I - Darkness Event

What: Darkness Event
Who: Lucifer and Everyone (with your choice of NPC involvement)
Where: Genessia City (Four other cities and dimensions gates are excluded)
When: July 17, 2014
Warnings: Possible deaths. Horror. Flames. Darkness. Lightning. Falling Debris. People falling off buildings.

I

From the highest building of Genessia city emerged a dark and unwavering light. It lifted up into the heavens. It brought with it obsidian smoke swirling around the light as if a shroud of darkness. In an instant the bright skies lost its light. Thick black clouds descended from the heavens. They tossed, tumbled and seemingly kissed the city's skyline. It was noon and yet the sun was no where in sight. With all light, it stole all happiness from people who saw the dreaded skies.

Loud booms, sizzles and crackles were heard beyond the clouds - as if a prelude to the coming event. This lasted a while before everything became hauntingly silent. Nothing could be heard. Everything, from the ground to the skies were silenced.

Waiting.

Aching.

And finally welcoming.

The skies glowed eerily. Dark hues of crimson, azure and silver lined certain portions of the skies. Then a white light glowed. A light which ripped through the space between ground and skies, leaving a crisp sound in its wake. The lightning bolt was strong enough to make the very ground quake at its presence. After a moment of silence, similar bolts of lightning hit different areas of the city. Continuously. Relentlessly.

Following the thunderstorms, came a foul stench raining from the skies. It smelt like rotten eggs. Suffocating. It was Burning Sulfur. With the stench came black flaming orbs which plummeted wantonly on the buildings of Genessia City. It burned anything it could get its hands on.

The terrible weather continued for at least five minutes after it had started. Never softening. Just ending abruptly after it had left most of the city in flames.

II

Not too long after the skies started to brighten, after people assumed a crude state of sanity, an ominous circle of light emerged on top of Genessia Hospital. For a few seconds, there was nothing but silence. But slowly, the circle of light expanded its terrain. Soon, it was large enough to cover the entire medical building. But still it remained silent. For people who have affinity for arcane magic, they can sense the power flowing through the circle - an energy devoid of any positive light.

A minute after the circle first appeared, the land beneath it started to quake. Every pillar and every wall shivering and threatening to fall. Then, the same fire storm that was released around the city was concentrated to fall upon the hospital building. A barrage of obsidian flames fell to the building one after another. Never stopping until the building itself hasn't fallen. After the building has crumbled the flames slowly dwindled into the bright glow of scarlet flames.

((OOC: Each part here comes after each part from Lucifer's Video Feed. So Part I from the feed comes before Part I of the Log. Each section here will be divided to sections deemed appropriate for the event. Any further questions can be addressed from the ooc-community post or from this journal. Fights Lucifer will get into are limited due to ic (after his little show, it'll be too much if he can still fight a horde of people) and ooc reasons (basically too many fights will drive me bananas).))

"A fool is throwing a tantrum."

He replied solemnly. He was ready to rip off wings when he saw the damn angel next time. He would do what he could to get the mother fucker back for endangering Kurenai. He didn't like it at all that she was hurt in some way. He didn't want to be reminded that she could die.

Kurei turned towards her as she wrapped her arm around his elbow. He didn't say anything for a moment, listening to the sounds of destruction behind them as he walked her the opposite.

"No. Even that idiot, wouldn't do something so careless."

"A tantrum?", she repeated as she walked side by side with Kurei. Her lids pulled open. This was a tantrum? "But this is a hospital. How could anyone do that?" At least she could breath easy that it wasn't Mister Mori. Based on Kurei's response, she was sure it wasn't Rekka either.

Kurenai walked at his pace as she looked up to meet Kurei's eyes. She was at least certain that they were both walking to safety. Or at least she was certain that Kurei would lead them to safety. "You didn't meet with the guy doing this, did you?"

"Yes."

Like him in the past, who had instilled fear on people by the flick of his fingers. He could tell that this 'Lucifer,' was capable of such things if not more. He didn't seem to care for the lives that were left for dead because of Lucifer but he tried to hurt Kurenai, so hell would be brought to him, king of hell or not. Whatever he was, Kurei will rip his wings off.

"Because they are fools."

He replied giving no other answer than that when she asked, "No, but I will gladly rip off his wings when I do."
scarletrose: <user name="yujweh"> (Oh Dear me~)

Aren't you so glad Lucifer could never kill Kurenai, or use her as leverage?

[personal profile] scarletrose 2014-08-08 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Kurei!", she said with a warning tone as she kept walking with him. Her brows furrowing. No. She doesn't want anything bad to happen to Kurei. She loved him too much. And he didn't have his death squad here. Uruha wasn't here. So Kurenai just clutched his arm tightly as she kept eye contact with him.

"I know you're strong. You're very powerful.", she said lowering her voice a bit. "Is it wrong that I'm worried about you! What if he tries to attack you personally. For him to use people important to you as, 'leverage', like Mister Mori did with your mother and..."

Kurei would murder him if he could. Not gonna lie D|

His expression did not change when she called his name. He had already warned her that he was not going to falter. What he did and what he will be doing will be to his own judgement. She could protest but it didn't mean he would let her tame him. Kurenai was precious to him and he would do whatever means was necessary to remind people that she was under his protection. He was plenty capable without his Uruha. If they end up with him, then he will have use for them, if not he could defend himself.

The name made his expression twist.

"I will kill him. I will rip off his wings and I will tear his limbs piece by piece until he is no longer recognizable!"

He snapped, anger filling his body a the name, "MORI KOURAN WILL DIE...I WON'T REPEAT THE SAME MISTAKE WITH HIM AS I HAVE WITH MORI KOURAN!"

LEVERAGE?! What leverag?! He was not repeating that mistake. He was not going to let anyone bind him by force. He didn't want his loved ones to be used.

"I'LL FUCKING KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM IF I HAVE TO!"

That fucking monster, Jigoku and Mori were dying. They'll die, and rot. He knows it will happen when he gets his hands on him. He'll pay them for all the bullshit he had to deal with.

Even so, Kurenai couldn't help but worry for the man she loved. He was sweet and thoughtful at times. But she can never erase the part of him that was scarred through the years. She will always try to warn him and keep him from doing things that might end up hurting him in the future. But reality was, if she was given the option of seeing the world burn versus seeing Kurei burn, she'll gladly sacrifice the world. Because she'd never allow a single hair in Kurei's body be touched by someone.

She didn't mean to make Kurei angry. All she wanted was to make sure Kurei was not going to place himself in a dangerous position. Kurenai threw her arms around Kurei. She wrapped her arms around her. Her face hidden from him as she pushed it against his chest. "I'm sorry", she whispered.

"It's going to be alright", she said comfortingly. "I promise I will do everything I can to make sure that never happens again. I promise I will make sure you no longer have to worry about other people doing that to you"

She could think that all she wanted but he wasn't always there. Maybe that sliver of kindness was because of her. It only existed because she and his mother taught him what kindness was. He was bound to it. He didn't hate, but he hated Mori for exploiting it and using it to his favour. It put Kurei on a leash for Mori to do as he pleased and it only pissed him off more and more thinking about it.

He calmed down, but his expression was half twisted, and still not fully collected. He was breathing but he was still angry. That name. Every time, was a trigger. A fucking trigger. He needed to find a way back so he could kill him and rip him to pieces.

"Kurenai you cannot promise what you can't keep."

He replied after a moment, his tone cold, "When we return to our own worlds, you will no longer exist as a human but we'll walk the path together...always... but I will kill them. I'll kill anyone that tries to hurt you."

Kurenai simply embraced him tighter. No matter what she does, she can never deny that. She can't deny that when he gets back to their world, she can no longer follow him. He said 'goodbye' to her already. She envied Yanagi, she still had a body to go back to. Her body died over five years ago when the curse of the Hokage was lifted. No matter how much he wanted to go back to Kurei, she couldn't. She just had to satisfy herself with his promise that they will see each other again, one day.

"I'm sorry", she whispered in a low tone.

But she couldn't tell him that at the moment. She can't tell him she was forced to leave his side since he no longer had the ability to keep her soul attach to his. She cried quietly against Kurei's chest. If they both went back to their world this very instant, she could no longer see him. This was the last time she'll ever see Kurei.

"Can you promise me that we'll be together until then? Can you promise me you'd protect yourself aside from protecting me?"

Kurei didn't want her to cry for him. Somethng like this was not worth crying for. What he was capable of of and why he was the way he was, didn't matter to Kurenai. She was not the cause of it. She was part of it but not by choice. Mori pushed her into that situation and killed her as easily as he took her in. He hated Mori, but he had grown to be somewhat similar to that bastard.

"You have nothing to apologize for, Kurenai," his tone was even but his expression remained disoriented behind the mask. Mori would die. He will die. Jigoku will die. That was all he was aiming for. That was what he needed to do.

"I've always protected myself Kurenai. I would not die easily, and there is nothing I can promise."

Because they will never really know.

He changed, all because of Mister Mori. Kurenai didn't ask Kurei to revert back to before her death, or perhaps the state before he had met her. That was asking for the impossible. Also, that would change him too much. Regardless of who Kurei was now, Kurenai loved him. Kurenai loved all of him. She loved his kindness and his gentleness, just as much as she loved his strength and determination. Someone who was weak would have fallen long ago and would have never stood up. He could have run instead. So what if Tsukino died, if it meant he would live a peaceful life, if it meant he wouldn't have so much blood in his hands, if it would mean finally escaping Mister Mori, it would be worth it. And yet, Kurei wasn't like that. He still had that kindness that would never allow such a horrible fate to befall the woman who cared for her.

Kurenai was not a fool who would blindly obey Kurei, but she would always choose him above anything else. Kurei mattered more than anything to Kurenai. She will never break their promise to each other. Regardless of what road their lives take them too, Kurenai will follow him. She was not a fool to believe that their lives will be peaceful or normal, but she will give him that small measure of happiness. When the world becomes too crazy for him, when things go explicitly bad, when everything he knows changes and betray him, he will always have the comfort of knowing that in this world, Kurenai will be there for him.

She held him tightly and tried her best not to get his robes too wet with tears. She knows his strength, but a huge part of her still wanted to protect Kurei from everything. He's always protected people he cared about, failed at times, but still tried. He needed more people like the Jyuushinshuu to protect him. "I know that. But you can't keep me from worrying still. You're very important to me. You're my world, Kurei", she said softly. A truth which she wished she could have always told him whenever he felt sad or alone after her death.

haahahaha oh god Kurenai stop D|

[personal profile] scelus_sceleris 2014-08-15 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
That was impossible. He was not that same naive kid he was when he was younger. He was much different now, eyes opened to all the possibilities in the world. He clearly wasn't going to revert or change because of anything. That was how he was. He didn't need to justify it. He'll just be himself. That was it. He walked over corpses to get where he was right now, so even with Kurenai that would not change.

Tsukino was his adopted mother. She held him when he had no other place to go. She did not fear him and he hated being violent in front of her-- just as much as he hated being violent in front of Kurenai, but Kurenai saw the extent of his carnage. That was the true fact. Even if she was a soul, she could see everything. Kurei knew that. At least, he got experience the world with her, even if she changed a bit.

He did not want her to be someone who would follow blindly. She had her will and her rights. She could say what she pleased and he would not condemn her. She could hit him without having to worry about getting retaliated. If it wasn't for his emotions, she would have been able to live. That was a known fact. He was the bomb that set off Mori. That fucking thing was going to die He knew it was. He knew that she loved him and she wouldn't leave him or betray.

Much like his own team. Raiha, Neon, Jisho, Joker, and Kurenai. They have always stood with him. Kaoru was a different story, but Kurei was the one that pushed him away, but Kaoru had always been a part of his life, regardless of how he behaved and how cold he had been. It was a lie to say he didn't care when Kaoru left. Killing him was not an option-- even Joker knew that and Joker did things his ways always. His body shook at the remembrance of Joker.

"As you are mine, Kurenai. We'll keep walking this broken path together."

He replied his tone somewhat calm. It was comfortable to be embraced. He held her carefully, brushing the tears that rolled down her face. He always caused her pain, and even behind that mask, the gentleness of his eyes was certain.

but but but Kurei.. this is not her fault DX

Yet, even if he walks against a pile of corpses, and even if he burns all of civilization to the ground, she will never break her promise to him. Kurenai will walk willingly with him, side by side, forever. Because that was her place. She belonged nowhere else but in-between his arms. And she woudld like to think, that at the end of everything, when all the insanity is over and his rational side claims his thoughts once more, he would seek nothing else but to be with her and only her. Even if the only measure of peace they will ever have comes when they find themselves detached from the physical world after they've taken their last breath, it'll be worth it. Until that time comes, she will gladly watch all the carnage, because that was the only way he'd remain safe from all those which wanted to abuse him and harm him.

Now that she was a human again, she knew she could barely be of any use to Kurei when it came to protecting him. There was her flame form within his body, but the body she had now was not as useful. That's why she appreciated the presence of the Uruha before. Neon, Miki, Aki, Raiha, Jisho and even Joker who did things based on his own preferences, were all strong members of Uruha. All of them were loyal to Kurei. Most especially, Kaoru. He was still a young boy when he followed Kurei. He was already with Kurei before Kurei met her. He was a valued ally and a brother figure to Kurei. As a flame spirit, Kurenai felt the enormous pain which Kurei cleverly hid behind his anger, the moment he saw Kaoru join the enemies. Until the end, Kaoru was a very loyal ally whom Kurei loved dearly.

Kurenai was not that strong, but she tried her best to wrap her arms around him as tightly as she could. A wide smile emerged on her face as his pale fingers caressed her face. She didn't need to see his face, she felt his gentleness in both his words and his actions. "And I will follow you. No matter how dangerous and how broken the road our damned souls travels, I will be there. Always holding you this way."

She remembered how one day, she'll be separated from him. She remembered him saying he was fighting the Jigoku Tendou before coming here. She knows he's about to lose her in their world, as she has already lost him. It's coming. It's inevitable. And yet, she could never tell him that. Let him be happy in this world filled with their dreams. Can't she be selfish and keep him happy as long as possible? "Like you said before, we will never be separated again. We will face eternity forever"

That was Kurei's life and he was never going to abandon that path. He learned there was no happiness wherever he walked. Everything withered and died. People moved on. That was the rule of life. He hardly ever showed his emotions but losing Kurenai had been painful and unbearable. He suffered when Jisho died, and was never able to properly bid goodbye. Now, Jisho served as his weapon. Joker, however left no trace. It was the closest thing he ever showed to being emotional. He remembered the flamboyant man that flowed wherever he went, and while he flowed, he served Kurei willingly, and loyally. He disobeyed his orders from time to time, but Joker understood him. He knew what made Kurei tick. He didn't hate the man for it, but it made it all the more terrifying.

Such as his life. It was full of carnage, suffering, and torture. The little things that mattered to him, he kept at a distance. Event he brother that he always seemed to have a huge distaste for, was someone he would not let be touched by another. He would murder them. He was the one to end Rekka if anything were to happen and he made sure that his point was clear. Kurenai's presence itself was what made him strong. Her being able to breathe and given a second chance at life. Even if she wasn't as strong as her flamed form, Kurenai was still Kurenai. She was fearless and perhaps, even in his mind, he was thinking of arming her.

Making sure she was able to protect herself so nothing would get her. He wouldn't put her in danger but making her like him, a warrior was also the path that he wanted for the future. All his allies mattered to him, no matter how little. He just never showed them with expressions but with words that praise. He felt her arms, weak and fragile around him. He did not move, and let her did as she pleased. He brushed the tears that were still trickling down her face. He always made her cry sometimes. He wondered why he did that but he remembered he was a monster. Of course, he could make people cry.

"That is your choice, Kurenai. As long as you do not regret your decisions, because then it will be too late," he replied withdrawing his arm. He nodded his head, "Yes, eternity."

If only Kurenai could turn back time. If only Kurenai could prevent all the pain from happening. She didn't know which one was more heart crushing, experiencing the pain, or watching your love one experience it and be too helpless to do anything. She felt Kurei's pain. He affixed her soul with his, so she felt the deep agony he was in. Yet, the world was still so cruel to him. He couldn't even spend a moment alone and just weep for his losses for long periods of time. If anything, Kurenai could attest to Kurei's strength. He was strong physically and emotionally. For the most part, he kept a calm exterior, even if he should break every single moment. That's why no matter how many times he yells, kills or gets angry, Kurenai understood him. Its cruel, but she knows that anyone who tries to hurt Kurei deserved to die. He's had too much already. And she would never allow anyone else to add to his pain.

She didn't know where to begin, but one day, she will train. Perhaps not in the way that Neon was able to, but Kurenai will still protect Kurei in her own way. She didn't want to be that person who could do nothing but just cry and weep as she watched Kurei be beaten down to the very ground. She knows that not everyone can be slapped into thinking straight. But a huge part of her still wanted to remain pretty for him. She'll have to think of a way to protect him without having to gain as much muscle as the other girls of Uruha - it was just not for her.

She held him until he let go. Maybe he really was a monster. But what did that say about her. She loved him completely even after knowing that. She'd take him back into her arms when he needed her, regardless of his actions. She wasn't blind to his ways. If she thinks what he did was completely unreasonable, she'd call him out in private. But it still remains that she will support him no matter what. Kurenai accepted his actions completely. People should die if they try to hurt him any further. And she will die if she becomes a casualty for him. She will never allow people to use his love for her as a means to hold him down, never again.

When he withdrew his arms, she gave him one last squeeze, before circling her arms around one of his arms. "I know. And you'll never force me to follow you if I didn't want to, yes?", she asked sweetly.

"But you're wrong. It's already too late.", she said with a smile as she ushered him forward. "The moment you gave me your first smile", she gasped dramatically. "...my fate was sealed. You made me fall too in-love with you. I couldn't bare let you go", she said wiping her final tear from her eyes. "And I will never let you go. Not even if you force me to"

What was done was done. There was nothing they could do to change it. They could only move forward from this point on. He didn't need to dwell on it any longer. Their time was short and things would be put into their place when time passed. He had Kurenai right now, so it didn't seem to matter too much to him. The man did't break the silence since Kurenai had clung so desperately to him. He fought his battles and he had his scars. That was all there was to it. Nothing else seemed to matter.

Kurei had already vowed to himself not to let that sort of humiliation hinder hima anymore Mori had him around his fingers, but Kurei no longer had a reason to listen to him because his mother was safe, and Kurenai was no longer in his hands. Kurenai had belong to him. He kept one thing and that was her soul. He did not regret hat. Kurenai-- in her own way had supported him. He didn't need anymore than that from her.

"You have no reason to follow someone who walks a path of corpses. If that is your decision, then I have no reason to stop you from your decisions."

She just had to deal with the repercussions. Ultimately, it was her choice through and through, "Is that so."

He didn't argue wit her and let her speak to him. She was a woman of strong will and spoke her mind. She stood up to him while others cowered and embraced them while others withdrew. He didn't get the affections he wanted or crave, but she gave him all of that.

"If that is your wish, so be it."
