Christmas Eve Party!

WHO: Anyone willing to behave themselves for a nice Christmas party!
WHAT: Weiss's Housewarming/Christmas Eve Party
WHEN: Christmas Eve
WHERE: Team RWBY's new house
WARNINGS: Mistletoe is hung in one of the corners! Avoid it if you don't wanna get smooched! (But seriously if anyone has anything here that needs a warning please tell me.)



It's Christmas Eve and it's cold outside! Perhaps you should come in, enjoy some refreshments, chat, sing a song at the karaoke station, or open up your Secret Santa gifts? There's plenty of room to wander around and plenty of fun to be had! While furniture doesn't seem to be overly plentiful, there's a coat closet near the entrance and plenty of room for party guests in the family room, kitchen (where the food is!) and breakfast nook, and the outside deck. There are Christmasy pine garlands with signs that say "Guests are asked to remain in the party area! Thank you!" cutting off rooms beyond those and classy decorations adorning the designated party area (plus doilies at the dining table). At the center of the family room is a well-lit Christmas tree.

Naturally, if you have another location that you would like to direct your thread, you're welcome to make a thread of your own-- but if it's in an area that's off limits, unless your character is accompanied by one of Team RWBY (or are going to the restroom- which hopefully there won't be any threads for that) your character will get told to go back to the party if your character is caught! If they get caught more than once, they may be asked to leave. :( We don't want that!

The party evening will round out with Weiss and Blake singing a duet of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" for everyone, so please have a Merry Christmas! (And happy all holidays!)

[ Even so, it doesn't sound flattering coming from other people. ]

Thank you. I only got a couple of bottles just in case since you said you were going to bring some, without you we'd be drinking from the tap in a few minutes.

[broceanking]

[He's good at making anything sound flattering.]

I did say I'd bring drinks. So I brought as much as I could.

[whiteas]

Nothing alcoholic, I presume?

[ Weiss is checking this stuff as she sets it up. He's cool. Which is why he needs to be checked for booze, ok, cool guys bring the booze sometimes. ]

[broceanking]

Nothing alcoholic. I didn't know what kind of group to buy for so I figured I'd play it safe.

[whiteas]

I think you did well, Neptune. Did you taste any of them?

[ Theeere all set up. She looks to him now. ] Is that everything?

[broceanking]

Thanks. I'm glad you approve. And I did. They're all delicious.

That is- wait no I have something else for you. I just couldn't carry it all in at once. I'll be right back.

[He dashes out of the room, and comes back after a couple moments with two large boxes containing the new dishes and silverware for the house.]

I got you a Christmas/housewarming gift. I hope you like them.

[whiteas]

[ Welp. Weiss watches him leave with a tiny look of confusion on her face, but she waits for him to get back patiently. Then those big old boxes are there in his arms and she immediately moves over to him to grab one so that he doesn't have to carry them all on his own. ]

You could've asked for help carrying these, you know.

[ Not that he needed them, but carrying that through the party to get back to the kitchen was a feat on its own. Once she has them, she takes them off to a part of the kitchen counter with no food on it so that they're out of the way. ]

Can I open them?

[broceanking]

I could have.

[He follows her, excited to see her reaction when she opens them.]

Of course!

[whiteas]

[ Weiss looks pretty excited to get a gift, going to take the wrapping off very meticulously, undoing the wrapping at the tape so that the paper doesn't tear and everything. Then once she's in, her face lights up.

Some teenagers might not think that dinnerware was a great gift, but those teenagers weren't Weiss. In fact, she was ecstatic that they finally had some nice plates that hadn't been appropriated by Neptune's best friend.. and these ones were better than those anyway.

If he wanted Weiss to smile, he got it. ]

They're lovely, Neptune!

[broceanking]

I'm glad you like them. And I promise, they won't end up back in my apartment.

[whiteas]

I think even Sun would have a problem carrying them halfway across the city.

[ Hopefully, anyway. Weiss chuckles a little as she takes one out to look at it. ]

Though I think you two might get a chance to use them at some point anyway.

[broceanking]

I don't know about that...

So you are going to have more parties?

[whiteas]

Inviting you two over for dinner isn't throwing a party. But there will be more parties, just.. not until I can afford to live on one job again.

[ Yeah, Weiss is absolutely sure she's going to need a second job to pay for Christmas. ]

[broceanking]

That's totally a dinner party.

[He scans around the room, looking at all the food and decorations.]

You could have asked me to get more stuff for tonight. I would have been more than happy to help.

[whiteas]

If it's just the residents and you two, then I think it only qualifies as having guests over.

[ So there. Weiss shakes her head at his suggestion though. It isn't as though she wouldn't have appreciated it, but dragging Neptune into paying for stuff was more... what Sun would do than what Team RWBY would do. ]

It's our party; the drinks were more than enough.

[broceanking]

Fine, fine, that's not a dinner party. [It totally is.]

If you say so. But next time, I'm going to help out more and there's nothing you can say to stop me.

[whiteas]

[ Hush. One day she'll throw a real dinner party and show him the difference!! Weiss's expectations of dinner versus a dinner party are likely differentiated because she's an heiress. ]

What if I don't say anything at all to you until everything's set up?

[broceanking]

[To us poor folk, that many people constitutes a dinner party.]

I'll find out. I've got my ways. [By which he means he's going to ask Blake to warn him if she thinks Weiss is planning another party.]

[whiteas]

[ Don't talk to her about dinner parties until your dinner presentation is practically a show on its own and there are servers involved. ]

If you want to help throw a party so badly, maybe you should throw the next one?

[broceanking]

[Okay yeah that's a legit dinner party.]

Maybe I should. It'll be fun to get everyone crowded into the apartment.

[whiteas]

Who would you invite? Besides us.

[ She's curious okay. ]

[broceanking]

Pretty much just everyone from Remnant, plus whoever you guys wanted to bring along. But that'd still be a lot of people to fit into one apartment. It's not the biggest space.

[whiteas]

Believe me, I know. I actually held a meeting at someone's apartment before Ruby was here. I was team leader for a while since she wasn't there. It.. didn't quite go as planned, but it wasn't a total disaster.

[broceanking]

Oh yeah? What happened?

[whiteas]

I had a group help a man from the White Fang try to save his first human friend from Lucifer, prince of hell, and it turned out it was on said man's false information and she didn't even want to be rescued, she was just fine being under the supervision of a man who tried to destroy the city and blew up a hospital.

[ It was an experience alright. ]
