I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

While he kept his eyes on his dance partner, he would occasional take a quick glance to see what the humans were doing.]

[ She keeps pace easily, clearly well-versed in the art of dance and fine with him taking the lead. She notes that his attention flits about, but it doesn't bother her in the least - just gives her time to keep an eye on her surroundings.

Era is not good at conversation, really. Especially not when it pertains to herself. Aymeric has always been the conversationalist of the two of them. But she makes a token effort at it. ]

Dhaos. I am Era Ra de Borel. I am an adventurer, and have been here for just over one month.

[Dhaos continues to lead, even as the music shifted to a slower one. He'll keep a reasonable distance during the Waltz.]

How has this world treated you thus far, Miss Borel?

'Lady'. [ The correction escapes her before she can truly think of it. During her time in Ishgard her friends had tried to teach her about all the various titles, lest she embarrass herself. In the end Era learned it was safest to call everyone Lord or Lady.

It's strange to think of herself as a viscountess now, however. If such holdings still remain in the Holy See... ]

But simply Era is fine. And the world thus far has treated me well enough, despite separating me from my husband. [ She frowns - pouts, really - and decides to be a bit more candid: ] I've found it rather boring. Disappointingly so.

[Dhaos lets out a hearty chuckle at the correction, then listened quietly to the rest of Era's explanation.]

I am sure he misses you dearly. I would to if I could call a woman such as you my wife.

And truly?

[This was a mild surprise. Dhaos had always known humans to try to kill anyone who weren't "normal."]

[ She brushes off the flattery, uncertain of what to do with it. Compliments are nothing she's really accustomed to. And she would also rather not imagine Aymeric going through what she has been with missing him... ]

Truly. Exploring is all well and good, but this world is so... [ She struggles to find the right word. In the end she settles for: ] Safe.

What of you, Dhaos?

[As time wore on, Dhaos's expression steadily shifted from a kindly gentleman to a stoic man.]

I admit, I find myself adjusting...slowly. I come from a dying world where man feared and hated me, threatening and swinging swords at me while screaming "monster."

It is a turbulent world, and I find myself unable to trust humans.

[astralera]

People fear what they don't understand. I put little credence into someone's race. You can be betrayed by your own kind just as you can find an ally in another.

[ She can understand his distrust, certainly. But she has also made powerful allies of the Beast Tribes many viewed as savage animals. Some of her most steadfast friends turned out to hail from the Garlean Empire.

Ishgardians slaughtered her kind when they only sought refuge, repaying mercy with execution. But Era holds no anger toward her husband's countrymen for it. Her most precious friends have been Ishgardians after all. ]

Try not to paint humans with such a broad brush in this world. I believe you will find many a comrade in them in the future, if only you keep an open mind.

[It's mostly because he found no evidence of magitech that he knows here in this world that isn't trying to eradicate entire cities.]

Though trust can last mere moments, prejudice is eternal.

[With the end of this song, Dhaos released his dance partner. He's satisfied with the information he collected on Genessia's residents today.]

Perhaps. Though even if it still lingers, prejudice can become less widespread and common. I have experienced this for myself.

[ She offers a polite bow once they've separated. ]

I wish you luck in your endeavors, Dhaos.

[ She may have a small inkling of what he's been doing, but she says it not because of that but because she truly means it. She wishes him luck with whatever it is he's doing. That he might find some manner of trust and comfort in the people of Genessia in time. ]
