Winter Wonderland Holiday Party

The weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful.
And since we've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

The song is playing in the elevator on the way up to what is normally the meeting hall floor, which has been cleared out so that they could "deck the hall" for the party. It's a Winter Wonderland theme, with white, blue, and silver being the main colors. Which, granted, tends to be a Schnee theme- but it's at least in season this time around. Crystal chandeliers and lights hang from the ceiling, looking like icicles, and there's a frosted tree in the center of the room. Upon closer inspection, it's a croquembouche that's been coated with white chocolate and sprayed with edible glitter, pulled sugar ribbons streaming down the sides of the edible 'tree.'

At each of the tables, there are small gift bags for each of the guests- nothing big, just little samplings of sweets from Cat's Meow Cafes. These are in addition, of course, to the family-style servings at each table of meals. Both chestnut waffles with blackberry-orange syrup and crown roasts were available as main dishes at each of the tables, along with a colorful medley of roasted vegetables and an assortment of different types of freshly baked breads in a basket at each dinner table. Every table also seems to have carefully poached and sliced apples and pears with vanilla or caramel sauce as a dessert. The center of the hall is, of course, cleared out for dancing surrounding a round stage where a live performance from Sonico Super is being performed. Individual orders for drinks (coffee, tea, egg nog for those over 18 only, water, or cider available).

Along the edge of the hall are many gifts lined up with bid tickets and boxes for a silent auction. All proceeds from the auction and ticket sales will, of course, go toward the Genessia Scientific Research Foundation's budget for the next year. Almost strategically, there seems to be a bar located toward the start of the auction traffic manned by After Life staff.

At 9:30pm as the evening winds down, guests will be asked to gather near the windows of the hall to watch the Nova City tree lighting. The view from up above in the tower is amazing, the gigantic tree wholly visible as it lights up on the ground below. The only obstruction of view is the lightly falling snow. If at any point it looked like it would stop snowing, you can bet that Weiss's Castform was up on the roof making sure that didn't happen.

Just as 10pm hits and the party is meant to end, all sides of the hall's glass walls light up with fireworks at once. A beautiful fireworks show finishes off the night.

Truthfully, Adela didn't want to be there -- at least not at first.

Once her coat was checked and she was at the party however, it took some time for Adela to relax. At first, she had been nervously eyeing the other guests, hoping to only see friends and strangers as opposed to... Well, someone in particular.

It was nice to have the entrees and vegetables there at least, as well as to see how everyone else was dressed. The party eventually prompted Adela to let her guard down, enjoy the performance, and even enjoy some conversation with friends and strangers alike.

It should be noted that her favourite part of the night was most likely going to be the fireworks display at the end. What a lovely way to end!

[Anastasia was finally free from her splints to wander at her leisure, and what better place to wander than to a Christmas party? Dressed in her favorite dress for the occasion, and not so much as a coat since her kind thrive in the cold.

She was likely not alone. Her chaperon (not ted) will surely be here shortly. She was, however, definitely there with her pokemon, Sylveon. So in the mean time, while she waits, Anastasia stays near the snack tables, being wary of the colored drinks and scanning the room for familiar faces.]

[Nobody told Abel about the party, and he almost didn't come, but at the last minute, he decided to attend because he heard a lot of people were going. He rent out a tuxedo to wear, fix his hair to have it tied neatly back and make his ends a little extra curly for the elegant look, and then arrive at the ball. He almost look like a noble when he arrived.

Well, he's going to mingle as usual, admiring the catering. Even the food is artistic. Yup, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Ah, he sees his young friend, Princess Anastasia wandering, so he approached her. Smiling warmly.]

Hello Anastasia, how do you do? It seems you feel better from the splints. Have you recovered?

Gale Reinhardt - OTA

[As the owner of the club who so willingly provided the booze, Gale's presence is pretty much required for this particular event. He even dressed up for it as required, though he'll jokingly tell anyone who asks that the formal garb requirement was sprung on him after he agreed to provide drinks so he was wearing because he had to. He isn't really a fan of formal wear, but he didn't mind wearing it every now and then.

In addition to all of the other usual alcoholic drinks one might expect at a party, Gale also provided the new mixed drinks he created for his new club. He at least was nice enough to have a small note warning that AvGas was extremely high in caffeine and alcohol content, but he didn't warn that Afterburner would be served on fire. Since he opted to leave Prism at After Life, he had to have some sort of fun still, right?]


[Dance Floor]

[You can't expect Gale to be manning the bar the whole time (even if the idea of getting everyone plastered before stepping into the auction so they donated more was a hilarious idea). Naturally, it was in his blood to be a dancing show off, which he was particularly good at, but he was even found at the sidelines occasionally.

And at one particular point at the sidelines, he'd notice someone bump into another, causing a drink to spill. His reflexes would kick in and he snapped his fingers, and before the drink would end up on some unfortunate person's nice outfit it was encased in a magic cube of purple ice which bounced harmlessly off the bystander and onto the floor.]

Careful, now. We don't want anyone gettin' any unfortunate stains on their fancy clothing, do we?

As much fun as burning all the alcohol out of a drink sounds.. [ She says as she watches someone stare at theirs in awe, not realizing that there's not going to be any alcohol left in the drink if they keep that up. ] I'm a fan of a good martini.

Kanonno || Open to All

[Kanonno arrives a little late due to the distance and getting lost, but she eventually arrives. She sticks out like a sore thumb due to not being dressed for the holidays, though she didn't really have time to go shopping anyway.

If she was going to really get settled in in this odd new world, she would need to make some friends and acquaintances. She gets distracted by the people on the dance floor and couldn't help but feel a little homesick upon seeing all these people have fun.]

[It's the gentleman with the glasses she spoke with over the video a few days ago. The colonel and the resident school teacher. He decide to attend the party, because he thinks it's interesting that the people who live here celebrate this strange, but rather beautiful holiday.

He remember the young lady, so he approached her, and well, she isn't properly dressed for the occasion, but neither is he. He does wear a modern suit, pair of shoes, and pants to fit in with the fashion of the crowd.]

"Hello. Fancy seeing you here. Having any fun?"

[Of course, not. She's only new and been here for a few days, so perhaps not. With her being homesick.]

Weiss / OTA

[ Weiss looks both more herself than recently and unlike her usual self tonight. For one thing, she's finally decided to start wearing her hairpin tiara again- the item Battler had stolen from her that night and returned on Halloween. This is the first time she's worn it since, but she's trying to show that she's brave enough to do so. A step back toward being herself wholly again, though her outfit for such an occasion is rather different than what she might normally wear. Though it's a similar style to her tastes, the denim material and champagne ribbon would probably make people have to take a second glance to make sure it was her. The new necklace she was sporting that also had a champagne colored ribbon, along with a diamond snowflake and some kind of clearly expensive, practically glowing metal. She seemed to have no problem walking around in very high heels... and she can 100% fight in them with ease, but that's a mystery to solve another day. The outfit matched her plus one, however, who can also be found around the party when they're not spending time bothering each other.

As for where to find her, Weiss can be found pretty much anywhere during the party. She's the host, so she's naturally making sure to manage everything smoothly. If a decoration is out of place, she's there to adjust it. Someone appears to have tried to put a piece of mistletoe up so she's carrying one around with her for a little while until she figures out what to do with it. It may require pulling her aside if anyone wants a dance or to talk- but she doesn't seem to have a problem with it when she's pulled aside. Honestly, it's just nice to get back to something that she enjoys doing and for a good cause on top of that.

Just so long as no one causes trouble, Weiss is likely to stay in a somewhat good mood. ]

[Of course Jaune has to say hi when he sees Weiss. He brightens an approaches her with a coffee. Squints. Stops.] Is that--

Grell | OPEN

[Intending to make a grand entrance, Grell is decked out to the nines, possibly looking overdressed, but as if that would ever bother her. She isn't wearing the usual red, but she's learned that blue looks just as good on her, and it's a gesture towards her husband. She loves her blue sparkle pigeon.

Catch her just stepping onto the scene, or at a refreshments table, where she'll be sampling egg nog and rubbing elbows with various guests. Gotta get them votes! At some point, she'll also be at a dining table, enjoying the food and atmosphere while trying to eat daintily. This dress is going right back where she got it, so stains are out of the question!

She'll definitely partake in a fireworks display, looking up in awe at the show at the colors make it seem like she's changing colors with each pop and burst.]

[Nagisa had looked at the few food items that were around, trying to figure out which to try out first. So much bad food so little time after all. Looking over he smiled slightly.]

Pidonus had chosen to attend in a decently refined form, dressed in a simple, knee-length blue chinese-style dress to differentiate from her usual outfit... Though she still had her usual long gloves and thigh-highs. They were a comforting presence for her on some level.

Her plan for the night was mostly pretty simple: Mill around, maybe meet a few people, and hope nothing like the... Incidents at the Halloween party happened.

Still, it'd be very possible she'd choose to leave early, given the chance...

[Ted doesn't quite remember Pidonus from last time; hard without a proper name. All he has to go on is "immodestly dressed lady", which wasn't quite the case for the formal wear. So he'll greet her with Christmas cheer like it's the first time.]

[ Emerald has done nothing with anything except put a dress on- and only because she needed it to get through the door. It's easy to fake a ticket to sneak in without paying, getting free food without wearing a dress was harder.

Naturally, the only thing Emerald is really going near is the food at first. Later she moves on to just kind of hover around. (What else is she going to do? Work?) ]

[It's nice to see someone she wouldn't mind talking to, even though she should really be talking to far more people, but that can wait a bit. One hand goes to her hip while the other taps her chin in thought. Yes, she's judging her outfit.]

You pull this off quite nicely! [She rubs a shoulder lightly.] I get too finicky with just one strap. I wouldn't make it the whole night.

[One shoulder dresses just felt so...off.]

How do you like it? [Grell looks about the room. She isn't talking about her very sparkly dress, but about the party itself.]

Blaze - OTA

[Blaze had made certain that there was an opening that he'd be able to go to the party, even if for a short while. Mostly it was so that he could donate, but he did need a small break. On top of keeping an eye on everything in Attleton, he'd been busy getting toys to gift to children, so his time was scarce. He'd shown up in the same suit he'd worn at the masquerade in May, since, well... it would have been silly for him to buy another formal outfit for a different event when this one was perfectly fine.

He could mostly be found around the windows, gazing out at the falling snow with a glass of egg nog in his hand. He hadn't quite gotten to the 'socializing' part yet and right now, he was more focusing on the surprisingly relaxing atmosphere that the color scheme of the halls provided.]

[ There's a little wiggle of the fingers from this blonde bombshell (just as explosive as she is blonde). She just wants to say hi! And she definitely has a martini in hand. ]

Ayame Sasaki | OPEN

Arrival:

[ Ayame had to spend the entire day just to prepare for this party, with most of it spent on calming her nerves and her racing heart that feels so anxious for reasons she can't pinpoint. It feels funny that she'd rather go into the middle of an intense firefight than a social gathering like this. But Satsuki had invited her to go, which added more pressure since she didn't want to disappoint anyone by cancelling at the last minute. So after giving herself a pep-talk in front of a mirror just as her ride arrives, Ayame fixes her updo then takes a deep breath and went to the party...

A while later, her arrival at the Guardian Skyrise filled her with a sense of awe. It felt like she's in the final chapters of a fairy tale, like a princess going to the long-awaited ball. As the limousine stops to drop her off, Ayame steps out to reveal the dress she made for herself, just for this very occasion. With colors inspired by Satsuki's Junketsu, and the symbolism of butterflies about metamorphosis, she proudly makes her way to the event space. It felt appropriate, all of a sudden, since Ayame does feel like a changed woman. It is the first time in a while that she flashes a genuine smile, just as the elevator bell rang and opened up. She whispers to herself: ]

It's time...

Bar:

[ ... to drink, apparently. Because all of that pep-talk could only last her so much that she needs the liquid courage right now to recharge. After appreciating the decor of the party, Ayame eventually found her way to the bar. She immediately ordered right before her fingers could tap themselves on the glass surface of the bar ]

Give me a Scotch. Neat. And make it a double, will you?

[ Ayame puts a few bills on a make-shift tip jar on the counter. Then, she looks to either side if there are any familiar faces and pretty outfits around. Once she gets her drink, Ayame raises her glass to greet the person next to her ]

Hello. You look wonderful.

Dance Floor:

[ After getting her dose of the good stuff, Ayame sat in one of the tables by the dance floor. She didn't know if she wanted to dance. Well, she did, otherwise going to this party would be a complete waste. But seeing as everyone has a partner, she didn't know how to put herself out there. People switch partners so fast that she can't find one who's available even for a second. With a sigh, she rests her chin on her hand while she swirls her drink in another just as another song plays ]

Huh... This song seems to be in every universe I go to. I wonder why.

[ Ayame thought out loud, shaking her head in dry amusement and not aware of the other wallflowers close to her who might have heard that. Putting her drink down, Ayame worked up the courage to stand up and find someone. It took some searching, but she eventually finds someone else like her ]

Do you want to keep staring at everyone else, or do you want to dance?

Tree Lighting & Fireworks:

[ Just as she's feeling ready to leave, her spirits are instantly lifted at the announcement of the tree lighting and the fireworks that will come afterwards. Watching by the window with her drink in hand, Ayame watches the event unfold. The view from the tower was already amazing, but it only got to be breathtaking once the tree lights up. The falling snow may be cold, but the sight has filled Ayame with a warm feeling in her chest that made her gasp audibly in awe. Another smile forms on her lips as she feels another rush of happiness flood her conscious mind. ]

Ohhh...! I should have brought my camera.

[ Ayame thought out loud again, with a sigh this time. But she couldn't sound disappointed even if she tried. The lightshow was just so warm and brilliant unlike the city lights she's so used to by now. The Christmas themed lights on the tree feel more serene. If this is already pretty great, she can't wait for the fireworks! ]

Bar Time!

*Once her performance was over and she'd taken a small break, Sonico had headed straight for the bar. She had just ordered a glass of champagne when the woman next to her said something. It took Sonico a moment to realise that she was talking to her, and when she did she looked surpised*

[ It's too bad they'd been too busy at Nakiba for the holidays to help out with the volunteer offerings, but it looks like they turned out alright. (Not as good as theirs in her opinion, but they were still acceptable!) Alice had wanted to attend the party though, so she'd made sure that they had a special lunch menu this week so they could close up early and attend the party. It would help not split the crowd for dinner, too. That's helping, right? Right.

Anyway, Alice is dressed in a festive outfit, complete with a Santa hat that she's been putting on other people, then grabbing back later. Want to interact?

[ Liv is going around the party, just looking generally pleasant but also occasionally looking around to make sure no one's watching. Probably because she's the one sneaking mistletoe up around the decorations even if they weren't there originally. She's got something of a romantic brain right now and wants to set people up. Oops.

Best to avoid her if she knows you well enough to decide to try to make sure you don't go home alone. ]

[He might get kicked, or punched, or shrieked at, but what the hell, it might be worth it. In spite of his size, Namur's good at circling prey until the last moment, then striking- or, in this case, waiting until Liv is reaching up to place some mistletoe and grabbing her around the legs and lifting, giving her a boost so she can reach. He grins up at her, and the expression is friendly enough if she can manage to see past the rows and rows of razor sharp teeth.]

[Karla's outfit for this party only seems like a minor alteration of what she normally wears. Of course, she still has both swords at her sides, and her lucemite earrings and choker complement her look quite nicely.]

[Like before, she'll be dancing alone on the floor, probably looking ridiculous, but feeling good nonetheless. And then she'll visit the refreshment stand for a bite or a drink.]

[And of course she'll step outside and admire the fireworks. It's the little things that count, after all.]

Jaune | OTA | Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen V.4 Ep.1 yet

[Jaune made an effort. Sort of. His outfit consists of a jacket that highlights his favorite hoodie with an interesting symbol on it. A pair of gray combat boots and black dress pants complete the outfit.

When he's not enjoying the party, he occasionally approaches the bar to try and convince any of the staff for a drink with actual alcohol. He can be found staring at the tree lighting in awe. He's also paying attention to the party-goers. With Weiss busy hosting, he's keeping an eye out for any potential threats.

It's possible he approaches your character wrongfully (or accurately) assuming they are one of those threats.]

[Nora finds it unfair that guys can look comfy AND formal while girls can only be either or, but not both! So she's definitely grumpy when she finds Jaune and his bunny hoodie.]

[ This is a televised event, it said it right on the invitation. The one in charge of this is the sharply dressed (with the exception of the socks and shoes) blond kid holding the microphone being followed by the TV cameraman. The cameraman looks exactly the same. Almost as if he's the same person abusing time manipulation to be the entire film crew or something. Weird.

There's a camera in two different locations at the party, at the same time. The feed will cut to the other camera if the location of one isn't particularly interesting enough.

Hot spots include; By the elevator catching entrances and exits, just off the dance floor either directed at the dancers or the current performer, and at the edge of the hall near the auction.

At any point, he's likely to wave you over to try and catch a quick interview. ]

Hey. How's it going tonight? You having a fuc--[ he pauses putting a finger to his earpiece ] What? I wasn't gonna curse on the air again. Don't scold me. [ EHEM ] Anyway, party-goer. What's shakin'?

[Hearing Dave speak makes Grell turn around and take in his ensemble of choice. The suit is fabulous. The socks and sneakers make it...cute. He still pulls it off well. Good job. It's quite a contrast to her own evening wear.]

Ah, Mister Strider, correct? [She holds a glass of something clear and sparkly. Is she trying to stay sober during the evening? Probably. For now. Best not to get too sloshed before elections.] I'm having a wonderful time here! If I had known the decor would be this scheme, I would have made a grander entrance!

Wearing a white dress with winged white sneakers, Nora is mostly seen doing a public service by eating their slowly-growing-cold waffles. Surely they can put out fresh ones, right? Other times, she's either checking out the nicely wrapped presents, looking in awe as the tree gets lit up, or simply walking around and taking pictures of food for her blog. Or even people.She's definitely taking selfies, so feel free to be in the background, willing or not!]

[As Nora finishes a bite on one particular waffle, she hears a tiny little 'aw' from one side. Turning to look, she'd see a blonde-haired girl in a blue chinese-style dress, with gloves and stockings (and, unusually for Pidonus, not her usual hat).

Looking at the now-empty plate, almost forlorn.]

Oh waffle, you passed so young...

[... Fortunately, with that word choice and a melodramatic tone, it didn't seem that Pidonus was actually taking this too seriously.]

Yukiko Amagi | Open

[OOC: Yukiko's dress for the party. Comes with silver shoes with a snowflake onthe front along with a snowflake styles headband.]

[Yukiko had taken her shall off when she first entered, keeping it on her arm for the time being, while holding a little res carry purse with her as she admired pretty much everything about the whole thing. It was beautiful, it must have taken ages to pull off.

First things first she moved over towards a near by table, taking a look at what there was to offer.]


[She also spent some times lingering around, walking up to people with a sweet smile upon her face.]

[When she wasn't going around either eating good or being social she could be found at the end of the night when she was simply watching the fireworks, enjoying the last moments of the night.]

[Grell, wearing something blue and flashy, really doesn't mind having a conversation with her. She places a hand on her hip as she looks Yukiko over.]

And here I thought only I could pull off red. Fashionable and bright. The world needs more of that.

Sonico - Open!

*Anyone expecting to see Sonico at the event would discover on arrival that she isn't there. Nowhere to be seen. Sorry, Sonico friends. After the party had been underway a while, though, the reason would be clear.

Performance:
The band would start up the music, and Sonico would appear on stage. Her performance would cover a variety of numbers - soft, slow and romantic, songs that are more upbeat and exciting, to some jazzy traditional Christmas tunes. In all, it's a different performance from what Sonico is used to doing, because she has to perform such a variety of songs. Still, she sings well, and people seem to be enjoying themselves. The stunning dress she is wearing adds to the effect, glittering as she moves.

Bar:
After her performance, Sonico disappears again to wind down and get changed. Then she would reappear, transformed in a different outfit, and head straight for the bar. A large class of sparkling wine will do the trick.

Auction:
Sonico makes a lot of money, but she doesn't spend it. What better way to give back to the community than to spend a lot of cash on the silent auction? She has placed a high bid for absolutely everything - after all, it's all going to scientific research.

Tree Lighting and Fireworks:
Just Sonico, standing in awe, gazing at the tree and the snow and the fireworks. Feel free to pester her - she seems to be enjoying being on her own too much*

After Sonico's performance, after she's been at the bar for some time, the singer might notice Sakuya some distance away, stepping between a gentleman and the bar. They talked for a moment before he left, the maid moving toward the other end of the bar to pick up a drink of her own.

Though pretty soon she was out and about again, cutting off the same man, her expression a bit more curt this time, a finger tapping her left leg. A habit she had at the diner when she was somewhat bothered but was trying not to show it. Again, the man turned and moved to the other side of the party, the silver haired woman letting out a sigh and taking a rather large gulp of her drink...

Sakuya was very familiar with scumbags and could spot them with relative ease. And she'd be damned if she let one of them pester her friend. The only thing keeping her from actually gutting him was the risk of staining her white dress... Then again red was considered a festive color, wasn't it?

Chiaki Nanami | Open

[Chiaki had never really been to a formal event before, she was always that type of person who wouldn't go or if they did would just stay in the background to play a handheld game or something. But today she wasn't doing that at all. Instead she was going with someone and she was going to make sure she went and had fun and made memories.

While others were wearing very formal gowns, Chiaki instead had found herself wearing a different style of dress. She did however at least try and wear low heeled shoes, but still higher than what she was use to along with wearing her hair up with clips based on various games.

Sure it wasn't formal for some, but for her it was at least a start. She even wore a sparkling jacket without a hood for a change to at least try and go outside the comfort of that clothing. As she looked around, she was planning on what to do next.]

Silent Auction
[Chiaki thought she might as well help out by placing a couple of bids. But as she looked over them, she was extremely unsure as to which one. So she moved along and started to ponder, finger lightly tapping her chin.]

Which one should I go for?

[Yashiro comes up to Chiaki, who he'd invited as his date. He has two drinks in hand. Presumably he'd gone off to get drinks for the two of them and was now returning. He'd gone for something that actually did fit the criteria of dress for tonight. Even though hers probably isn't what the hostess had in mind, Yashiro didn't see anything wrong with it.

Knowing what she liked, it made sense that she might enjoy wearing something themed after it. He offered a drink to her.]

Konoka Konoe | Open!

This party looks great for her! After spending the better half of the year cooped up and making plans to leave Everglade, it was nice to actually socialize, and not feel gloomy over her circumstances. She was nearing a year here in Genessia, and she didn't want to spend that anniversary gloomy!

For the most part, Konoka would arrive when the Winter Wonderland had just got started. Dressed in a sharp, ornate white kimono, Konoka would also be escorted by a small, chibi-fairy-like version of herself dressed the same way, a charm made from her magic. She'd spend most of her time chatting and sampling food, up until Sonico's concert kicks in. From there, she'd hover to the front, listening to her performance and cheering her on between songs.

She'd also take her bets with the silent auction, mostly to help out than to score anything good.

Once the event winds down, Konoka would spend more of it gazing at the fireworks and the lighting of the tree. She might seem a little more lonely, however, if left to stare at it for too long...

Earlier in the night, Konoka would, almost inevitably, end up spotting a certain hairstyle in a blue chinese-style dress. Pidonus, at first, would simply nod to Konoka, acknowledging her presence. A little later (though still well before the concert), she'd finally come up.

"Hey. How goes it?", she'd ask, angling more towards casual behavior than any larger goal.

Liora | Open

[Liora isn't entirely sure why she decided to come. Sure, her hatchday is only a week away, but given what had happened to her home, she isn't in much of a mood to celebrate. Perhaps it was curiosity that had gotten the better of her again. Since the event required formal attire, Liora decided to play it safe and throw on a dress that she managed to procure. Hopefully this is formal enough?]

[She still isn't sure what to do, so she just observes from the sidelines. Eventually, she decides she can't get a good enough view from there, so she tries to fly across the room and perch herself on one of the chandaliers. Unfortunately, the arms of the chandalier are too tight for her to squeeze into, so she falls out and hits the floor with a soft thud. She picks herself up and glances around, more embarrassed with herself than anything.]


[Later that night, Liora observes the tree lighting and the fireworks, mesmerized by the beauty of both shows. The perfect blend of light and darkness, reminding the little Fae of the important balance between the elements. The balance of light and darkness that Erebus is seeking to snuff out. As the fireworks lit up the night sky, Liora gazes at them, once again thinking of her missing comrades. But she wouldn't cry anymore. She'd have to fight in order to see the beautiful lights like this again.]

[In one week, she would be a year old, and she's already endured too much in her young life...]

[Ted didn't really understand clothes on dragons; they seemed too beastly to have much use or aesthetic for them. But when he sees Liora's getup, he's impressed. Using her wingspread like drapes, as well as orange robes definitely gets his attention and his compliments.]

"Oh, Liora! Another party, another appearance. You look lovely in that, whatever it is. How have things been?"

[He sounds concerned. At first, he was stern and harsh with her, because her predecessor had made a grave mistake, and he didn't want her to relapse into the same deadly, self-indulgent nostalgia. But he hadn't heard news of any more subarchways, and he was starting to think that maybe sympathy and understanding would work better than finger-wagging. Some people just needed the support, perhaps.]

Athrun | Open

[Tonight, Athrun has chosen to wear his uniform for the occasion. After all, it does fit in terms of color scheme. It's almost ironic that the nation it represents is a tropical one.

For the most part, Athrun looks comfortable throughout the party tonight. He's been to plenty of parties before now, including here in this realm. That said, he hasn't been socializing much. He's been enjoying the food and walking around, mainly looking for people he knows who he can talk to. He's also fine with being approached by others, for the most part.

For a while, Athrun stops just off the dance floor and watches Sonico perform. He can't help but idly wonder if she'll get to take a break, as he'd like to dance with her at least once tonight. He also can be found perusing the auction contents, and occasionally making a bid. Or he's sitting at a table, eating some of the delicious food that has been provided.]

*Sure enough, Sonico is given a break and, once she's got herself a glass of champagne, she makes her way over to have a look at the auctions. Standing next to him at the table, Sonico leans in as he signs his name to a bid*

*Hopefully he wasn't concentrating too much on what he was doing because she doesn't want to startle him*

Xander | Open

[Xander isn't dressed particularly special by his standards for tonight, because the outfit he came in wearing works perfectly fine for such an event -- minus some of the armor, of course. He also left Siegfried at home this time, figuring it wouldn't be becoming of him to bring a weapon to a party. Especially a divine weapon like his sword.

Of course, since he's running for a guardianship position, he has to field all sorts of questions from others about his campaign and what he plans to do if he wins. He's up to the task, but it does wear after a while.

Fortunately, that's not all he's stuck doing at this party. He has plenty of time to himself, and he'll make use of it by enjoying the food and participating in the silent auction. Or maybe he'll just walk around for a while with a glass of eggnog and look for people he knows.]

[That's too bad, cause a divine weapon would make him absolutely joyous, were Santa kind enough to give him one.

He's been wanting to talk to Xander for a while. Mainly to assuage his guilt; he voted for him over Satori, largely because the latter seemed unwell, and Xander looked capable enough. Maybe he'd let her on as a deputy, just to ease things?

It's hard to think of something to say, underneath that gravity. Politeness demanded that they leave talk of politics at the door, for some reason, so he can't directly address any of that. And even then, Xander looked like the kind of person who's not much for conversation anyhow. That perma-scowl...well, there's nothing for it. Nothing ventured, right? A man dressed far more gaily than he felt approached.]

"Hello, Mr. Xander, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Ted. I've noticed your accomplishments in the realm of bounty hunting; it's very impressive. How do you manage to accomplish so much? I always have a hard time merely finding the scoundrels."

Satori & Koishi ღ OTA

Arrival
The youkai sisters arrived without fanfare, each dressed in formal attire. Koishi's kimono was deep green and trimmed with lighter woody patterns and white petals. Her hair was carefully done up with several ornaments that chimed softly when they touched. This left her scar on full display, but so long as no one touched it she would be fine. Satori wore a kimono of soft reds, roses and pinks, the colours easily blending into each-other. It was rather warm for winter, but might remind one of a quiet fireplace or a gentle sunset. Her hair was rather neatly adorned with a hair decoration resembling a small brass heart over where her head-artery ended. Her hairstyle wasn't too much of a change from the norm, even if it was slightly swept back. Each had their third eyes carefully bound so that the arteries would not get in the way.

Satori looked almost unsure of herself, considering how little of a high society footprint she seemed to emit. She brought her Murkrow along for some extra help preventing any psychic feedback from ruining her evening. "It's been some time since we've done much, together, Koishi. Don't run off for too long, would you? I would like to find you by the end of the evening..." A faint little chuckle. Her dry humor was in full swing.

"Okay." The little sister just sort of waved her hand dismissively, her third eye swaying a little, despite the restrictions. "I smell food though. We should eat soon, okay Sis?" She took Satori by the hand, smiling brightly. "Just worry about having a good time."

Koishi
Once arrived, the sisters didn't hang around each other for very long, the younger of the two scampering off to do what she did best. Bother people. Though, at the same time, she did seem to be paying attention and would always gravitate back to rescue her sister from a crowd. And, undoubtedly, she would be back in time to actually eat dinner.

Once dinner was concluded could be found hanging out around the bar or simply wandering. And a short time later someone might notice that the edible tree in the center had a taste taken out of it... Nothing too big, but certainly enough to annoy anyone who put the party together. After that she moved to the dance floor, moving to one wall to watch the humans move about, a glass of spiced wine in hand. Who knows? might even accept a dance if she's asked nicely enough... and doesn't get too excited. After all, she's been fairly well behaved, remaining polite and surprisingly lucid throughout the entire thing.

At least, Until the fireworks.

The explosions made her antsy and excited, wanting to go out and shoot off some danmaku of her own. She could be found with her breath fogging the window, shifting excitedly as she soaked in the wonder and joy of the room.

Satori
Satori had taken her time with her dinner. As typical of her, the reserved youkai was always quite neat and never let a scrap go to waste She might be seen trying to withhold Koishi from trying to eat far too much than she could manage on her own, or otherwise keeping the Koiball from a social faut-pas. While a fish out of water in most public situations, so she claimed, perhaps her sly demeanor and wit might strike a chord with some people as entertaining.

Some time later in the evening, she'd found herself a small drink, never quite leaving Koishi out of sight as she returned to her table. She'd have to remind Koishi, when it was time to head home, after all. Her best efforts to keep an eye on her sister were stymied when someone had asked to dance. The stranger passed off her reluctance as shyness, the mind-reader finding herself thrown into a situation she didn't expect. She learned quickly, trying to read every move as it happened. It wasn't that easy, and while she stayed in line with what was going on, it was more than a bit challenging.

As the night drew to a close, however, and fireworks lit up the skies, Satori had some time to herself, as well. Satori wasn't one to jump at the sight of fireworks. That wasn't quite her style, the youkai staying back for the time being and keeping a close eye on her sister. Murkrow, when not serving as relief to Satori, kept an eye on Koishi when she couldn't, as much as it could manage!

Departure
Once Satori had peeled Koishi's face from the glass at the end of the show it was time for them to leave, the sisters actually moving to leave once a number of guests had filtered out. Koishi was visibly more excited and Satori, as usual, had to spend time calming her sister, lest she get harder to handle. Despite that, Satori seemed to legitimately enjoy it, and through most of the night had felt at ease. Perhaps it was because of Koishi that she felt unthreatened in public. It had truly been a wonderful night for both of them.

Let's make this official, shall we?

And Liora was at the party, just as reserved, if not more so, than Satori. The little gold dragon was wandering around the room herself, observing the people. She kept an eye out for someone she may have met before, but perhaps she should try to meet new people as well? But try as she might, she couldn't work up the courage to approach anyone...

But she did notice one excitable-looking girl bothering people. It made the little dragon even more nervous, but at the same time, she couldn't help but be a little envious. So Liora will simply continue to observe. Would the youkai notice her?

Yang Xiao Long | Open

Yang was already at the party, having helped out with the set up and moving things around, especially the heavier objects that normally would require a team of people to move. She's had enough time to change out into her smooth gold dress and gold high heels. The blonde somehow doesn't seem to be bothered by the cold, in fact she's pretty warm if anyone is near her. Her metal right arm is uncovered, though it looks like there's been some work done to make it more resistant to the cold weather.

Throughout the party, she'll be here and there, drinking eggnog, or partying on the dance floor. She's a busy bee as she moves around, maybe she'll be drinking something a little stronger than just eggnog too?

When Athrun spotted Yang, he was on his way away from where the silent auction was being conducted, having put in some bids himself. Tonight he'd decided to wear his military uniform, which ended up matching the general color motif of the party quite well.

When he saw her, he waved and approached. She had been facing in his general direction, so it would have been easy to see him. When he got into speaking range, he smiled.

"You look great tonight. Enjoying yourself so far?"
