Weapons experts.

Kind of without a weapon right now and not even sure if I should get it out of the stupid rock.

[His poor family heirloom. Even if it's probably safer in there than in his hands.]

I'm looking to build my own. It's a tradition where I'm from. I'm also wondering what made you choose yours? If it works for you, there must be a reason.

[Maybe not one of the more hopeful reasons he would have believed in the past. He's done with that. But one that makes sense.]

[ As if Weiss trusts her own judgment anymore. She thought Jaune was the worst, Neptune was dreamy, Battler was great, that she could survive on her own without her family, and that as long as she kept trying things would have to work out eventually. She doesn't trust her own judgment right now, at all. ]

Jaune, I meant that more as "go take a shower and shave your face" than a suggestion.

...Yeah me neither. [He wishes he did and could offer some direction. It would help him feel less helpless and maybe give Weiss a small break.] But I'd rather have the lasers. If we change our minds, we could always disable them.

[Pause. He feels his face and looks confused.] Oh. That's...awkward. [He doesn't even ask if it makes him more rugged.] I forgot to bring a razor.

I want security cameras on the outside too.

[ Maybe it's too much to try to check to make sure that no one's snooping around at night, staking them out.. but it'll make her feel better for every night she doesn't see Battler on them. ]

Just go shower. The welcome center's just across the street, I'll see if we have any of the basic goody bags for newcomers left, there should be one in those.

[ If she was in and out quickly enough she probably wouldn't get caught up. And focusing on getting Jaune to not look like the world's blondest caveman was something to focus on more than any of the thoughts she didn't want to get to her. Keeping busy helped. ]

[It's something they can work on. Maybe they're enabling each other but it's worth it if it makes her feel better.]

It's Nova City, nothing comes in less than HD. I wouldn't be surprised if we could get 3-D.

[ She takes the hint, at least, though it's obvious she's considering insisting again for a brief moment before giving up. 'Feel better' is a questionable assumption. Temporarily distract from feeling is more like it. ]

They have to be fruit trees. I want to be able to yell at Sun for picking all the ones outside of my window.

I want 3-D cameras that sounds really cool.

[Some of the fear leaves his eyes and he doesn't exactly relax but he's less on edge.]

You'd yell anyway. But fruit trees are certainly better.

We can.. [ Aster Technologies has so many issues with cyborgs right now. She's not sure she wants to deal with that. ] There's a new company called Stark I've been meaning to check out. I'll see what they have.

[ She wants to avoid conflict at any cost right now. Probably not good for a Guardian. ]

You yell a little. That's amplified when you're around Sun. [His expression hasn't changed much, his eyes are still dull, but he might be picking on her.]

No, I can do that. My family's company helps develop Atlas's weapons systems, so I at least know the basics even if I don't know how to engineer those sorts of things myself. I may not be a terrible judge of peoples' character, but it's hard to hide shoddy craftsmanship from someone who's been around good work most of their lives.

[ Is that a little pout? Yep. ] Well if I do it's because he did something to earn it.

Okay. But if they have giant fighting robots you need to take advantage of that.

[he doesn't look convinced.] Did he?

Of course I will. I'm from Atlas, where do you think those come from?

[ Wow Jaune, gosh. ] When I'm going to make blueberry froyo and he steals my blueberries, yes. Or when he just pops up in the window no matter what story I'm on, yes. Or if he's refusing to close his shirt at a black tie event, that's also plenty of reason. I don't yell at him most of the time though. I think I yell at you more.

I knew those came from Atlas. I...actually paid attention to that.

How often does he just pop into your window? You probably do yell at me more but out of both of us I'm less likely to pick fruit from the trees outside your window.

It's a little difficult not to notice when we were all getting attacked by the robot army Atlas brought to protect people.

[ Weiss is pretty sure it's all dumb to yell about now. ] Please. He and Neptune climbed up to our dorm room back in Vale when we had first started investigating the White Fang. I have no idea how many people's windows he's climbed up to.

Maybe having them isn't a good idea. Especially since the technology belongs to someone else. [A stranger. Even if they are potentially brilliant.]

It's not something I want to think about. It's kind of weird.

I think it's fine as long as we don't put all of our stock in a single security method.

I'm still not entirely convinced he and Neptune weren't trying to peep that first time.

Why would they need to?

I'd rather have five different types of security than rely on one single person though, you're right. [ If one option is compromised, the others will hold up. That's the idea. ]

Jaune, I know you haven't had to deal with a huge portion of boys trying to flirt with you, but believe me when I say you're not the only idiot when it comes to girls. You're more persistent than most, but I've been subject to so many stupid attempts to get my attention that I dismiss 95% of what boys say when they talk to me if I think they're going anywhere in that direction. Climbing somewhere to only reveal yourself shortly after a bunch of girls finished changing clothes ranks among the stupider ideas, but not the stupidest I've ever witnessed.

So would I. The more vulnerabilities we can cover the better.

I'll have you know that I've probably had plenty of guys flirt with me without me realizing it. Or returning it. [HE PROBABLY HAS but he's just saying it in a border-monotone half-hearted way of trying to fall back into his normal habits.] I just...Neptune and Sun never seemed that du--nevermind, Sun never seemd that dumb.

Try to avoid Aster Technologies for a while though. I know they have good products, but if we can help it not getting our home on the radar of a terrorist group sounds like a plan until that's sorted out.

[ Weiss is trying to keep this conversation up just because it feels so normal. It's the most normal she's felt in weeks. ] Neptune is pretty dumb. Sun.. Sun's not dumb, but he's still a boy. [ Though he does get embarrassed that Weiss knows things from Blake, so she's pretty sure he understands privacy. ] It's still suspicious though.

Not making ourselves a target sounds like a good idea.

Just because he's a guy doesn't mean he'd go that far to see all of you undressing, Weiss. Unless he could hear all of you changing or something before climbing, maybe they had different reasons for climbing up there. Neptune might have been dumb and Sun might have thought it was the easiest way to get your attention.

I know Sun's not dumb, Jaune. Don't worry. If he was looking at anyone it would've been Blake anyway, and she seems okay with it. If I really thought Sun was up to something, I wouldn't have stayed alone in a house with him for the past few weeks. I'm just saying, it seems a little odd that he was up there specifically in front of our window with Neptune at that exact moment.

His timing could have been better. I'm jealous. Your team and Sun and Neptune were having all the fun.

Your team could've had fun too. I mean, Ozpin even changed the lock on the mission we wanted for us since it was supposed to prevent first years from participating. It's not like getting into trouble was difficult. I think I was probably the only one on our team who didn't end up in Ozpin's weird interrogation room at one point and that's only because I got in trouble with my father instead.

Even if we had asked, I kind of doubt Mr. Vague and Pretentious would have done the same for JNPR. What's weird about it? How'd he find out? Did he put a tracker on your scroll?

Well it wasn't like we asked, we just made it clear through past efforts that we were probably mysteriously going to end up exactly where we wanted to be anyway so he figured it would save everyone trouble if he just let us. In retrospect, it's weird that he had an interrogation room at all.

What? No. I mean- for other things. I accessed Schnee Company records from the CCT so we could figure out patterns in the White Fang's shipments and requested not to be transferred to him even though he and Winter were both in his office, and I.. stopped taking his calls shortly before that. Entirely. Unless you meant how Ozpin found out, in which case it's because Ruby's a terrible liar and leaves rose petals everywhere she goes.
