GENESSIA PROM!

I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (~~LMFAO style~~).

VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

II. Hotel Lobby
[This was silly. She was an adult and while she's never been to a "prom" before herself, she did attempt to throw the Christmas Ball way back. Even so, she didn't get many chances to dress up and just have a night to herself, so why not just do it? Not to mention the fact that Sertoria would have dragged her with, anyways.

So there she was just waiting around for a bit. She didn't arrive with Sertoria (since she dragged Soldier: 76 with her), but she was just mingling for a little while with people she might know. Wearing a long, pale pink dress with hints of gold, she also had her hair down in curls for a change. It was easier to put her hair up on most days to get it out of the way, but she figured that it was a special occasion. She didn't have much for accessories beyond some earrings to go with her shoes to pull out some of the gold from her dress.

She'd love to talk to people she knows, but otherwise she'll be mingling with people or just waiting on her date.]

IV. Eating/Drinking
[Look, at some point of the night, she's bound to get hungry. She might even crack open a cold one with the boys considering how this night might go, but for now, she's playing by ear. When she's not busy with her date and maybe people she knows, you might find her checking out what food they have or the bar. Good thing she's definitely legal age to drink.]

V. Dance Floor
[While she'll probably spend most of her time with her date, she does like to have a bit of fun with some of her friends that may be going as well. Slow dances are more than likely reserved, but dancing for the heck of it? Why not? Otherwise, she'll just be hanging out by the tables in between dance breaks or just relaxing.]

VII. Closed to Jack
[She's all for spending time with friends -- and she will -- but more than that... One of her best friends just arrived about a week ago and she was more keen on spending time with him. After all, just finding out someone you cared for and thought was dead turning out to be alive this entire time... That kind of revelation made you want to focus on them now that they're here.

Besides, do you know how hard it was to get him to agree to come with her? If he wasn't here, she might not have gone or if she did, she'd go alone or with Sertoria. She even had the extra money and made sure to get him something to wear, besides his normal attire; She's at least allowing him to keep his visor on. Personally she'd like it if he didn't wear it, but really... She knew -- to some extent -- the life he was living these days and that he was in hiding so to speak. As much as it bothered her, she wouldn't force him to go without it if he didn't want to. She'd keep her word to keep his real identity secret. If nothing else, she just wanted to spend time with him, so she could at least manage that much.

So there she was waiting for him to show up. She was just... hoping that he wouldn't flake out on her and stand her up. Maybe it was silly, but the thought of asking him to something like prom and then the fear of being stood up was a real concern of hers. That was something a teenager would worry about, but there may have been more behind it than just simply wanting him to get out. This date meant something to her, though she wasn't sure if he'd feel the same.]

[ Jack would have preferred to not be at prom at all. He'd gone when he was in high school. Took his sweetheart at the time, perfect couple, everything that was talk of the small Indiana town. Until the boy scout ran off to the military. It felt more and more like Genessia was trying to force him to be Jack Morrison again, when he was anyone but that man.

He only showed up because Angela insisted. Angela was the one keeping the roof over his head at the moment. So, those manners he was raised with echoed in his head as he put on the tux that she left him. Hopefully she wouldn't want to stay late and he'd go back to sulking on her covered porch, trying to figure out what to do next.

Jack quietly stepped up beside her. The visor was still on his face, but, dressed for the occasion. It'd been six years since he stood in any kind of fancy dress. The dress blues had been put to he back of the closet like everything else. ]

Last I knew, prom was something teenagers went to in high school.

[Not like she would be against that, but she also wouldn't force him to be someone he's not anymore. She just wanted to spend the night out with him and prom or not, it was technically a date. Prom was just a convenient excuse for her to invite him on one. If he didn't want to stay the entire time, fine, but she'll keep him for half of the time at least.]

Yeah, and I don't get the chance to dress up very often so you'll just have to deal with it. [Glancing to him.] But at least you showed up. I'd feel like crap if you stood me up.

You look handsome, by the way.

It'd be rude to leave the woman whose porch I'm staying on waiting. [ He gives a nonchalant shrug and his head turns. The mask hides his face, but, he wants to hide how much he sounds like his old self with that remark. Just like when he helped the girl in Dorado. ] Guess there isn't much time to dress up when you work at a hospital most the day.

[ A small glance is sent back towards her. ] Dress looks nice on you.

Yeah, you know... You can sleep inside, it's fine... I do have more than enough space.

Not really, no. Don't really have a reason to do so normally, either. I guess I sort of just wanted to use prom as an excuse to do so.

I'm sure you've got someone else that needs that room. I doubt your instincts of a doctor stop at the hospital.

[ Hell, he actually knows that it doesn't. Still. He's trying to put some kind of room between them. Distance himself from the situation if he needs to. ]

Can't blame you there. Prom was always a hell of at hing back in Indiana. [ He sighs from behind the mask. ]

Soldier.... Just take the room. I wouldn't have offered it to you if It was taken...

[At least she's making sure not to call him Jack here.]

Well, I can't say I've ever had the chance to go, so I guess that makes you my first prom date.

[ That's the most he'll say about the topic for now. There's a subtle thank you and appreciation for not using his former name -- real name -- in public. He doesn't want to inspire people to be heroes anymore. He doesn't want to be seen as a hero. And that's all he can think of when someone says the name 'Jack Morrison.'

There was a time when the association of Overwatch to 'Jack Morrison' made him smile with pride. Now it's just like a wound that won't heal. ]

It was the last big celebration before you were released into the adult world. That and graduation parties. Still, prom was where you dressed in the best and tried to make statements about how you were an adult now.

[ He bites his tongue from saying 'first and only date', if only because of the connotation it might imply. ]

You planning on going to any more proms?

[That does make her chuckle a bit.]

I guess all of my studying got in the way of that. It's time to catch up, I suppose; although it's a bit late for that now, isn't it?

[Losing your family when you're young due to war and then trying to become a doctor to save lives wasn't easy to juggle as a teenager. She'd always had top grades and focused on her goal, so things like prom just... never became a thing for her. It's not like she had the money to go to one at the time anyways. She couldn't afford a nice dress or anything that came with it.]

No, not particularly. I might throw a few get togethers [In which she promised Cloud she'd do and hadn't.], but nothing like this. I guess I did organize a Christmas Ball with suggestions people made to me to meet new people and spend time with others.

Not much point in trying to catch up on that kind of thing. Unless it was something you had always wanted to do and didn't get the chance.

[ Looking back at it? There isn't much special about prom, or anything like that. It didn't amount to much. Jack didn't stay with his date. There was no marriage, kids, house, or any of that. He graduated and ran straight into the military. The boy scout from Indiana. Lot of good any of that did him.

Putting his own shit aside? It sank in how much of a different life Angela had. Growing up in a post-Omnic Crisis war versus before it... he always knew her life had been rough. There wasn't much to hide when they recruited someone into Overwatch. Seeing it though, in a normal civilian setting? That's different. ]

Just let me know when you plan on doing that. I'll make sure my crap isn't in the way. [ Meaning he'll probably be hiding somewhere. He's had enough of parties and all of that for a life time. ] Yeah? How did that go?

I don't think that'll be an issue really. [He can leave his shit and participate, you know..] I think it went pretty well. I had some help, but it probably wasn't the best organization. Still, a lot of people had fun and it served it's purpose.

...Not sure the dressing up thing is strictly related.

[ He shifts then, almost as if he's uncomfortable. Good to know he can open his big fat mouth and stupid crap will still come out of it. So much for having left the boy scout life behind. Soldier turns his head away then, as if trying to hide some embarrassment she can't see anyways. ]

You never know what guests might want to wander onto the porch. [ There's an air of humor there. ] Then, I'd say it was a mission that was successful.

Sure it is. It would look strange for me to go to work wearing a formal dress, now wouldn't it?

[But it does get her to smile lightly.]

You are allowed to talk to people, you know. I'm not locking you down. Besides, making a few friends wouldn't hurt.

I meant you could dress up without having to go prom. Pretty sure there are other functions where that'd be appreciated.

[ ...not that he is implying dates. He's thinking business dinners, cocktail parties, things that renowned doctors like herself go to. ]

I suppose, if I actually went to anything that called for it.

[Winry found herself looking over the various treats that were sitting on the table, unsure of what to try. She hadn't eaten since breakfast and she knew that was a bad thing. So maybe the pasta dish? It wasn't long before the young woman was talking to herself.]

Pasta first... or a sandwich? Maybe I could just have some fruit... but then the vegetables I could have with the pasta.

There's a lot of options to choose from. I'm having a hard time to decide myself.

There are a lot of possibilities even in the desserts there are so many combos. but the question just how does one choose what to start with. But I am tempted by pasta regardless. Just not sure what with.

I was actually thinking about the pasta. Is there something you like in particular?

I think I like a good portion of what can go with it.

[She looks around before making sure she had a plate. After a moment or two she picks some of the pasta that seemed to have some kind of sauce on it along with some nice looking vegetables.]

There I made my choice. Cannot go back now.
