I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

1 - Setup / Before stage

Rose has her giant (it's normal sized, but she's tiny in comparison) bass guitar slung on the shoulders over the back of her dress, but in spite of herself, can't help but stopping and whispering in awe, "Oh wow..." She's rocketed herself through the multiverse, seen black holes, demons, and gods, but still. THIS? This is gorgeous. And it's not even done yet! So even if she looks like a country bumpkin, out of time, out of place, she's still happily tingling in awe of it all.

1 - Setup / ON Stage

Rose gets her axe (bass) out and with a wolfish grin jokes to anyone who'll listen, "Woops, looks like I brought my axe to a laser fight." Get it? Get it? Nah, you had to be there. BUT IT'S FUNNY, SHUT UP!


V - For the most part, Rose is on stage for all of it, back-up bass, back-up singer, except when appropriate or necessary for her to take over, and for all her mopes lately, even the Doctor would have trouble seeing it through the show persona she happily falls into instead.

Between sets, she grabs a drink -- non-alcoholic! The last thing she needs is to embarrass herself on stage or right after again!! -- and grins at anyone nearby, clearly hoping for conversation before back to "work." She lives for the Beatles (who doesn't?!) but at "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You," she completely gives up trying to hide her face, and turns her back so she's facing the curtain. She's fine.


VI - Most of her friends are Chaperones rather than students, of course, so Rose sneaks up on them when they're not suspecting it and covers their eyes from behind with a quiet, "Having fun?" They better be!


VII - WHEW. After it's done, last song, CLOSING TIME, Rose just wants to get home and kick off her heels. Next time, no matter how formal the wear, she's totally pulling a Fluffy and wearing trainers no matter what! Still, she's happy. A lot more than when she came in, and anyone glancing her way will get a reassuring smile. Even the Professor. Maybe. Probably.

[He smiles at her wonder but tries not to get caught doing it. For the most part he sets up quietly, only speaking when he has to]

[She catches him setting up, but he doesn't say anything to her so... why should she talk to him?]

[She's glad she's not in the TARDIS. She doesn't need No Doubt's "Don't Speak" to remind her how she already feels about the situation.]

[You and me, I can see us dying, are we?]

[Maybe she was being too dramatic.]

[But she didn't know how to fix that either.]

[She could fake it. Act like nothing was going on, but what was the point? Would it make him feel better? Worse? He'd see through it either way, and she didn't feel like wasting energy.]

[She was trying not to feel like when he'd died, like she just had to find the one secret solution, the one point that caused it all, to prevent it all, to undo the dominoes.]

[That was the difference between this and the fifth dimension. She told him so herself.]

[Rose doesn't say anything either, it's better not to look his way and just focus on everything else.]

[She still wished she had something. Some magic trick to repair it all. They always had in the past, but it was like he said, wasn't it? They'd diverged. Except for Rose. It was always that way for her. She ran away from home, but when she got back, had to pick things back up even though they weren't the same as when she left them. Truth AND Consquences. Mickey'd been arrested and detained on suspicion of her murder four times, yet somehow still forgave her. Jack went through a hell even worse than Rose all because of her, but didn't even think there was anything to forgive. All those times, it was about what Rose wanted. But this time it wasn't. It wasn't really those times either. She hadn't wanted Mickey arrested or miserable, or lonely, or missing her, or staying in a separate universe, and Jack... definitely hadn't wanted the torture for Jack. But she did want the other things that caused that. That cost it. She wanted Jack alive. She wanted to run off on adventures even though it meant leaving Mickey behind.]

[Maybe she still did. Want those adventures so badly, even if it meant leaving the Doctor behind? Except... No. It wasn't adventures without him. It was hell, pure and simple. Argh....]

[Rose was a little too distracted in her thoughts and avoiding looking in the Doctor's direction, which is how she took a face first somersault stumble over a giant speaker that hadn't been properly placed yet and had to fix her dress, growling and cursing.]

[that is a cough not a suppressed chuckle whatever you might think. He acts like he didn't see it at all. But when she moves from the spot he'll put the speaker in the right place.]

[SO RED.]

[And not even a hand up, Doctor? GOSH.]

[She wants to laugh it off, but it's hard to come up with a joke when he's still treating her like a ghost.]

[See her. The her right here and now....]

[She just tosses her hair, good thing it's loose tonight.] Heels too high. [Sticks her tongue out at him.]

[if he didn't see her he wouldn't have la-- coughed. In any case he thought they weren't talking to one another so that seems the best way to go about it. He hums to say that he heard and focuses on tuning his guitar]

[No. That was you. She just left the ball in your court.]

[Don't mind her moving away to the far side of the stage.]

[She tried.]

[she did. But honestly there's nothing good would come from it anyway so it's better this way.]

[ Era is just trying to mind her own business here, making sure all of the wiring on stage it taped down to prevent any tripping hazards, then awkwardly perching on an amp and quietly tuning her violin. Once satisfied that everything is in order, she stands and moves to the end of the stage opposite of Rose and the Professor to warm up.

She plays bits and pieces of various songs. An Irish jig, a classic, and a 'modern' cover. She ends up playing a majority of the cover song, venting some of her frustrations through the music.

As much as she'd be happy to interact with her fellow musicians she also doesn't really have it in her tonight to get involved unless absolutely necessary. Two weeks ago she should have been married, and now she's come to a prom alone in another world.

But at least it makes for great music, right? Right? ]

[ Era has yet to hear a base guitar in person before, so she falters for a measure to listen to the tone before continuing with a practiced ease that comes from playing music in the midst of a fierce battle for one's life. ]

[Winks and doesn't falter, just keeps a steady tempo, playing some easy warm-ups.]

[ She abandons her own warm-ups and takes the time now to figure out how to blend their sounds together in a way that is harmonious. Her success varies depending on how adventurous and experimental she tries to be. ]

[Era, you're doing it backwards. Rose is rhythm and backup.]

[When Era starts trying to follow Rose's lead, Rose just falters in confusion.]

Okay I'm missing your maths steps here. [A small laugh.]

[Maths because, Geometric magic meets music. It's totally clever, all right?]

Hikari's experience with guitars mostly came from being a member of the audience at Yamato's concerts. So she had very little in the way of personal knowledge, and as such, was going exclusively on the low whisper Rose gave as she held her provided bass.

"I hope it will suffice for the evening," she dipped her head down modestly as she approached the stage to check on the event's live entertainment.

A tongue lolling grin, "Shouldn't that be my line?" She put on a pair of ridiculous purple sunglasses and struck a pose. "Don't worry I learned from the best!"

Herself.

Well, and the Doctor.

And copying a lot of the best rockstars.

There was something about Rose that reminded Hikari of Miyako. Or maybe Daisuke. Or at least some combination of the two of them.

Maybe it was the purple, combined with the pose.

Whatever it was, it caused a soft giggle as she shook her head. "I'm not worried at all. I trust the Professor's judgement as much as I trust Mimi's."

[bigbadrose]

"Really?" Rose looked a bit... surprised at that.

And a blink.

"Ah! That's good! Yeah, he's... mostly trustworthy... ish... as many as any bloke, really."

"He has a good heart."

It was her default response, and meant (mostly) metaphorically...which was why, after a moment's pause, she realized the error with her statement:

"...well...hearts, I suppose." And without seeing the need to elaborate on that further, she continued on. "That's how I know I can trust him."

"Of course. I have a banana." Then sexy eye winks; don't mind the tie around his head or the sunglasses, "You were absolutely brilliant up thar."

Rose laughs so much at that, and tries not to be reminded of her March concert fight with 12, his banana, and tie around his head too. Some things never changed, but she wouldn't want him any other way.

"Psshh... Shut up!" she laughed and lightly pushed him with one hand. "I'm not done yet, just takin' a breather," she bit her bottom lip shyly.

She realized pretty instantly how much he must be missing Martha though, so she took his hand in hers, locking their fingers together and beamed up at him. "Next song is all for you, I promise."

Was that leading him on? Would Sarah Jane scold her for that? Well, whatever.

Ten eskimo kisses Rose before taking her in his arms and whisking her away in a dance, which starts as a waltz but will change if Rose wants too.

Nope, a waltz is fine, and Rose leans on him happily, swaying and dancing with the music and him, all happy bubbles inside she's afraid will pop --

Before cracking up laughing. "I meant the next one I play! On bass!" ALL the giggles. And she pushes her hair back with a laugh. "But you can have this one too." Tsunnnn....

Ten is laughing and grinning rather cheeky; and sends Rose spinning and twirling out and back into his arms before holding her close.

Rose laughs right back, spinning out and in, ear to ear grins, and cheekily dancing snug against him suggestively, just to be a pain.
