Nova City Carnival

Where: Nova City at the grounds being used for the Carnival.
What: Nova City Carnival

The NCC (Nova City Carnival) opens up its gates for business on the 27thof March. The line to get inside was decently long during the first few hours, but as the day went on it shortened as things got into full swing and booth attendants got into the flow. By noon the place was pretty packed, with there being so much to do, many people planned on spending the entire day there.

Come nightfall, it didn't thin out at all. If anything, attendance grew as more citizens of Nova City made there way there. The atmosphere is as positive as you can expect from being around people that are enjoying themselves. And it would continue on like this until the final day.

Contest Sign Up is still open, and it will remain that way until the day of the contest. Feel free to imply whatever ride or game your character might want to play is there. Maybe you want to test your luck at a Carnival game. Some are easier to win a prize at while some have been purposely made more difficult so that they won't immediately be cleaned out of prize. Though, they are all still entirely winnable. Some of the games are just set up so the odds are in favor of the one running it.

Koschei browsed the games, trying to decide which to try first. He had the benefit of knowing the mathematics and strategies behind most of the games, or thought he did. He watched the other people playing, fascinated.

[Yugi was always happy when there were games around, even though he knows these types of games were made to make it harder for people to win, but he played never the less and losing a good few times as he tries to figure out how to win before he finally won a game.]

Alright! [He seemed happy enough now he figured out how to beat the game as he smiled and turned around, holding the prize in his hand. That was one game down and there were many more to go, though he wasn't exactly sure what to do with the prize right now. never the less he can be seen looking around, ripping onto the small prize for the time being, checking out all the games once more.]

Sun Wukong | Open

[Sun strolled along, his tail wrapped around the cone that his cotton candy had been spun around. He held it in front of him, occasionally picking pieces from it while he tried to find a decent game to play. He’d tried and failed at a few earlier. The darts that he had thrown at the balloons weren’t sharp enough to pop them on contact, and he was sure the basketball hoops were a little bent. Still he was sure it was just his luck, because he saw other people managing to win.]

[Irvine was a sucker for a good time, and this Carnival certainly did seem like it would be some fun. The games in particular looked sort of interesting. At the moment, he was standing by and spying one of the Shooting Gallery games. He was watching other people take their turns and missing. Some were bad shots, but some didn’t notice that the gun’s shot was pulling a bit to the right, which made it more challenging. You had to factor that in when taking your shot, otherwise you’d miss your target or hit a wrong one.

He couldn’t say it was deceitful, the gun’s themselves just probably weren’t properly calibrated. Or if they were manufactured to be this way, it was so they didn’t get completely cleaned out of stuffed animals. Irvine wasn’t going to do that, but he just might play and win a few of them, though.]

To play or not to play..

[ The guy at the darts booth doesn't seem too happy with Emerald, who pulled out one of her sickles to sharpen the dart that he gave her. There was no way that was going to do anything but bump into the darn things, though, so she figured might as well give it an edge.

But he seems to have backed off for now. You know until she's going to the very edge and trying to aim at an angle to try to hit as many balloons with one dart as she can. Honestly, it's probably cheating to do that.. ]

Is there a rule that says I can't?

[ She seems so unamused when he objects to it. Honestly she should just throw it at him but she refrains. That would probably look pretty bad on her. ]

[So this stuff was the kind of things humans did for fun? At least the people looked like they were having fun. Grimmjow wasn't sure what he expected, but he had a thing of cotton candy in his hand. It tasted kind of good. Really sweet and sugary...honestly he was starting to find a soft spot for sugar. But he was here and he was starting to think maybe he should give a game a shot or something.]

Rides

Are you here for the rides? Well, you'll be happy to find that there are many that you can enjoy. There are some specifically set up for the kids that might be roaming around. The rotating tea cups, a cutesy train that moves at a nice easy pace on a track among other things. Then you have the rides that are fun for all ages! Bumper cars, Swinging Carousel, the whirling Gravitron and the Ferris Wheel among the many other rides. Be careful about eating before, though. You don't want to get sick.

There are rides that are more catered towards the older crowd too. The rides that swing high and go upside down or zipping roller coaster that is among the biggest ride there. While children are permitted to ride them too, they might be turned away if not accompanied by an adult.

RIDES! They just didn't have these, when Betelgeuse was alive, and it was the most unfair thing ever! He loved the roller coaster and all the SCREAMING! Not that he screamed. Oh, no, no. The B-guy did not scream; he made other people scream. Nevertheless, he got in line for the roller coaster--for the third time. He considered using his magic on the roller coaster, in a superficial way, to create...atmosphere.

[ Yui wanted to go on the ferris wheel, but.. honestly it felt like it would be more fun if she went up there with someone instead of going alone, so she's looking around for someone she knows to ask to go with her. ]

Food Stuff

More than likely the first thing that you probably caught a whiff of when you approached the carnival was the food. The scent of many different kinds of food is in the air. Cotton Candy, candy apples, corn dogs, funnel cakes. The list goes on and on. There is enough of a variety that you could eat there for the next few days and manage not to try the same thing more than once! You probably might want to snack a while before or right after you hop onto one of the faster rides, though. They will do a number on your stomach.

David Haller | Open

[David stood nearby a little cart where he’d just gotten some cotton candy from. Not because he wanted more, but just because he was looking out to all the people that were enjoying themselves at the Carnival. He pulled off a piece of cotton candy and popped it into his mouth. He assumed his Pops might be even more proud of him, if he had seen this. Especially with what he planned to do with the money.

His dear old Dad was always for helping little lost Mutant children with his school. While a place for little kids to live while they were here wasn’t a mutant school, it still was something that could help out greatly. Though David couldn’t even say the idea was his. The girl who he was naming the place after was the one with the idea. Still, he was happy to do something good for this place. Both in throwing this Carnival and helping to give people a place to stay.]

Joruk | Open

Joruk had a doughnut burger and a cheese steak on top of a plate of nachos. He also had a cup of some sort of soda. Even with all that food he was pretty sure he would still be hungry again in time for the watermelon eating contest. He started to wander in search of a place to sit and eat.

"The lines are enough to make me hungry again," he responsed to someone's comment on how much food that was for such a small guy.

Dunking Booth

Come and try to knock the Dunkee into the water. The Dunker throws a ball at the target and if they hit it, the person falls in. Or were you just walking by? If so, the attendant to the booth might just ask if you could spend a little time in there to help raise money for charity! Don't worry about getting your clothes wet, they have a changing room and an assortment of swimsuits (donated from shops. These suits are all three years old and out of "style"), so go on and volunteer!

Sun Wukong | Open

[ Sun was all too happy to help out with charity. It was why he volunteered to climb into the dunking booth and let people take shots and try to knock him in the water. So far, no one had managed to do so.]
I’d have gotten a snack if I knew I would be in here this long without getting wet. [Was he a little smug about not being knocked into the water yet? Maybe a little.]

[Rikku had actually been keeping busy for the most part with helping Yuna out and doing her duties as Deputy Guardian. She was actually serious when it came to her job, despite maybe joking about it or going to pickpocket people in other cities occasionally. So when Gippal asked if she'd like to go the the carnival that was coming up, she was a bit surprised since she was so busy with working lately. She'd always told Yuna that she should just take it easy sometimes and relax, so maybe Rikku should follow her own advice.

She was happy that he had asked her out to go to the carnival though, so she made sure to keep the date of the carnival in mind until it came. After meeting up with Gippal and heading towards Nova City, they arrived outside of the carnival as she eagerly looked around.]

Wow, this sort of reminds me of the Calm Lands except there's a lot more to do here. Where to first?

[Gippal knew that Rikku was serious when it came to doing her job. When people depended on Rikku, she would give it her best. It was the same for Gippal. Back home, they had so many people depending on them. Gippal with the Machine Faction and Rikku with her work with the Gullwings. But when both of them got the chance to kick back and have fun or mess with each other? They'd obviously take it.

Right now was a chance to kick back and have some fun.]

Well that depends. Are you hungry? We could stop and get something to snack on. Otherwise, some of the games look fun. So do a lot of the rides. [He walked with her, spying some of the games as well as food places.]

[Mikoshiba didn't want to get strange looks, so he didn't wear a yukata this time around. He had enough spare money to spend on something fun, and he wanted to see what a carnival in a world other than his own was like. Maybe he would even see a real life dating sim play out in front of his very eyes.

However, he had forgotten to take into account it would be something different. Something different meant something unfamiliar, so he quickly shot a text to everyone he knew asking (more like begging) them to come find him and hang out before he drifted to a corner and chewed at his knuckles, getting a better eye for what was where for now.]

[ guess who shows up with cotton candy and in his school uniform without his jacket? this guy right here. he's also got a small black satchel type bag on his shoulder. he looks normal, except for the dark circles under his eyes. has he not been sleeping?

he notices Mikoshiba and comes up behind him rather quietly, finally he says something ]

Huh. This is a lot like last time except in a different place. [ he's looking at the other's outfit now, wondering if anyone has said anything to him about it ]

[ Yui was in a simple shorts and a sweater, even wearing tennis shoes and looking very comfortable. The idea of a carnival just seemed fun to her, even if she hadn't been able to find any of her classmates (the gods) to ask to come with her. Chances were one of them would find their way here eventually anyway.

But before that, she found Mikoshiba just as the text hit her phone. She'd just been about to say hi when he would likely be able to hear the messaged received sound from right behind him. ]

That's some incredibly timing...

[For Mikasa and Jean, to claim tensions were high would have been an understatement. While he was not eager to see Armin, he had mostly forgiven him, and the absence of the blonde was alarming. If he was worried, he couldn't imagine how Mikasa felt. He was worried about both of them, which is why he stuck by her and was helping her search right now in Nova City.

He heard the crowd before he saw it, and he had to do a double-take before he tapped his girlfriend on the shoulder.]

Do you know when that got there?

[It wasn't that Trost didn't have anything unlike this before things had gotten bad, but never to this extent and generally there was more dancing and drinking than anything else.]

[Mikasa has at least gotten over her initial freak out, but that wasn't to say that she wasn't still restless. Armin would have never been gone for that long without telling her why or where he was going. He would have contacted her and yet even in the late hours of morning he hadn't returned. Something had to be wrong and after Eren went home, she was already on edge. It was because of Jean and the others that she stopped searching recklessly without stopping that day, but her search hadn't stopped. She was going to find him and while she wasn't nearly as hasty as she had been, she was still diligent.

With Eren leaving and then Armin disappear on her, she was glad that Jean had been there for her even though she was probably acting worse about the news than Jean would have in the same situation. It was comforting.

Glancing over to the crowd once he tapped her shoulder and then the location...]

I... have no idea... I wonder what's going on there... [Or if anyone knew anything about Armin.]

[Friday was the day that Sun wanted to go out and spend the day at the Carnival with Blake. He’d be making some more trips back here, but he wasn’t going to drag Blake along every time. But today, his entire time there would be spent with her. He waited near the entrance for her with their tickets to get inside in hand, dressed casual as per usual.]

Labrador tried not to drag Castor towards the carnival as soon as they neared it. He kept reminding himself to stay calm though he was so excited about all this!

It'd been such a long time since they'd been to a carnival of any kind and this one looked much more exciting than the ones they had at the Church back home. Lab looked up expectantly at the roller-coaster which looked like great fun to him! Also... (he glanced over at Castor and held his hand just a little tighter) this would be the first time they've ever gone to one as a couple.

"It looks like we've come at the good time. There doesn't seem to be too many people waiting to go in."

There was no need for Labrador to say anything about the carnival, Castor could tell from the energy given off by the other, and the glaces and looks in the direction of the rides, that he had wanted to go. Of course Castor had enjoy carnivals as well and had on a number of occasions given impromptu puppet shows to the children attending them; which usually lead to a trail of them tailing him around for most of the day.

Today though it was only the one at his side that Castor was attending for, glancing at the rides they looked like they would be fun; perhaps a small thrill but for the most part rather manageable.

"It doesn't seem overcrowded, though there are probably more people than appear. Though you might need the wait in line to recover between rides, some of them are probably as bad as Frau's driving."

Getting tickets, Castor ensured there would be enough for them to ride plenty of things and perhaps play a few of the games.

Option 1: Waiting Area

Muse stood alone at the waiting area for the karaoke contest, waiting for her turn to take the podium and sing. The fairy was used to performing on stage and the size of the crowd doesn't matter to her. But this is the first time she's entering a contest in forever. The idea of a competition really pushes her to be at her best, and she just worries a little if she's well prepared enough for this sudden contest.

"Okay... I got this. I got this. I'm just going to sing. I know my song, and I got this... Sigh, what am I doing?"

Option 2: Show time!

Once it was her turn, Muse's nerves have calmed down. She was determined to give it her all and make this audience rock. Once Muse stepped on the podium, she twirled her mic in her hands and introduced herself, waving her arms in the air to greet the crowd while the technical crew get her song ready.

"Good evening, Nova City! Is everyone having fun?"

Muse leaned forward and put her hand on one ear to hear the enthusiastic crowd respond with a loud cheer. Some of them know Muse from her street performances, one of them being a producer on the scout for some new talent. He's had his eye on Muse for some time now. The song started to play on the speakers and the accompanying video played on the screen. Muse's feet started tapping along with the instrumental, getting a feel of the rhythm. Once the lyrics showed on screen, Muse followed and sang her heart out. Her singing talent shows with the way she sings every note without fail.
