'...And the moral of the story is, sometimes sacrifices have to be made, even if they are painful.'

What would people think of that for the last line of a story? I am not a fan and think it could be done better, but just don't know how exactly yet.

On that note, though I've just got back from the Dream Docks a couple days ago and that was certainly an interesting experience. It did take a load off my mind and now I can really focus on things here for the time being.

I'm planning on going back to school come September since it seems like the way schools work here work like schools across the pond so to speak, so starting days are different than in Japan. So until then, I figured I might as well write short stories or something to pass the time between work and the first day.

Rapunzel

Action; Fayren; In The Shadows
[Rapunzel had taken up a bounty, which she had for a while and had honestly spent most of it figuring out who it might be and the best way to capture them as possible. Today was the day that she was going to go through with her plan.

The young woman had set up a trap. It seemed like an obvious trap to say the least. if one were to simply set foot into the house, she would know. She just hoped that their powers wouldn't help them to get out of it.]

Video;
[Rapunzel adjusted her device for a moment or two. Once she had sorted it out she moved it back with a smile and a wave.]

Hi, so um... it's my...birthday next week here. It's quite funny because next month it will be a year since I arrived here and I must admit. I've learned a lot and I appreciate every moment. [She looked to the side briefly.]

So I decided on a couple of things I want to do for my birthday. First I all... I want to do something nice for those who have been kind, caring, nice or people I made friends with during this year. So if you fall under that, let me know what you want to do and I will hop on to it. It can be anything.

[She paused, as she moved to put some strands of hair behind her ear.]

Second of all... I am considering an...unusual business that I want to do. [She moved to lean back slightly.] I've always had a dream and it was to see the lights back home, on my birthday... Some time ago...I made something similar happen but on a different day. So it made me think that maybe... I want to help others work towards there dreams or help them realize it. [She tilted her head to the side.]

It's a little strange isn't it? To want to help others achieve what they always dreamed of, but... is that really a bad thing to want to do?

[The video feed opens up to a man dressed in blue staring at something off screen---oh he's listening to the hologram.]

Kidnapped huh? Well, at least they waited to do it until after summer vacation started...

[He falls silent again until the hologram finishes the spiel then wanders out of the Bay and looks around for a moment before looking back at his phone.]

Just out of curiosity, have you guys found out just who exactly is behind bringing us all here yet?

[Huh he's taking it better than most people.]

Rialynn Kollmann
[The moment the hologram popped up, Rialynn jumped a mile, scrambling away from the device until her back hits the wall of the Bay. She leaves a trail of maps along the way, dropped from nerveless fingers as she fumbles frantically at her pouch and flings a fistful of salt at Not-Weiss.]

[Nothing happens.]

[In fact, the ghost isn't even looking directly at her from where she sits shaking on the ground, eyes as wide as saucers. This ghost isn't...very aggressive. In fact, it seems prim and proper. She glances around her uneasily, but since it isn't coming after her, she remains rooted on the spot, boots wet, mouth dry.]

[Eventually the message does end, and she finally exhales the breath she didn't realize she was holding. Her legs lack strength and she has to hold tightly to the wall to get back up to her feet, staggering into the street. She blinks and puts an arm up to protect herself from the bright sunlight, but once she adjusts?]

[She sees buildings several stories high.]

[She sees people riding around in metal carriages drawn by really fast invisible horses.]

[She also sees people riding what looks like two-wheeled cannons. And talking to themselves on little boxes pressed to their heads.]

W-what...what is...

[And not everyone is human, either. People seem completely oblivious to the weird and even the scary walking right beside them! She dips to one knee, feeling nauseous and dizzy, and closes her eyes tightly.]

[Some people adjust to Genessia quickly. Others, like Rialynn, are just about ready to faint from the massive shock.]

Rip van Winkle
14 June 2018 @ 02:10 pm
You know, I've been vondering something.

[Rip pops on screen with a bit of a yawn. She really shouldn't be awake right now but, well.. unpleasant dreams always prevented her from sleeping. At least they were getting less and less again. On that, she partially had Namur to thank...among other people.

She removes her glasses for a moment to rub her eyes, looking almost adorable as she does so before slipping the wire rimmed spectacles back on her face.]

Zo, vorking for Jolly Eddy's, I vas told zhat verevolves and vampires don't get along in Zhe Everglade for some reason. I'm a little confused by zhis.

[She stiffled another yawn before continuing.]

I'm a vampire und I haf never had trouble getting along vith verevolves. Ve alvays make fast friends und zhey are good hunting partners. I get zhe blood, zhey get zhe meat and nothing gets vaisted... Zo, vhy vas zhere a problem ? It doesn't make sense to me.

[In other words, Rip really doesn't get it. Can someone explain this to her please?]

If anyone haz an explanation, I vould be glad to hear it.

Camus
14 June 2018 @ 03:24 pm
[Because if anyone thinks Camus is staying near or in the bay for any extended period of time, you'd be dead wrong. After doing the normal new arrival thing, he found his way into Genessia proper, and got himself a seat at Cake Town to go through things in more detail with a mug of tea and something sweet (god damn sweet tooth he has).

Anyone walking by could see he's new, with a confused look and the new arrival papers sitting on the table as he's poking through them.

And if it seems chillier around him, don't mention it... that's normal.]

Emperor Lotor
14 June 2018 @ 06:25 pm
[He had several questions, upon waking up. An uncomfortable concoction of emotions and reactions bubbling around inside of him, all demanding he do something.

... So he collected his communicator. And the money he'd woken up beside. And then he consulted the hologram, memorizing every word. He went outside, and grabbed the appropriate pamphlets, reading it all very carefully, noting well the map.

At some point, anyone down by the bay would find him sitting, calm, at least by all appearances, slowly scrolling through the communicator, reading, listening to, and watching every single post he could access.

Granted, if anyone came near, they'd find themselves being addressed.
]

Excuse me, if I may have a moment of your time?

[And there he is, looking calm, cool and confident. Still outside, apparently, the sounds of street traffic make that pretty clear]

Before I begin introducing myself, is there anyone present who knows what I mean when I say I'm currently looking for members of the Voltron Coalition?

The Bay )

... ah. There it goes. I was beginning to wonder if this thing even worked.

[It at least functioned very similarly to what he was used to. Still, the tech seemed close enough to his home that he was on edge. His face was calm, but his posture was tense, and white furred cat ears upon his head kept twisting and twitching. His eyes kept darting around to get a read on the area around him, and the feed appeared to tremble slightly as if being held by a shaking hand. Despite appearing to have the uniform of a military, this was a man that had something to fear. Regardless, he kept up his front, his expression and tone of voice appearing calm.]

I imagine there are many questions of this kind from the... "new arrivals" or whatever you want to call them, so forgive me. If I were to mention a place known as "Eichhorn" or a group known as the "Cardinals" would any of you know what I was referring to?

[Deep down, he's hoping the answer is "no."]

... and is this place truly as the Lady Schnee said? This place is separate of that where we come from?

[Let him have this-- let him have his escape from the Dulvik just this one time.]

[Action - Genessia City Garden Park]

Get away from me, you filthy creature!

[There's the voice of a shrieking man nearby, and if one were to trace it, it would lead up to a large tree in the park with the feline man huddled up on the highest branch he could get to. At the base of the tree was a rather large dog barking up at him with excitement. To anyone else, the dog would seem friendly, but to Kazimir? He hated dogs. They were the one thing that could made him lose his composure, and the fact that this thing was let loose to run around and do as it pleases was absolutely infuriating!

Even worse, his predicament was almost comical. What the hell was this, some joke from a damned cartoon?! Yes, ha ha, he was a cat, but that had nothing to do with why he hated that thing-!

Still, despite how much he hated them, he didn't have either his gun nor his rapier drawn and pointed at the dog. He had no desire to harm it (some people liked the company of them... hell if he knew why), but if it would just go away!

Eventually he would turn to start yelling expletives at it in what sounded like Russian. Maybe it would listen to commands in the Eichhorian language?! Or not. All he's doing is swearing so much that he'd make a sailor blush.

All he wanted to do was find some place to eat, goddamnit!]
