GENESSIA PROM!

I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (~~LMFAO style~~).

VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

I Setup:
Koishi arrived with Rose. For once she wasn't dressed in a formal kimono. Rather, she was wearing the little black dress Namur helped her pick out last year. It was velvety and stretched from her knees to her neck. the sleeves were black rose-patterned lace extending across the upper torso all the way up to the collar. Her hair had been done up and she was wearing a pair of silver earrings. To top it off her hat had been given a black ribbon that fluttered softly as she walked held in place by a blue rose. Finally, the look was accented with a pair of dress boots with a slight wedge heel, giving her some much needed height.

It was, in Namur's words at the time of purchase, a 'hotass dress.'

Being early though meant she didn't have much to do and she was easily bored. She moved from one part of the setup to another, mostly unnoticed, but not entirely. She would stay out of the way but her presence could certainly be felt at times.

II Lobby:
Eventually exiled to the lobby once her obnoxious behavior became too severe. She would mingle with the crowds and quietly observe for the most part. Moving from person to person, saying hello and possibly bumping into those who couldn't see her.

III Photos:
Koishi will undoubtedly get her photo taken with her sister. However, this is Koishi and anyone who knows her is aware of her love of shenanigans. If anyone wants a certain little youkai to sneak into a photo then that's totally fine.

IV Eating/Drinking:
And this is where Koishi would be spending most of the night. After visiting the bar and getting carded (thrice) Koishi finally had an appropriately bubbly and tall drink consisting of several kinds of alcohol and topped with punch. Beverage in hand she made her way over to the food table and slowly began working her way down it. If she had her way she would taste as many different things as possible and perhaps make off with something she really liked.

Of course she was pretty slow in making her way down the table. Anyone stopping her to talk will be ensuring that some dish remains around longer so more people can enjoy it. Catch her near the end of the table and she might be a bit tipsy once she's gone through enough drinks.

V Dancing:
Koishi isn't really an active participant generally when it comes to dancing. Not when she could people-watch more. And people-watch she did. Finding a nice wall to lean against, Koishi watched everyone having fun and simply soaked in the energy of the event.

She does know how to dance though. If anyone invites her she might just be willing to join in.

VI Wildcard:
Something you wanna do not listed? Feel free! Just try not to excite her too much or the room might end up filled with magical bullets.

[Hi, Koishi. A fellow empath is here, affected by all of the warm feelings on the dance floor. When she seems Koishi, she skips over and offers a smile... Someone has left the witch unsupervised long enough for her to fall in love again.]

Hi there~. D-Do you [giggle] wanna dance?

[welp.]

Wha? Someone noticed her? Koishi turned, blinking as she was addressed, genuinely surprised. However, making eye contact with the youkai was more than a little unusual. She was... Blank. Empty. Even as she smiled and her eyes brightened no joy could be sensed from the unusual girl.

"Oh! Hello there miss! My name is Koishi Komeiji. And I'll dance with you!"

[Koishi's blank slate is like hitting a wall for Satou's empathy: It jolts her briefly, then leaves her dazed. Her romantic mood hasn't been shaken out of her yet, but she can feel something is off. Now it's a matter of her doing something about it.

For now! Dancing!]

Yay, thank you~! I don't know anything about the way people dance here, Ms Komeiji... eheh~n. Do youu?

"Mhmm!" She stopped forward, the feeling growing more intense with proximity. Her third eye drifted closer, bobbing and swaying merrily. "Mister fins taught me how to dance last year. I bet I can still dance now!"

She did a little hop, floating up to about eye level with Satou. The closer she got the less emotions she felt around her. Koishi reached out to take her hand and, upon first contact, the empath would find herself entirely psychically cut off. Any and all psychic presence was simply nullified by this strange emotionless girl.

[Now Satou 'sobers up' very quickly. She feels a strange, icy chill as her emotion-based magic is nullified and rendered useless. She's got one paralyzed leg that she supports with magic, with is rendered useless during the initial shock.

Clumsily, Satou takes a nose dive to the floor.]

SHIIiiii~~~ I-- um! Ouch.

Koishi yelped a little, zipping down and grabbing Satou quickly, preventing her from falling completely. "Oh no. Are you ok?"

She was pouting but, again, there was no empathy. No compassion. No malice though either. "You should be careful miss. You don't want to slip like that or you'll get hurt."

[To Satou, this is kind of spooky. She accepts being grabbed, of course, but the lack of emotion... It's so strange. She can see from the pendent that Koishi is a sentient resident of Genessia, but...]

Ahhhh you're tootally right! Wowzers, y-you have such fast reflexes! Thank you!

Even the weird not-people in Genessia had some semblance of emotion. It just wasn't genuine. This was... Different.

"You're welcome. Try not to slip again, okay? Koishi let her go, the mental presence of everyone around fading back in as she pulled her hand away. Though it sill appeared muffled. "You should relax. You're shaking."

I-I am?

[Yes, she is. This was so unnerving. Satou likes to think she's adaptable and tough, but this is shaking her most trusted sense.

She looks up at Koishi, confused.]

Relax, right... ah.... oh. A-Are you... Are you feeling okay?

Koishi seemed to pause, tilting her head the other way and blinking. She waited a long moment, staring, before breaking into an enormous smile once again.

There was no joy there... It was probably the most convincing fake smile she had ever seen.

Satou would feel something in her mind. A psychic tugging that created ripples of 'silence' around her. "That's a silly thing to ask at a party. To answer though I'm doing fine. But I suspect you already know how I feel, don't you?"

A small laugh. "I don't meet empaths often. I'm sorry if I startled you."

[CALLED OUT?

Satou freezes. At first, because she thinks she's in trouble. It's scary to not be able to read people. Satou wasn't aware of how heavily she depended on that until she met Koishi...

But when Koishi proves friendly, she relaxes. A bit.]

Y-You can tell? I-Iii'm so sorry! I don't mean to be a rude empath.

"Mhmm!" Koishi nodded enthusiastically. "My power is the manipulation of the subconscious mind. And I feel all the thoughts and feelings filtering through you. It makes reflecting them properly a little hard. But that's okay. It's interesting so it's fine."

A small laugh. "I'm sorry if I startled you though. I'm empty. Since my eye is broken. I have to feel things through other people. Sorry about that."

On a rare break, Rose still tries to pick Koishi up and spin her around. "I've only got one song," she laughed holding onto the youkai carefully under the tentacles. "You should be dancing!"

Koishi yelped as she was scooped up, her hat knocked askew. Her third eye swayed quickly several times before she looked back over her shoulder, her face absolutely lighting up. "Miss Roses!" She squirmed around in her arms, managing to return the hug.

"I don't dance very much because I'm really small and its awkward for people and also its something humans do a lot. But I can dance if you want to dance."

"Yeah! I do!" Rose spun her happily. "Is it really awkward for them?" a face scrunch "I never noticed," Tongue loll grin and she paused to snap her fingers, "Maybe they just need to find other ways to dance with you!"

"Hehe. yeah it's awkward." She was 4'2". "Because I don't fly while dancing. That defeats the purpose." She gave Rose a squeeze, her third eye squishing itself into her cheek.

"I would love to dance with you though! It seems like a lot of fun Miss Roses! I dunno if there's a different way you'll have to figure out though."

"Get some shorter friends," Rose laughed teassingly, squishing Koishi right back and spinning her around. "Yeah! There's tons o' different ways to dance. Here." She dropped her hands and began a more clubbing style, "Like this."

"Sis is short like me!" It was a start. "And her date Miss Bats is also really short."

And now Rose knew that Satori was here on a date.

But besides that Koishi was staring at Rose's dance, her head tilting one way, then the other. "Ohh... I've never seen that kind of dance before. How many different kinds of dancing are there?"

"Yeah?" a laugh and Rose shook her head, "Thousands, billions probably, since even aliens dance."

"Wooow! That's a lot!" She was excited again. "How many of them do you know, Miss Roses? I bet you know a whole bunch."

No doubt she was going to beg Rose to teach her.

"Yeah, I know a ton," Rose laughed and shook her head, "I don't even know how many! But here, a lot of 'em are for--"

There was a pause and a blink. Rose's emotions flickering slightly, before a much softer smile, "Fathers and daughters, so the height difference is just to be expected, yeah?"

Rose wasn't quite tall enough to be a father in this context, but did her best to show Koishi the steps.

Koishi seemed to pause as Rose's emotions shifted. She pursed her lips some and drifted closer. "Miss Roses you don't have to teach me any dances that make you gloomy, okay?"

There was no hiding your feelings from the Koiball.

A wry grin, and Rose reached two fingers forward to poke Koishi's cheeks. "I won't," she laughed softly, even if it was still a little forced. "Just weird, yeah? I spent my whole childhood without my father, but when he saved my life, remarried my Mum, gave me a little brother... I ran away again." Her eyes hardened slightly in spite of herself. "Anything to get back to the Doctor."
