Β»ACTION: HAMETE STRIP MALL
[ Just outside of Hamete Strip Mall the croon of a saxophone overlays the rustlings of retail. The sound is piercing and powerful, dappled with shrill highs that dip into plush, undulating lows. Notes fire at rapid succession, whirling into existence from the lips of a tall, dark haired man who’s swaying to their rhythmic influence. Beside him a black sax case sits open on the pavement with a scrap of cardboard propped up against it. There's something scrawled across it. It reads, "Hey, I'm Gren. I spent all of my money on this sax." Gren, our responsible musician, has his eyes closed and his brow is furrowed by concentration, but his mind is nowhere near Genessia City.

The memory is mundane and old and foggy around the edges. A woman hums at a sink full of dishes as a relic of a CD player sputters out the sound of an old tune. The song was ancient to even his mother, released years before she was born and several decades before he was. Nevertheless she loved it and as a side effect of its repetitious play he came to love it too. She's singing it now, questioning the room around her with a voice that sounds like it’s swaddled in a heap of velvet, rich and fervent. Does that make me crazy? Does that make me crazy?
In the present, released from that recollective trance, Gren breathes the last note of the song into his sax and then answers nobody. ]

Possibly. . .

[ Gren's new, unemployed, and broke. Won't you spare a bill or two? ]

[For once, Orihime is making this video NOT in the bakery, but just outside of the Genessia City Guardian's office, wearing her new silvery-lavender hoodie because yo she is on patrol.]

Good news! The new Cake Town bakery in Attleton is scheduled for September 14th, and to celebrate, we're going to have the ultimate grand opening event, with prizes and free cake!

[She holds up a fist, dark eyes flashing.]

Get ready for the Colosseum Combat Crash!!!!

[+_+]

It'll be a round robin style of tournament at the Attleton Colosseum, and I'll be gathering sponsors and prizes to aware to the competitors. The higher you finish, the sooner you get to choose from the prize rack, so first place gets first choice! Feel free to let me know if there's a certain prize you want me to add and I'll do what I can to get it there. Sponsors can donate prizes too if they'd like!

The usual rules would apply: don't kill or maim your opponent, don't go out of bounds... That's about it! I was able to rent the Colosseum for the whole day, and I'll also be on hand to heal competitors after each round so it's fair. Spectators are welcome, and there will be baked refreshments! If you'd like to sign up as a competitor, just let me know.

There's plenty of time to start training, so I hope to see you all there. Good luck!

[She bows slightly, beaming. Because why wouldn't cake and combat go together?]

Rapunzel
17 August 2018 @ 01:24 pm
I've finished my camping trip of discovery~

[Rapunzel appeared on the feed rather excited. In the background, it was soon obvious that she appeared to be in a tavern of some kind. Lanterns were strung up along the ceiling in a pattern to make them look like they were floating across the sky, the ceiling was painted a dark colour to show a night sky along with dots of stars done with exact star constellations.

If there was one thing Rapunzel was good at it was details. But that was only in the area she was currently in. After a moment, she moved to place some hair behind her ear.]

And I've decided a... couple of things and one you might have noticed right off the bat. I'm opening a business of my own. [A pause.] Sort of. It's more a charity in helping those who are unable to achieve their dreams easily and helping them to achieve it, but in order to do that, I opened this tavern which I have dubbed The Snuggly Duckling because... who doesn't like ducklings?

[She soon stopped playing with her hair before looking over her shoulder.] I will also be getting a haircut soon and giving the hair that is cut to a place where they are going to make wigs out of it. [She looked back, giving off a soft smile. She was sad about it, but at the same time she was wanting to do it.]

I will lose my powers of healing of course, but I need to move past it and help people in other ways instead. Besides... if I don't I can never move on from my... Gothel's shadow and that feeling that if she were to come here it would start all over again.

[As she spoke she seemed a little more confident.]

But never the less I am moving forward, helping in my own way and that reminds me... I've made some really spicy cookies and other food items and I need taste testers for it. I was thinking of the cookies being a challenge of some kind where if you can eat like three of them you win a prize or something. I don't know, but never the less they are super, super spicy.

Giorno Giovanna ; JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE
17 August 2018 @ 03:27 pm
Somewhere near the Mall

[Giorno is used to his world crashing down around him. It has, multiple times throughout his life. This wasn't any different, and even if he didn't know the streets here like the back of his hand he certainly did at home. Growing up a latchkey kid had its benefits, probably. So after the introduction, getting his phone and necklace and everything, Giorno takes off on his own. He wanders for a bit, money hot in his pocket but he's also looking to make more.]

[It kind of sucked to go through everything he'd just done just to end up back on the streets pick pocketing people, but again. Survival is a trait he gets from his Joestar and his Brando blood. So your character will see a young blond boy, about fifteen years old, with a very specific hairstyle wandering around, his hands shoved in his pockets and exploring. He doesn't seem too bothered by his predicament at all, but he's probably new.]

Scuse me.

[Giorno stops the next person he sees on the street, a soft look on his face. Between neutral and a smile, friendly. He pulls his hands out of his pockets to speak, waving them a little out of habit. You might recognize an Italian accent, if your character is familiar.]

Want to see a magic trick?

17 August 2018 @ 03:42 pm
[Looks like there's another wave of newcomers and there's one that actually read all of the information she was given and did some searching around for more information.]

Well, this is interesting. It looks like I might be the one owing some money to someone instead of him owing me money. Never expected Dante to win an elected position.

Dante, I'm going to need a bit of help getting myself set up here. I'll pay you back once I've got things up and going.

Evie Grimhilde (Descendants 1, 2 and 3)
17 August 2018 @ 03:45 pm
[ The blue-haired girl on the screen looks mildly annoyed, as if it's just barely under the surface and she's trying her best to keep herself composed. She is, after all, a princess. She was taught to keep her composure, even in the worst situation and while this isn't the biggest mess she's been in? It still sucks, for a variety of reasons. One of which is the temporary housing she finds herself in, but that's a rant for another day. ]

Evie Grimhilde, hi. Pleasure to meet you, I'm sure.

[ At least she's telling the truth, there. ]

I'm familiar with this whole 'in the wrong universe' situation. I spent a year in a wild west colony on another planet. Showed up there outside their Customs and Processing building while I'd been on the way to classes.

This time around, I was on my way home and suddenly, I'm here. I had someone traveling with me and I'm hoping they're here, too.

[ She shifts some on the twin bed she's seated on, trying to find a way to sit comfortably but not quite managing. Or maybe she's just stressed from her interrupted trip. ]

His name is Jack Kelly. You'll know if you met him. He's tall, dark hair, blue eyes, muscular.

[ And she's clearly fond of this guy. ]

And a bit rough around the edges, but friendly. If you've seen him, let me know. It'd be nice to be in an unfamiliar place with someone familiar. I know, the likelihood of that happening are slim to none. But, one can't help but hope.

[ That being said: ]

In the mean time, I was wondering what people could tell me about employment opportunities. I'm fantastic at cooking and sewing. I had my own custom clothing store back in New Dodge, the place I was before here. I'm also interested in chemistry. Straight A student back in Auradon and I helped with a crisis or two in the aforementioned space colony. If anyone has job suggestions, please let me know. I don't sit idle very well.

[ With that, she shuts her feed down and sighs, frowning some to herself. N o p e. She likes none of this goblin refuse. ]

Hello. My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by CyberLife. [ The circle on the side of this guy's head just blinks yellow the entire time. Red for a second while he glances off after saying that then back to yellow. He idly straightens out his tie. ] That won't mean anything here.

Due to the unknown location of Genessia, it is difficult to determine if it is blocking incoming signals or if it is too far to retrieve one. I'm unable to connect back to my source of origin and part of my database may now be outdated. The CPU operating this place has been... uncooperative.

The information given on arrival has been helpful and informative, however additional data will need to be collected. There remains a significant lack of familiar terms within the network. Since I have determined I am currently the lone representative of my "world" and will need to be self-sufficient, any offer of additional information about the locale would be appreciated. For example, details of where to find those familiar with repairing bio-components would be of great use for future reference.

I am designed primarily to assist human law enforcement but contain features that can be applied in a number of positions. I've considered my options but I am open to suggestions of where to be of the most use. I would like to assist in any manner possible.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Emil
17 August 2018 @ 06:29 pm
[Well, this was clearly no city Emil has ever heard of. Which was worrisome, but on the other hand, he may not have anyone hunting him here. That'd be a bonus. The information available at the entrance of the bay had been immensely helpful, and had answered a fair number of questions he'd had. Most of the others, he'd already gleaned off of the network.

Finding information was one thing Emil had always been skilled at. Living on his own like this though? That was something else entirely. Especially since he had trouble walking. Still connected to the network, he sent out a test message.]

Greetings, people of Genessia. I am new to this city, and am in need of work and possibly better lodging than what is initially provided for newbies.

I am skilled with computers and tech support if that helps any.

Nero

GENESSIA COMMONSPACE
[ The groggy haze hasn't yet exactly worn off this demon hunter here and Nero finds himself crashed on the bed he has in this (temporary) room of his. Arm draped across his eyes, he's about five seconds away from conking out where he hopes when he wakes this will all be a bad dream, when the sound of WHATEVER THAT IS keeps him from doing so. With a scowl, he throws himself off the bed, yanks open the door (and nearly off its hinges oops) and- ]

Hey! You wanna keep it down?!

[ He'll just yell that down the hall to whoever or whatever that is. ]

GENESSIA CITY
[ Moving down the streets with a scowl on his face (not like he ever wears another expression) is a white-haired, sword strapped to his back with a glowing blue arm guy. He's heard the spiel about this place, is annoyed with this whole kidnapped by spirits shtick going on here, and can't remember the last time he actually ate something so that's where he's headed. Or hopes he is.

The first food place he finds, he drops some of those red bills down and asks what he can get with some of this and, as he waits for his food to be brought to him, if you're staring, he's gonna feel that... even address you without looking over. ]

Take a picture, it'll last longer.

[ That, or, he's going to be sitting there at whatever table is available, head in his hands and clearly just DONE with this place already. ]

[This place was boring. Making a living was easy enough. Just find a padlock that looked old, rip it off and take something small within. In and out, no muss, no heroes, nothing. But these guardians still held society up, and he couldn't help but be annoyed. So, he began doing what he normally did when he was allowed some free-time: he hit up the arcades.]

[He'd be going from arcade to arcade, taking whatever high scores he could, and generally making a fool out of anyone that challenged him. He wasn't abnormally good, but he was very good at adapting to each game's quirks and finding the best way to win. Sure there would always be someone that could topple him eventually, but that was part of the fun. However, even as he tried to blend in, those that knew what to look for would notice he always had an odd way of holding joysticks or peripherals like light guns. He was always exceptionally careful to not let all his fingertips touch something at once...]
