I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.

I - SETUP

[Clipboard in hand with a list of all the afternoon's tasks, Hikari will be found...just about anywhere at any given time. Checking on the lights to be hung over the dance floor. The centerpieces for the tables. Taking stock of the food deliveries, and with a bit of help from the Hotel Staff, keeping the hot dishes sitting in a warm oven and the cooler dishes refrigerated.]

[Somehow, she manages to find time to eat during all of this. Snacking throughout. In fact, it wouldn't be difficult to find her with a piece of fruit or sandwich in hand. The only thing she seemed to be neglecting, in fact, would be her own preparations for the upcoming event. Her dress in a bag in the back of a designated "staff room", shoes and makeup/hair bag on the adjacent shelf, seemingly forgotten until the last minute.

II - HOTEL LOBBY

[Despite this, at half six, the young girl will be seen in the Hotel Lobby, dressed in a cute, modest pink dress, completely with flowers adorning her usual hairstyle and the lightest traces of makeup on her face. She looks pleased with herself, though anyone who knows her well enough would be able to read the expression more as one of pure relief.]

[As guests begin to arrive, she'll settle down and transition from the role of host to that of a fellow prom attendee. Smiling at any familiar face who approaches. Maybe recommending one of the hors d'oeuvre being passed around.]

III - PROM PHOTOS

[For the first and last hours of the night, Hikari will be on hand to take anyone's Official Prom photo who requests. Any special prints will have to be custom ordered, but a single digital copy will be available complimentary to all.]

[Of course, Hikari herself notably remains behind the camera, not in front of it...unless someone can convince her otherwise.]

IV - EATING/DRINKING

[Running an entire prom can leave a girl with a big appetite.]

[Perhaps not as large as her brother's...or her digimon's...but there would be a healthy portion of food found on her plate later in the evening as she took a rest break, sitting herself at one of the several open tables. She seems to have sampled a bit of everything, including a second plate devoted entirely for sweets.]

[Most notably, she opted for water instead of any punch.]

V - DANCE FLOOR

[Ever the introverted walflower, Hikari happily watches the crowds on the dance floor from the sidelines. Content to celebrate the evening vicariously through them...unless someone comes up and invites her for a dance.]

1 - Setup / Before stage

Rose has her giant (it's normal sized, but she's tiny in comparison) bass guitar slung on the shoulders over the back of her dress, but in spite of herself, can't help but stopping and whispering in awe, "Oh wow..." She's rocketed herself through the multiverse, seen black holes, demons, and gods, but still. THIS? This is gorgeous. And it's not even done yet! So even if she looks like a country bumpkin, out of time, out of place, she's still happily tingling in awe of it all.

1 - Setup / ON Stage

Rose gets her axe (bass) out and with a wolfish grin jokes to anyone who'll listen, "Woops, looks like I brought my axe to a laser fight." Get it? Get it? Nah, you had to be there. BUT IT'S FUNNY, SHUT UP!


V - For the most part, Rose is on stage for all of it, back-up bass, back-up singer, except when appropriate or necessary for her to take over, and for all her mopes lately, even the Doctor would have trouble seeing it through the show persona she happily falls into instead.

Between sets, she grabs a drink -- non-alcoholic! The last thing she needs is to embarrass herself on stage or right after again!! -- and grins at anyone nearby, clearly hoping for conversation before back to "work." She lives for the Beatles (who doesn't?!) but at "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You," she completely gives up trying to hide her face, and turns her back so she's facing the curtain. She's fine.


VI - Most of her friends are Chaperones rather than students, of course, so Rose sneaks up on them when they're not suspecting it and covers their eyes from behind with a quiet, "Having fun?" They better be!


VII - WHEW. After it's done, last song, CLOSING TIME, Rose just wants to get home and kick off her heels. Next time, no matter how formal the wear, she's totally pulling a Fluffy and wearing trainers no matter what! Still, she's happy. A lot more than when she came in, and anyone glancing her way will get a reassuring smile. Even the Professor. Maybe. Probably.

Era Ra ☘ FFXIV ☘ OTA

☘ SETUP

[ Era arrives to help with some of the set-up mid afternoon. She can carry surprisingly heavy things if need be, and has an eye for aesthetic appeal, but is too short to really help with any of the decorating. Instead she lingers around the sound stage, vaguely familiar with some of the more modern technology like amps, electric guitars, and microphones, and makes herself available to anyone who may need an extra hand. ]

☘ HOTEL LOBBY

[ Knowing very few people doesn't bother Era as much as it might because this is something she's been through numerous times in the past. In Xistentia she made dear friends from striking up small conversations with strangers at social events. She isn't the greatest at vocal conversation - speaking more than a couple sentences at a time for extended periods is not something she enjoys unless it's scholarly discussion, at which point she will push her voice further than she might otherwise.

But she's alone in Genessia. While she has found a companion in Hanzo and Sertoria, and has begun to offer casual mentorship to at least one young warrior, it is a far cry from the numerous allies she made for herself both back home and in Xistentia. She misses the comradery and sense of safety she had, and she'll only have herself to blame for it if she doesn't do her best to socialize at this event.

So Era keeps an eye out for those who may be nearer to her own age or older (around their mid-twenties and above), tentatively introducing herself to the ones whose eyes don't linger for too long on her horns or tail. ]

☘ EATING/DRINKING

[ Food is something Era can get behind, and though she could probably devour the entirety of what's laid out before her she also has self-control and respect for others. Still, she can be found frequenting the buffet, eating halves of sandwiches and plates of pasta at regular intervals. She burns through a lot of aether on a daily basis and food is one of the best ways to replenish it.

She doesn't keep a close eye on the drinks, but that's more because she avoids them entirely. Too many times has she encountered poisoned beverages and so now she simply supplies her own. There is a glass flask of ... something colourful that she pulls out of a pocket that shouldn't fit something so large, sipping at it every now and then between bites. ]

☘ DANCE FLOOR

[ When not on stage playing her violin she can be found on the dance floor. Part of the reason she made her dress the length it was was that it would make it easier to dance without interference or worry she might step on her skirts.

Modern dance is something Era hasn't quite yet grasped, though not for lack of trying - her main dance partner over the past year has been Aymeric, and as an Ishgardian noble of high military rank he's more comfortable with a ballroom style of dance. Era has been teaching him other styles - things of a faster pace - but there has always been so much else to do and not enough time to do it all.

Gender of partner doesn't matter to Era (dance is dance is dance) and neither does height (she is 4'8" and her husband is 6'8", so she's quite accustomed to tall partners). She may not be the most exuberant conversationalist but Era is always happy to share the freeing joy of dance with anyone and everyone, offering her hand to wallflowers who look like they could use a bit of fun. If refused she kicks up no fuss - just smiles and continues on her way. There are people who just don't like dancing for various reasons, or don't feel comfortable dancing with strangers, and Era understands that.

Era dances alone as much as she seeks out others to dance with, and is always ready to shift her movements to accommodate someone stepping in to join her. Just make sure to keep your hands at her waist and no lower and you'll have no problems. ]

☘ CHAPERONE

[ While not an official chaperone of any sort, Era does feel a sense of responsibility to safeguard the younger partygoers. She lets them do as they like, ignoring anything that she doesn't deem a dangerous activity. If a teenager goes for alcohol she doesn't bat an eye (in Eorzea it's not a forbidden thing), or if perhaps a couple gets too handsy she doesn't intervene (unless one party is clearly disinterested).

Era is a warrior; a protector. What she keeps alert for is anything that may threaten the safety of those enjoying themselves. ]

[Anastasia has arrived early as she often tends to do, but given the occasion, it's a shocker that she actually shows up with a date. However, it's not a date-date, but just friends looking to hang out and probably make more friends.]

[A special occasion deserves a special commemorative photo, right? On one hand, Anastasia would like to get one, but at the same time, she wonders if that's truly a wise idea. She'll stay close by, but she'll need to talk it over with someone.]

[Though she tries to be social, once she is actually out in large crowds, Anastasia tends to shy away. She can be found sitting on one of many chairs along the edge of the dance floor, a cup of fruit punch in her hands. Her not!date seems to left her, a good time to talk to her or even ask her for a dance until her not!date returns.]

[He smiles at her wonder but tries not to get caught doing it. For the most part he sets up quietly, only speaking when he has to]

[She catches him setting up, but he doesn't say anything to her so... why should she talk to him?]

[She's glad she's not in the TARDIS. She doesn't need No Doubt's "Don't Speak" to remind her how she already feels about the situation.]

[You and me, I can see us dying, are we?]

[Maybe she was being too dramatic.]

[But she didn't know how to fix that either.]

[She could fake it. Act like nothing was going on, but what was the point? Would it make him feel better? Worse? He'd see through it either way, and she didn't feel like wasting energy.]

[She was trying not to feel like when he'd died, like she just had to find the one secret solution, the one point that caused it all, to prevent it all, to undo the dominoes.]

[That was the difference between this and the fifth dimension. She told him so herself.]

[Rose doesn't say anything either, it's better not to look his way and just focus on everything else.]

[She still wished she had something. Some magic trick to repair it all. They always had in the past, but it was like he said, wasn't it? They'd diverged. Except for Rose. It was always that way for her. She ran away from home, but when she got back, had to pick things back up even though they weren't the same as when she left them. Truth AND Consquences. Mickey'd been arrested and detained on suspicion of her murder four times, yet somehow still forgave her. Jack went through a hell even worse than Rose all because of her, but didn't even think there was anything to forgive. All those times, it was about what Rose wanted. But this time it wasn't. It wasn't really those times either. She hadn't wanted Mickey arrested or miserable, or lonely, or missing her, or staying in a separate universe, and Jack... definitely hadn't wanted the torture for Jack. But she did want the other things that caused that. That cost it. She wanted Jack alive. She wanted to run off on adventures even though it meant leaving Mickey behind.]

[Maybe she still did. Want those adventures so badly, even if it meant leaving the Doctor behind? Except... No. It wasn't adventures without him. It was hell, pure and simple. Argh....]

[Rose was a little too distracted in her thoughts and avoiding looking in the Doctor's direction, which is how she took a face first somersault stumble over a giant speaker that hadn't been properly placed yet and had to fix her dress, growling and cursing.]

[that is a cough not a suppressed chuckle whatever you might think. He acts like he didn't see it at all. But when she moves from the spot he'll put the speaker in the right place.]

A. Pre-Party

[Ted--would you believe he never attended charm school?--endeavored to be the perfect gentleman for his date tonight, opening doors ahead of time, and so on. The two of them made a couple with classic appeal, bringing to mind the phrase "opposites attract." Ted was all smiles, with a white rose for his boutonniere. His date, as always, was likely frowning with her eternal solemnity and no-nonsense demeanor. Satsuki, nicknamed "Star" by yours truly, had taken it upon herself to dress him in a handsome black tuxedo. Only obedient, deferential love could allow it, fond as he is of colors and not their antipodes. Still, Satsuki is, to put it mildly, knowledgeable about clothes, and tailored it to bring out his best features.]

[Ted, lover of novelties that he is, is only too happy to be sharing such a new experience with his years-long benefactor. It's why, amidst the small talk and frothy socializing, he takes the opportunity to boast to any who will listen.]

She looks stunning, doesn't she? Don't we complement well?

B. Dance Floor

Haha, goodness, Star, cast your gaze towards the ceiling. It's almost too thematically appropriate, eh? Just your thing.

[He refers, of course, to the prom's theme: "Dancing in (with?) the Starlight." Don't mind if he does! It's no secret that dancing is very much his thing; in fact, this is what he's been looking forward to most of all. They'd sunk plenty of hours into fencing, but now came the time for a very different kind of footwork.]

How about we start with a waltz, and work our way from there?

[Sorry, Satsuki; partner dances necessitate getting hands-on. If his partner will let him, he'll give her a break to pluck some of the other flowers off the wall for dances too. What a gentleman.]

C. Wild card

[Let's be honest: Satsuki will probably need a break from him at some point. He's happy to mingle, talk about romance, show you a few dance moves, or even goof off and pull a few lighthearted pranks.

[She doesn't want to fight over an amp though, so she sets up her own and stands next to him, giving him a questioning look.]
