with each other, she's tried that argument on him before. ]

Nope. Feels nice to be this close to you.

[Yes he just said that completely straightforward and without a hint of shame or hesitation.]

Wh... [ But... augh. ]

T..there you go again. [ Saying such bluntly honest stuff and making her flustered! And just... not even the slightest bit of hesitation either. ]

I don't know how you can just say things like that... [ Nevertheless she turned back around, hiding a small smile. Her partner was some piece of work all right. ]

Just telling the truth here. Why would I lie about something like this anyway?

[ No not even her funny reactions would be enough to make him say a lie of this magnitude.]

[ She fiddled with the pages of the book, shaking her head a little. ]

... you wouldn't. I know you wouldn't. [ But at the same time it floored her he was so up front about things like that. It was almost like -...well. That was just a silly idea. She sighed softly. ]

Ah, I think I lost my page. Where were we?

Page? I think it was 37.

[And sure enough that's the exact page number. Seems he really was paying attention.]
