Who: Airy & OPEN
Where: Genessia Hospital
When: March 29th - April 3rd
What: After these happenings. She's in the hospital for a few days before being allowed to head home and some text's to friends.
Warnings: Talks of Blood and injuries.
[Airy doesn't remember the first 12 hours in the hospital which saves her from at least twelve hours of boredom. She isn't good at staying put and thinking about her kidnapping makes her head spin and then hurt. She can't have caffeine or anything else she enjoys because of the medicine they have her taking and the steady stream of blood being pumped into her arm. Her ankle and shoulder are bandaged but the painkillers stop them from hurting.
The worst part about painkillers is that they make it to hard to focus on things like reading or writing but it isn't enough to just knock her out and make her sleep. She ends up playing a lot of candy crush on her phone; after sending a few somewhat awkward texts to those she knew.
Her stomach rumbles and she drops her phone onto her abdomen as if that might make the insistent feeling go away. Airy really likes eating, specifically breakfast, and while the food here isn't awful it isn't very good either. She misses real food and that fact alone makes her sad.]
Text; OPEN
I'm bored. Anyone interested in talking? Or telling me a story? Any distraction?
Private Text; Danny & Dave & Nathan
Thank you for saving me.
Private Text; Cas
Sorry... I have the candy and real, not spidery moving twinkies. Something came up... I don't know when I'll be able to stop by. I haven't forgotten though!
I'll see you soon okay?

No problem. Sneaking extra greasy foods into places is something I'm always game for. [ he's got a bandage around his left hand that goes up over his wrist, where the snake got him. mostly covered by his sleeve but he gives a head shake at the question. he's had way worse. ]
'm all good. Been good. Had a weird dream about dolls but other than that...
no subject
Thanks.
[Her eyes try and catch sight of his hand, knowing that he'd been bitten. At least it wasn't poisonous, just like she said, though that doesn't mean she's not worried about it.]
Sorry. [She replies automatically to the dream comment.] Thanks for the food.
[At the smell and thought of food Airy's expression brightens noticeably. Food makes everything better.] Are you sure you're okay? I mean... you're hand?
no subject
[ airy is so nice. far too nice. nobody thanks him for small little gestures like that. ]
It's not your fault where my weird dreams end up. [ too nice. he feels bad for mentioning that and making her feel guilty for something. none of that is her fault. he's tugging his sleeve down more, mouth in a straight line. unwrapping one of the burgers for himself ]
Way sure. I probably could've just stuck like those tiny single bandaids, maybe with funny emojis on them, but I live with vampires so I over did it.
no subject
Yes but I didn't help. [With the dream thing anyway and Airy finds it very hard not to blame herself for everything that happened.]
I can see how vampires might be a problem.
[She actually understands that and attempts to smile at Dave. Her expression however is weak compared to her usual bright smile.]
no subject
You were kinda busy being kidnapped to help. [ pulling the top bun off and sticking fries on his burger. what a beautiful burger ]
They're, like, legally allowed to eat me over there at night too. And I'm god damn delicious.
[ airy is upset but she still keeps smiling. that's practically unheard of. ]
So. Sorry to dive into this but I'm freakishly curious now and gotta ask. You can summon snakes?
no subject
I'm sure you are delicious but they still shouldn't...
[That sounds weird and before she can dig herself deeper into that thought she registers his question. She almost drops her burger before placing it on the small thin tray in front of her.]
Not exactly. [So much for being normal.
Airy releases a long breath, focusing her gaze on her sandwich.] It isn't that I can summon snakes. I can create... whatever it is I imagine. I can't really control it and it happens on accident a lot and it's not really there but it is.
[She isn't sure if that makes sense.] Like once I stop thinking about it, it goes away.
no subject
an eyebrow quirk at her agreeing he'd be delicious. (oh my god). then paying full attention. genuinely more curious than anything else about it.
it takes a minute to make sure his mouth isn't full to reply. ]
Okay. Not snakes just a sweet voidy power going on or something along those lines. Why was fake you starting shit over it?
no subject
I ran away from home.
[It sounds so lame when she says that out loud.]
I really wanted to be normal. I ended up hurting my friend by accident so I ran right after high school graduation. I don't know why I'm like this but I've been running from that part of me ever since. I guess the other side of me didn't want me to run anymore.
no subject
I'm afraid of my power too. I think everybody is? Especially when it's something where a wrong move can cause serious damage to everyone around you but even when it's minor I think there's this fear even the most confident person has of fucking up big time. There wasn't an option to run and completely way different circumstances on all ends here but I get it. Just wanting to be a normal person doing normal shit but I don't think normal is a thing we're actually supposed to fit in to. It's this abstract construct created by society with impossible goals and some really stupid ideas about how everyone's supposed to act or be. And eventually you gotta realize that there's really no way around yourself and if paradox space wants you to control time or create things out of thin air, that's what's normal now. And your best bet is to learn how to do it or learn how not to do it in the least harmful way possible so you can help people you care about and put your own definition behind the word.
Fake you still had the shittiest way of trying to face an inner conflict but yeah.
no subject
Plus, it isn't so much of a sensitive subject as a confusing one. She's always been fairly honest with people about what's on her mind, the one person she hasn't been honest with is herself. She releases a short breathy laugh at Dave's words, her smile slowly becoming more genuine.]
That's true and I can't really dispute anything you just said. [Not that she wants too.] I just need to figure out how.
[She releases a breath checking that her thoughts are calm.]
If I'm talking to someone then it isn't so hard to control but I don't know how to do it when my mind wanders which happens fairly often and I have to spot myself and I usually freak out and then people think I'm crazy even without random shit popping up all over the place. [Yeah, she swore, clearly you're rubbing off on her Dave.] I just mean that I'm not sure what to do but I want to do something and not have weird panthers go running at my friends.
no subject
[ did she just swear? he is such a bad influence on vocabulary. he's pretty sure he's the reason jade learned the work "fuck" ]
I'm really curious what you were doing with your buddies that your head went to panthers but anyway - and you should probably eat that burger or I'll do it for you - back on topic. Mom can do a voidy thing. Poofing things outta nothing. I don't think she can do it accidentally but if she theoretically pops up you should have like ... a jam session to figure out how to make the thing. I'd offer helpful training but it probably doesn't work the same as time so I've got no helpful sensei wisdom to depart. Unless you need more time to figure shit out then I mean obviously...
no subject
Not that she's complaining.]
I'll eat it.
[She quickly interjects grabbing her burger and taking a bite. The bite she takes is too large and she ends up chewing for an undetermined amount of time that happens to feel like forever. Smaller bites now.]
You can control time?
[That seems like it'll get confusing.]
no subject
Don't ask me how it works with the nitty gritty. Time shenanigans are fucking bananas and you'll get a headache.
no subject
I'll be honest Dave... I'm already confused.
[She then smiles before settling back into her propped up bed. She continues to take bites of her sandwich enjoying the mixture of tastes and delicious fattening food she's come to adore.
As she eats she lets her mind shift through thoughts. If he can go back in time then he should be able to undo everything that happened but the more that Airy thinks about it the more she realizes that she wouldn't want to take anything back. Choices are heavy but they have more meaning when you only get one chance. It sucks sometimes but Airy really thinks it's better that way.
Controlling time sounds like it sucks.]
I enjoy the world not ending.
[She comments lamely while groping for something more to say.]
no subject
[ controlling time sucks. what doesn't suck is the fact that he got himself the large fries and that's just beautiful. he eats them three at a time. ]
Me too. [ the casualness of how he says it really doesn't convey proper thoughts on the matter. the world did end. and then that universe ended. and then the last one will end too when they make a new one. unavoidable, really. ]
no subject
I'll remember that.
[Her thoughts continue to fill and then falter. Spilling like paint on a canvas of white, swirling together and then being washed away by the rain. As her thoughts captivate her she finishes her sandwich and then frowns after realizing it's gone. She misses her hamburger. She begins to snack on what's left of her fries eating one at a time to savor the salty potatoiness.]
It's weird but I think I feel better knowing we both aren't normal... Sorry I lied though. That was pretty lame.
[Airy is pretty lame.]
Oh! I have my phone with me from home and it's charged if you wanted to hear some newer songs.
no subject
his fries got finished to fast to properly appreciate them. the corners of his lips turn slightly town, mourning their loss. he's over it as soon as she mentions music, visibly perking up more than he has the entire time. he was fine talking about what happened or his own abilities but time travel sucks and music does not. a true passion he's always excited about. ]
Yeah? Yes. We can use my sweet new headphones I got in Nova that are fucking sick. [ the pair currently resting around his neck that got visibly lost in his sweater's hood until he lifted them up and over his head to pass to her. ]
I mean, like, literally everything they had had the sound quality of Jesus rocking out with Angels directly inside of your eardrum. None of them had less than 40 MM drivers even the cheap pieces of shit earbuds by their standards so it was a fucking experience. The Golden Ticket to high quality performance of mids and highs with bass turning pure orgasmic chocolate. I mean, I couldn't afford their best ones, which I got to test and wanted to marry and give birth to it's children, but the ones I did get in my broke ass price range are fucking beautiful and you can turn them into speakers.
You should listen to this one track I made last year with these I'd bet it'd sound like how that burger tasted.
no subject
That sounds amazing, can I see? I promise it's just for a second but that sounds so amazing. [Way better than talking about lies and powers. Airy isn't sure if she'll ever forgive herself for lying to Dave like she had.]
They fit in headphone ac ports right? Can we listen at once or will our heads bang together.
[She blinks.]</small Wait what track did you make?
no subject
[ the speakers on the headphones turn outward. he has them plugged into his own phone currently, which he took out of his pocket and started scrolling through his music on. tongue stuck out in slight concentration while he finds one of his tracks. once it's located he plays it, the headphones work loud enough that they can both hear it just fine. they're meant to do. sound quality, indeed. ]
There's, like, I don't know - ten tracks that aren't mine on my phone? I think four of them are Snoop. Where's yours? Does it have new Snoop?
no subject
When the song ends Airy’s grinning at Dave and the lights fade.]
Did you really make that? It’s amazing. Ah, I wish I could do things like that.
[It’s so cool.
Airy pulls out her phone which happens to be a Samsung Galaxy S7. She scrolls through a long play list before looking up at Dave.]
Not much Snoop Dog if that’s what you mean. Some though, I do have 2015’s top 100 songs on a playlist, I started downloading those when I stopped listening to the radio.
no subject
Where'd your head go there? To fireflies or tiny club lights? [ compliment unaddressed. ]
Ah, so you've got the whole selection of popular jams. Is that a guarantee of the quality? I usually didn't trusts those lists. My favorite bands were, like, never on there. [ nobody heard of your bands, dave. ]
no subject
[She waves a hand watching as purple lights fly away from her fingertips and swirl before going out. She pulls her knees to her chest and smiles sheepishly.] I think it's really... pretty.
[Airy assumes that Dave where's sunglasses all the time because he's cool like that. There is a whole song about it.]
It doesn't guarantee quality but outta 100 there are usually at least 50 good songs 20 decent ones and 30 that I slowly begin to delete from my phone. [It isn't so bad plus it gives her new music, though she only downloads the list every few years since there are usually the same songs on the top 100 for awhile.]
What are your favorite bands? Is it stuff like Disturbed because soft metal or good rock are rarely on those lists. I also think I have some oldies on my phone...
no subject
[ ahh. why is he saying things? he watches the lights come and go as quickly as she made them. she's not wrong. they are pretty. it reminds him of his friends. ]
Sounds about right. Most songs on the radio are shit. [ he unplugs the headphones from his own phone, cutting short the next song that started playing, so he could plug them into her phone. ]
Drunk Sylladex, Red With Lemons, Old Domino, Hideous Shit And The Pivotal Stuff... [ casual shrug. nobody's ever heard of his favorite bands. what a fucking hipster. ] What's your most played one?
no subject
huh?
[Airy is a little sad when the song is cut off. She used to play the violin and finds that she really loves the sound. She doesn't argue, however, when he hooks up his headphones into her phone. She suddenly feels like she has to pick a good song to play; sadly the first one up is Matchbox 20, Unwell and she isn't sure if that's a good song or not.]
Oh, I don't think I've heard of any of those. I know Old Dominion but not very well. If you have any of those I'd love to hear them. [She frowns before pausing the song on her phone and gliding through the selections.] What do you want to listen too?
Or most played... ah... that isn't a good song.
[It's just a song that makes her smile.]
no subject
[ he glances at her after cutting off the song, wondering if she was actually listening to that or not with that 'huh?' should he have left it? she didn't say to so it probably wasn't that good. he blames rose and her violin if that's the case. she plays the song and he listens. ]
Old Domino. [ he tips his head down, looking through his phone to double check if he had his bands in there anymore. he pushes his glasses up with a finger when they start sliding down his nose. ] I don't have any. Left them on a different computer. [ he looks up when she stops the song. ]
I know that song. Came out when I was seven or something. MTV couldn't get enough of that shit. [ his head tips back down, going through his phone's music choices again ]
My most played is Space Jam. Just play it.
