I don't quite understand how this works. What kind of system is running this?
Can anyone see me? Or read me! Gosh, I'm so overwhelmed. I've never even left my room before! Look at this place! It's so BIG. Is this open world?

If you can see this, hello! My name is Monika. I'm a club president at my school. What else should I write for an introduction? Um, I read the nice pamphlets, got my info kit and crystal, and saw the hologram. Is Miss Schnee real? I'd love to meet her.

Is anyone else there? ...Anyone?

Robert

[ A C T I O N ]

Sleep was not actually alien to Robert, but he was well aware upon waking up - at least after a few moments - that he hadn't just been sleeping.

Waking up in a cocoon, in a watery cave, wasn't what he would have expected from death if he'd had any expectations.

With characteristic lack of apparent alarm (and he really didn't feel alarmed; after all, the worst had happened, and so far this didn't seem terrible), he examined the white box he'd woken up with, read through the pamphlet, and thought about things.

After a few minutes of consideration and looking through all the items, Robert slipped the pendant around his neck and everything else into his pockets, and splashed his way quietly out of the Bay, grabbing a brochure once there and half reading it, half listening to the white haired woman's speech. He had to appreciate her attitude.

If you are a child and are not of working age yet, please follow the thick, green line on the provided map to the Kusanagi and Haller Home for Children on 3rd and Dogwood to find a safe place to stay.

It wasn't a terrible idea, but he didn't head directly there. He meandered in that direction, looking around, getting a feel for the area. So anyone in that part of the city was likely to see him, really - especially those around the Cinemaplazaplex, Genessia Public School, Library, Garden Park or its apartments - apparently a boy the size of a ten year old child, dressed in an old-fashioned sailor suit, with a blue pendant around his neck, either wearing a creepy doll Halloween costume or... not. And not seeming incredibly perturbed about his situation.

[ V I D E O ]

Hello.

[ The boy has blond hair, lifeless black eyes, and a mouth that doesn't even move when he talks, as if he's wearing a mask. He's dressed in a faded, but neat, sailor suit, and his voice is calm.]

This seems like a very calm and regulated situation for being a kidnapping.

I have a question about these pendants. [ He raises his own, like Weiss had, to indicate it. ] Does anyone know what the pamphlet means when it says they'll identify us as 'real'?

[ Weiss Schnee had said it identified them as kidnapees, but she'd also said that her company didn't provide the items in the pod, and Robert was curious. ]

I've been here only a few days, but the place is pretty amazing. Nova City alone is such a technological marvel. My world is a long ways off from flying cars.

[He'd honestly like to know how they work. Not that he's adept in understanding technology or all of the techno jargon that might come with an explanation of it all.]

What surprised you most about this place when you showed up? The allure of it all has probably worn off if you’ve been here for a while, but I’m still curious to know what, if anything, did.

I.ɢᴇɴᴇssɪᴀ ᴄɪᴛʏ - ᴄᴀᴛ's ᴇʏᴇ ᴄᴀғé

[A nagging cough gets the better of Regis as he strolls out of the café. He's been retracing his steps here Genessia City, taking a day to explore old neighborhood haunts he once enjoyed. While it still feels quite surreal for him to be wandering down these familiar streets, a strange sense of anxiety claims him. His brief conversation with Prompto stirred up quite a bit of emotion, some of which he's woefully unprepared for. It was easier for Regis not to mull about the past but now, with his son near and others even nearer; he finds himself fretting.

It's been days since his arrival in Genessia and he hasn't brought it upon himself to contact Noctis. While he truly does wish to see his son again, something stops him from doing so. Maybe it's fear? Probably. The reluctance that claims him is comprised of his own laden fear that perhaps, just perhaps...the boy hates him. While the mere notion is ludicrous at best, Regis can't chase that feeling away.

He never told the truth to Noctis. Regis knew of what the prophecy foretold thanks to his bond with the Crystal but he never once conveyed this to Noct. Maybe it's shame that stills him from action but either way, he's not ready to face his son.
]

In due time...

[He mutters to himself as he takes a sip of his espresso. The barista went a little heavy on the cream but Regis isn't complaining. Dressed outside of his usual kingly raiment, the former King of Lucis looks quite humble today in hopes of not drawing too much attention to himself.

With Ardyn on the prowl, it's for the best that he doesn't draw any unnecessary attention. Prompto told him all he needed to know about the alleged chancellor and Regis been on edge since.
]

II.ɢᴇɴᴇssɪᴀ ᴄɪᴛʏ - ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴀʀᴋ

[Somewhere between 4th Street and Hawthrone Avenue decides to rest. While he doesn't have to worry about the oppressive aura of the Crystal sapping away his strength anymore, Regis is still quite worn. His knees ache terribly and of course in his stubbornness forsook his cane. He honestly grown to loathe that blasted cane over the years. Besides the white hair and the crinkling crows feet at the edges of his eyes, the cane serves as a reminder of the youth he lost. Of course he detests it on some level but it was foolish of him to wander so far without it.

A sigh of relief escapes Regis once he finds sturdy old park bench nearby. The former king takes a seat. His injured knee is throbbing something fierce despite the brace he wears under his slacks. He takes a moment to soothe the pain with a light rub before giving up. The thought of seeing a physician has crossed his mind several times but Regis pales at the thought. He had enough of doctors and enough of the poking and prodding of physicians. Ever since he assumed the title of king, his failing health became a conversational piece.

Regis hated it. Oh, he always has.

Now free from both his duties as king and guardian both, Regis finds himself almost missing the daily humdrum of the Citadel. However, what he truly missed was the presence of his once sworn shield.
]

Clarus. [A regretful hum escapes him as he thinks of the loyal Amicitia.] A shame you aren't here.

[Regis lingers upon the bench for a time, lost within his own thoughts as he stares up at the bright sky above.]

Genessia NPCs

This weekend, a special rumor will be going around town. It's very complex, so feel free to have your character have heard the wrong names or details.
"Mmmm gurl, let me tell you this story. It's a real good one. So I was walking by, minding my business, and all of a sudden, BLAM. Big ol' blob monster hits the streets right in front of me. Now this is Attleton, so I'm just thinking "What the heck kind of Everglade nonsense is this, I don't live here to deal with that. We got enough problems with the serial killer infestation without no fricking blob monsters!" Crazy right? My legs practically turn to jelly I don't even think about running. If anyone tells you I peed myself they're wrong though, that was Sasha.

Anyway, I'm about to get eaten, expecting a hero and screaming at the top of my lungs- DON'T TELL ME YOU WOULDN'T! And all of a sudden, whaaaat? Is that Nephenee and Aoi making out instead of saving my life? Girl, you better bet they ain't allowed in my shop anymore after that. No, I survive. I survive because my legs finally start working and I turn around and run right into- you'll never guess. Go on, guess. Okay, I ain't waiting for you, it was Mira and Vlad back to back getting ready to give some kind of crazy hero monologue. Yes a crazy hero monologue, don't look at me like that. I don't mean villain monologue, heroes do that nonsense too and it's like "bro, just shoot him while he's standing there telling you about how love will conquer all and gabbing about how it's!! so!! wrong!!"

Anyway, I'm getting off topic- those two, back to back, arms crossed, and I just messed it up. Vlad gives me this look like lady you just threw off my groove because you know he's all sensitive about his groove, and I see something I never thought I would see. Mira just pushed his cheeks up on both side with her hands and told him to perk up. I know. I know, it sounds crazy but I definitely saw it! They get back on track after wasting all that time on hero nonsense- the blob monster's swallowed this poor lady- I think her name was Raven? Snatched her right off her beautiful pink bike at this point. I think she managed to scramble out of there, but she wouldn't have had to if heroes didn't get distracted with their nonsense. And you know she doesn't have blob monster insurance because this is Attleton, so that bike is just gone.

She runs off with Morgana for some reason, and I look back and Vlad and Mira are getting their pale asses kicked by this blob. Vlad's over here screaming "No, call Remilia, she's the only one who can save me!" Now, I'm thinking darn. This is a hot mess. I should call the Guardian. But I don't. Why you ask? Because all of a sudden a huge laser beam pierces through the globby face of that blob monster, and through the hole left I can see Ed riding around on Bombina's shoulders holding some kind of laser rocket contraption they must've grabbed from Nova, totally incinerating Raven's bike inside of the monster so no, she still ain't getting that beach cruiser back. And Colin is there standing next to them joking about how Ed was too short to aim for the center on his own just before Emil shows up, starts snacking on the blob monster, and says it tastes like chicken.

Girl, you better believe it when I say I've had a day. There, your perm's done. You have a good day now, and don't tell anyone I was the one who told you. I don't want the Guardian team to think all this embarrassing nonsense they missed is getting out and making them look bad."

Sadao Maou/Satan Jacob | The Devil is a Part Timer
30 March 2018 @ 10:46 am
Sadou is out and about, delivering pizza. Seems the delivery guy phoned in sick, so one of the waitstaff had to take over.

Riding his new bicycle Dullahan II, he's delivering pizza to those who ordered it. Fortunately the job is slack, and he's able to socialize a little with the people who he meets. For the most part, this is a normal job, and he goes around Genessia since most orders come from the citizens and not the newcomers. But work is work, and Sadou is doing a good job at it.

Ringing the doorbell, he calls out, "Pizza Delivery!" And waits for the door to open.

[Closed to Zuko ]

…Look, it was a lot warmer in the fire nation than it is here. We really should get something with sleeves.

[Maybe a weak argument to pose to the grumpy fire bender trailing behind her after waking him up from a long night, but she had to keep adding to the list to…sort of justify her actions. He hadn’t been all too keen on her waking him up so early to go shopping, but she didn’t want to go alone, and… well. Now that they had finally found a place to stay- a nice place to stay, thanks to Zuko’s keen eye- they really did need to get some shopping done. It didn’t seem all that fair for her to take over the shared space.

Not that she really expected a boy to have a lot of opinions on the matter.]

Besides, I don’t want to just keep washing the same clothes over and over again… They won’t last that long. [Sure, she had fixed his tunic as best she could given the situation, but Azula had really done a number on it, and as hard as she tried, she was sure it was going to be impossible to get the smokey smell out of her own traditional blues…

Plus it was… kind of weird to be in such close quarters without much else to wear while she did her laundry.

She turned a corner, looking down the line of shops with piqued curiosity. Sure, it was still a bit cool (cold) out, even for someone who had grown up in the snow, but it was a nice enough day (except the rain). Surely this wouldn’t be an awful outing….]

------

A) Mid-Day (Shopping! OTA)

They’re visiting a variety of shops in search of clothes and home-wares to fill their new space. While Zuko might not be entirely thrilled with the whole ordeal, Katara’s as curious as ever as she checks out the different styles and unfamiliar objects in the stores.

(Say hello?)
____

B) Dinner (Zuko/Katara- OTA!)

Later in the evening, one might find the two seated at the end of a long table near the window of one of the local restaurants in Genessia, shopping bags tucked against the wall and settled about their feet.

It’s been a successful shopping day, and Katara’s even sporting one of her new outfits. ‘Skinny jeans’, the woman had called them, a comfy looking sweater to fight off the chill, and a pair of flats to replace her tired old shoes. It felt odd, not wearing her traditional blues after all this time, but… there was simply something empowering about a fresh change of clothes and trying something new.

It also looks like trying something new is their only option for dinner tonight, as she pours over the menu.

“…what the heck is a cheeseburger?”

(Feel free to join their table!)

____

C) Fayren, Ivory Tower- Katara only

Despite working far later than she had expected to today, Katara’s in fairly high spirits as she leaves for the day, if a little tired. She’s learning quite a lot at her new job; not only is she able to heal those she’s assigned to with her water bending, but now she’s properly being taught traditional medicines as well. It’s exciting, but… she’s definitely walking a little slower than usual as she heads home alone, despite the darkness and the clouds threatening to burst.

That in itself is a bit thrilling, though.

She’s got her waterskin hidden below her new coat. She’ll be safe enough, right?

((Create your own! I’ll roll with it))

Demi-Fiend
30 March 2018 @ 04:02 pm
So the past few months have got me thinking for a while now. I spent so much time keeping my body in shape and adjusting to this world, but I think I need to find a way to be myself. That and well--

Kinda get a job because he keeps sleeping and missing all the bounties.

[Naoki growls when Pixie speaks up, glaring at her off-camera.]

Anyway, figured I could do something else for a change. Apart from destructive stuff, I got demons that can go fast, heal, fly, etc. If anyone is willing to hire me, I'd be up for something. Or relaxing too. Kinda....kinda forgot how to do that. Haven't even played a video game in what feels like an eternity.

[Pixie now flies into view, crossing her arms.] Well I imagine having demons wanting to munch on you in the middle of a nap can make anyone like that.

Conner Kent/Kon-el
30 March 2018 @ 04:30 pm
[Action - Genessia City]:

[Conner blinks, eyes moving from the pamphlet ... to the announcement, and back again as the girl in white -- Weiss explains the situation. All the details from both sources line up, and Kon just sighs, dragging a hand down his face.]

Great.

[Yoinked into another dimension, no clear way of getting home, no real explanation of how he ended up here ... just the certainty that he was probably gonna be here a while.

[Looks like it's one of those days.]

[Video feed snaps open to reveal a young man. He's good-looking in that all-American, captain-of-the-football-team kinda way - square jaw, broad shoulders that imply a muscular frame, eyes verging on too blue. He'll be unfamiliar to anyone who happens to look in, but he doesn't look as ... harried, as you might expect a new arrival to look, considering the situation he's suddenly found himself in.]

Hey, Genessia.

[Lil wave for the camera.]

Sooo ... you can probably guess I'm kinda new around here. I'm Superboy--

[Wait. Alternate dimension. Comic books have existed in the other universes he's visited so that might not sound too weird, but it probably sounds conceited as all hell to introduce yourself that way if people aren't used to capes.]

Kon. Kon works too. [Whoops.] Sorry, I kinda do the whole superhero thing back home, so starting with the codename is just reflex at this point.

[He pauses for a second, sucking in air through his teeth before:]

Gonna be honest here, I have no idea what else to say. Like, none.

[Because despite the fact that hopping across the multiverse is something he's done, this particular shindig is uncharted territory.]

I figure anyone from home who's here is probably gonna see this, but on the off-chance they don't, if any of you guys know anyone from Young Justice, the Teen Titans, the JLA ... send 'em my way if you don't mind. That'd be awesome.

Any y'know, any word on figuring out how to get home'd be pretty sweet.

Hanzo Shimada
30 March 2018 @ 06:17 pm
Who: Hanzo Shimada & [OPEN]
Where: Outside of Fayren and then Favnir Ruins in Fayren
When: Afternoon moving towards evening
What: Hanzo was approached by a citizen of Genessia to save their child who has gone missing near the Ruins in Fayren. Hanzo needs money so he's taking the request, intending to do it alone. This is not how things go
Rating: E. No warnings right now, will update if needed.

[A]Preparation
[Hanzo isn't one to take something lightly, and while he's also not exactly someone to go out and rescue a stranger's child, he's been offered enough money to do it and finds that he can't keep his conscience clear knowing there was a child that was in trouble and he did nothing. So here he is, currently at what amounts to an adventurer's outfitting store, gathering a few essentials he figures he might need.

Since he currently has his bow and a full quiver of arrows on his back, he cuts an imposing looking silhouette, especially considering the dour expression seemingly permanently affixed to his facial features. As it stands now, Hanzo is pouring over different sorts of health snacks, and a first aid kit. Already set aside are a couple of blankets and perhaps a coat that is decidedly child sized.]

"Will there be anything else, sir?"

...No. This will do. [Hanzo pulls out money to pay—thankfully he'd been prepaid by the man hiring him—and turns to leave in one fluid motion, supplies tucked under one arm. At least unless he bumps into someone. If no one stops him to ask questions, he leaves in a quick fashion.]

[B] At the Ruins
[Damn. He should have thought of this when he'd taken up this request. Currently, Hanzo was in a bit of a pickle, ducked behind a large tree while several dire wolves approached. Beyond them was a very, very large stone golem, its eyes glowing in the dark that Hanzo had THOUGHT would offer him cover. It did not offer as much as he thought. Quickly pulling out a different arrow than before, Hanzo pulls the string back on his bow and lines up his shot. He fires, missing the wolves and golem entirely. Luckily, it seems that this is what he wanted to do, as the arrow begins to pulse rhythmically, offering a faint glow over any moving objects.

It makes the monsters a lot easier to see, even ones Hanzo had not noticed. What's more, is if anyone is paying attention is that in the far distance the shape of a small crumpled child can be made out through the darkness. Hanzo has a long way to go. Well, hanzo, and whomever happens to be with him. How they wound up with him isn't important now, but hopefully they can pull their weight.]

We must move. Try to keep up.

[Liora stares at her device for a few moments. What she was about to share is going to be an infodump, but she wants to keep it as simple as possible. So, she takes several deep breaths to form the words in her mind before she begins the feed.]

Well...there are a lot of holidays from different worlds with unique origins. Although I've never seen a celebration of any holidays from my own world, I'd like to share the origins. It's...quite a long story, but I'll try to condense it as much as possible...

Japheth
30 March 2018 @ 10:28 pm
[Now waking up and feeling forgetfully groggy was not something odd for this newcomer to Genessia, although hearing other pod folks was. Odd that is, so Japheth had stayed quiet and inside his pod until he was sure people weren't in the bay.

And then he had to wait until it wasn't quite so sunny out to leave the bay. Which was super annoying, and then he perused the provided information he found on himself and at the welcome hologram-tourist information booth before using his fancy new phone.

So the network is going to get to hear a man's voice, who's accent is kind of hard to place, ask an important question.]

Can any of you uh... "Genessia" people? [Wait, that sounds bad. Changing his word choice.] I mean, hello? I'm new, and just wondering what can someone who is... Nocturnal do around here?

... And where I could get myself a cheap sun umbrella? [Because he doesn't want to have to hide inside shit when he has to do stuff during the day.]

Kyoko Sakura

( action )
[If this is Hell, it's certainly kinder than what she would expect.

Then again, maybe it isn't. Call it a hunch (but really, who would mistake that magical signature?) but she thought there might be a familiar face around. It didn't take much more than a quick scan of the network to confirm it, and none of them who are likely to want to see her face.

So maybe it is what she'd expect. Rather than try to approach any of those familiar faces, she settles on telling herself that there's nothing to do for it. So she can be found wandering the town, stopping in at various coffee shops and other fast food joints. Sometimes she'll sit down at one, but more often than not she prefers to just grab it and go. New territory, plenty of ground to cover.

It's easy enough to get her attention, if one so chooses. Every once in awhile she'll bump into somebody, not bothering to offer an apology. She's certainly not above trying to cut in line, either, if the line is too long for her liking.]
