Caelestis Oculus

[Any City - Day]

[Caelestis had been dreading this day since he arrived here, so he was certainly well aware of it when it finally arrived. He wasn't one to get bent out of shape because of birthdays - he didn't care even though he was in his 30s - but there was one major figure here that was missing that never was before. That was his twin sister, whom he shared every one of his birthdays with. He knew that time didn't flow the same way here as it did at his home, but it was easier to say that they were 33 now rather than trying to figure out the technicalities behind Genessia's time against Celveryia's. He'd always been one to hide his emotions if anything would ever bother him, but this was one case that he couldn't hide very well. It wouldn't take a detective to note that glint of sadness in his eyes that day, even if his expression seemed to be the same stern look he always carried.

In addition to that feeling of loneliness he had without Almarei around, he'd noticed ever since he woke up at the crack of dawn that his eyes weren't quite right. He'd chalked it up to inadequate sleep, something he was quite used to as it was, so he'd thought nothing of it and went about his day. With his vision as it was, he thought it best to skip his magic training in the Fayren fields for the day and chose to explore the other cities. But between being absent minded and his eyesight, he found himself nearly bumping into people a few times, much to his annoyance. It wasn't their fault, it was his, so he made a point to stop and tip his hat, apologetically bowing his head slightly to the person.]

I beg your pardon.

[At least he had no trouble getting across streets safely. Thankfully.]

[Everglade - Night]

[Once it was coming on sunset, he'd gone to Everglade to serve his duty as a Ranger, but it wouldn't be long into his trek amidst the city when he realized something was very wrong. His vision became worse before eventually, everything faded to black. He would let out a startled cry, collapsing to his knees in the middle of the city streets. At the worst possible time. His right hand covered his eyes, and despite them being wide open, he couldn't see anything.]

What... what the hell kind of magic is this?!

[Stay calm? That's what he would try to do normally, except he's on his knees in the middle of this hellish city, blind and vulnerable for reasons unknown to him. In this state, there was no doubt that he was a sitting duck. He may have magic, but it does little good if he can't see the target and his surroundings... except calling for help is the last thing he wants to have to do.]

Badou Nails
19 September 2016 @ 07:17 am
[Frankly it's a miracle Badou even managed to find the video function in his current state. He's certainly not looking at the screen, though he is at least positioned so that there's a shadow of movement over the screen that's probably his.

Especially as it seems to be trying to light the seemingly ever-present cigarette at his lips. He even succeeds, if the sounds of the first drag of a fresh smoke are to be believed - at least there's something he doesn't need to see to be able to do.

He's not sure this is a smart idea at all, if he's honest. Screams highlighting his weakness and he's not a fan of that. But he's not sure how long this is going to last either and, well, he's never been one to suffer in silence.]

A'ight. Guess I gotta bit the bullet, swallow my pride an' all of that. Anyone up for bein' a seeing-eye person for a bit? Don't have a whole lot right now but I specialise in being dragged into crazy shit I'd be better off left out of. But I'm down one working eye right now an' that's a bit of a problem.

[He does manage to shift then...and almost fall off the sofa, from the swearing that follows...until there's an off-centre shot of him tapping the eyepatch over his right eye.]

Because I only got one workin' at the best of times and this brings me to a resounding zero. Hell, don't even have to be a long-term thing. Just sick as shit of not bein' able to eat something without stabbing myself or getting shit all over myself and I don't even wanna think what state the counters are in right now.

[And...well. He hasn't wanted to suggest this because he's sick of hospitals and this suggestion might lead to more. But.]

An' maybe someone who knows more about this shit than I do and can tell me how the fuck this happened. Other than it being my shitty luck to go completely blind for no apparent reason.

Chiaki Nanami
19 September 2016 @ 08:45 am
[Chiaki was very carefully adjust her outfit. Sure it wasn't fully correct quite yet, but she was slowly working on it She thought it would be fun to do something like this while exploring. Make it feel like a real adventure. Though as she turned around looking in the mirror at the back, she wondered if the others would actually go for it. She didn't mind if it was just her since they didn't seem to recall anything from school, but that made her more determined to make memories, new memories for them. It hadn't been long after that and attempting to cook something before she was holding the device firmly in her hands, there was still something she needed to do before she actually told the others, so she switched on, a sweet smile on her face.]

I was planning a fun little trip to Fayren for me a couple of my friends. But the more I looked the more I was uncertain, so... I wanted to ask people who have been here longer what are the most interesting places in Fayren to go to?

[She bows her head slightly as a way of saying thanks before pausing for a moment. She figured she should say something about something that had happened before.]

Um... Also... If someone were to get burnt due to not realizing thier hand was on something hot... Do they just run it under water or go to the hospital?

[Action in Genessia and toward the hospital]

[Chiaki was planning on going to the hospital, her hand was red and raw and yet she couldn't even feel how bad it was. It was strange to not feel something like that. Fire was hot. Fire would normally hurt someone, but this time... She didn't. It was worrying, but she was walking through the streets of Genessia, her hand kept close to herself as she tried to figure out the way to the hospital.

Even if she did look a little lost.]

[Private to Nagito]

[With her hand sorted and bandaged she was planning on continuing what she was doing. She wasn't going to let it get to her. So first stop was messaging Komaeda first. At least with Ibuki she knew where she lived.]

I hope you are still okay with coming to Fayren? I've been making the plans and should be finished by the end of the week, if not sooner if you want to do it sooner.

[She just needed to just do a couple more things, but she thought she would ask something else.]

Ah, I should ask if you are okay? [With her lack of feeling in her hands, she was worried that something was going on. Because seriously, how does one not feel when there hand is on a stove of all things.]

[Action to Ibuki]

[She didn't know where one friend lived, but she knew full well where the other was. So making her way she was just going to drop on in and check on her, talk to her and perhaps get a question answered if possible. Pulling up her video game hoodie styled after a giant yellow thing that eats dots she had gone to the door, lightly knocking in the hopes the other was in.]

Sonico Super
*The people in this world seem to be increasingly blind and deaf, unable to feel. It's a horrible thing to watch others go through. Sonico has managed, somehow, to keep herself free from the effects of whatever this illness might be, and she's determined to offer what help she can.

For the benefit for those that can't see, she introduces herself*

Good morning, everyone. It's Sonico here. I'd like to extend my help to anyone who finds themselves struggling. Perhaps you need personal help to aid yourself, or around your home. I am willing. Or perhaps you are unable to do daily tasks and chores, or to go to your place of work. I will do my best to help you. Please don't be afraid to be in touch.

*Next, for those who are perhaps unable to hear, Sonico repeats the same speech, this time holding up pieces of card with the message written on in bold green letters*

If you know someone who requires help but will not ask, please let me know.

*Sonico ends the video with a sincere smile and a bow*

Lenalee Lee
19 September 2016 @ 12:02 pm
[With everything that had been going on. A friend dying with people watching it happen, a friend from home had arrived here and was enough to cause the young girl to want to attempt to take a break from work. Lenalee just wanted to go out and enjoy a nice little break. So when the morning came and she had woken up, finding that she was waking up to pitch black she was a little concerned.

More than a little concerned. She was blinking and nothing, she couldn't even see the light that would normally shine through the cracks that were in the curtains. What was going on?

It had taken many hours to get out of the bed, get dressed, or at least her attempt at getting dressed, letting her hair stay down due to knowing full well trying to put it up would go horrible wrong and she was soon out the door once she was able to find it.

The young woman walked down the street, hearing people walking by while she herself had no idea where she was walking, the fact that her clothes were a mess or the fact that currently she was out in the middle of a busy road without meaning to.

Someone should probably help her.]

[Once she managed to not be in danger, Lenalee sat down on a bench, slipping the first time before getting it the second and managed to eventually get the device on. Admittedly she was more than a little concerned about what was going on.]

Is... is this on? I honestly cannot tell. But if it is... I might not be able to work for a little while. In fact I might need help.

[She paused for a moment. How to explain what is going on?]

Though for all I know, I might just be talking into thin air and it hasn't turned on at all. I just have to hope that is the case.

Colonel Jade Curtiss
19 September 2016 @ 12:03 pm
[Jade had been busy for the past month, as he was trying to make ends meet. With his and Luke's combined starter money, that should cover the inn's expenses during their stay in Fayren, but for now, Jade never ask Luke to work with him as an assistant unless he needs help with his come and go assignments as a bounty hunter. For now, their combined money is in the okay goldilocks zone, but they have to be slightly frugal. Being a bounty hunter isn't exactly an easy job as it's a case by case basis depending where it's available in which city, and he travels city from city, and then rest for days in Fayren before he's off again.

So far, from Jade's point of view, there's 2 people from his world, Luke and Arietta. And Arietta is pretty much out of their radar due to circumstances of events from their world that turned them into enemies under a peace truce, so he hardly seen her around as well.

It's only this morning that he noticed there's a tingling and numbing in his hands. It comes and goes, and he was able to feel hot and cold sensation, but at a lesser degree. He started to take notice when he couldn't feel cold water at the max, and very hot scalding coffee, when he drank it.

When he checked the network, it seems he's not the only one. Perhaps, he should ask around.]

Video/public

Hello, Jade Curtiss here. It has been a while. This is becoming worrisome, but I think I lost sensation in my hands and feet. I discovered it when I couldn't feel the cold or hot water by the sink or when I drink my coffee, I scalded my poor tongue, but it didn't felt hot.

I wonder how did that happened? Did anybody else felt the same way that I do?

Terrance Smith
[OOC WARNING: Language.]

Action: Attleton

[He's doing the same thing in every town, testing his equipment though Attleton is on a much smaller scale. He has a small mechanical system that he hooks up to his laptop; both of which actually belong to him and he goes to various points across the city to take readings.

He thinks he's done when he notices the world around him tint and darken. At first Terrance assumes it's just a trick of the light. He rubs at his eyes hoping that it might wake him but the darkness only encroaches further.

A few more seconds and Terrance can’t see where he's going. It takes every ounce of his self-control not to freak out. He takes a tentative step forward and then another. He hopes he isn’t in the street but he can no longer tell. His phone buzzes in his pocket but without sight that’s suddenly useless as well. He can feel his heartbeat racing in his chest as a nervous fluttered settles in his throat.]

Damn it.

[He stumbles and does everything in his power to keep his backpack and his tech from slamming against the ground. His day just got a whole lot harder.]

Action: Work & Starks/Nova City

[Despite his new handicap Terrance returns to work. He knows the way by heart and manages to make it to work with a little bit of help. He's a little shaky on his feet but stubborn. He doesn't want to stop working because if he stops he'll be forced to think and then to feel.

He’s tired of feeling.

Terrance fumbles for his things and in his efforts he slices a thick gash across his arm. Warmth begins to pool around the cut and while he can’t see it, it hurts like a bitch.]

Fuck me.

[This is the stupidest idea he's ever had and he'll vocally admit that as he stumbles towards a sink or something that might help stop the bleeding.]

I'm a fucking moron. Mother fucking fuck fucker god damn it. I'm such an asshole.

[Hopefully there aren't any kids around.]

Terra Branford
19 September 2016 @ 12:25 pm
Between: [16th-19th]

[At first Terra doesn't notice anything strange and spends her time in the flower shop as usual. As she arranges the flowers she notices numbness in her fingers. She raises her hands to inspect them carefully before seeing the small cuts and lacerations that are normal for someone who works with flowers.

A frown touches her lips.]

I don’t understand…

[She hadn't felt any pain. She inspects her fingers for a few seconds before silently casting a healing spell. A silver light dances around her palms and the cuts begin to seal and vanish from her pale skin.]

Between: [20th-23rd]

[Since losing her sense of touch Terra has decided to stay inside and take it easy at work. She's noticed other odd things too, things tasting strange or odd sensations. She accidently drank Ronan's coffee without noticing that the pungent liquid had touched her lips. She doesn't like coffee.

Her sense of taste is gone and she worries if it will end there.

As the day progresses Terra begins to cough and every attempt at speaking turns into similar fits that shake her thin frame. It should hurt but she feels nothing at all. Her fingers rest against her forehead and anyone coming to check on her will find that her voice is gone and that the soft spoken flower girl might be very sick. Except she has no idea how to tell what's wrong with her.]
