GENESSIA PROM!

I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (~~LMFAO style~~).

VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

Prom is lame. What a lame idea. But then her roommate asked if she wanted to go, strictly ironically, of course. So here Faye is, wearing a gorgeous flowing red gown: there is plenty of cleavage on show, and a classy slit in the skirt that stretches all the way to her upper thigh - she wasn't voted sexiest woman for no reason.

Drinking

At the punch bowl, Faye looks rather disgruntled to hear that the thing is made of fruit juice, and that most of the drinks are alcohol free. She huffs a bit and rolls her eyes, "Surely a girl can find something decent to drink round here..."

Dancefloor. Ish.

This is exactly why Faye didn't want to come - lots of happy people dancing, lots of couples too, being romantic and just...eww. With all these youngsters around, it's all that sick kind of puppy love too. So Faye lingers on the outskirts of the dancefloor, a lady all alone with no one to dance with.

Misc

Faye is drifting around the prom, and probably looking for somewhere to have a cigarette, so she might appear a little lost. Feel free to bother her anyhow, anywhere.

[Ted spies with his pure-as-the-driven-snow eyes one Ms. Valentine! Ironical name, given her sour disposition on all things romantic. Didn't she vote him in as Most Annoying? Well, he'll either improve her night or prove her right. Something smiley this way comes.]

Hello, Ms. Faye! Interesting dress you've got. Your leg is all right, then?

*Well, at least Faye isn't lost on the irony of her surname. She blinks, surprised at being addressed, but smirks softly at his comments*

Thank you. And absolutely.

*Then she holds out her leg in such a way that he can admire how very pristine and scar-free it is*

Who knew how good a bunch of healers could be?

[Ooh, that's a little racy for him. But he'll try to play it cool and power through.]

Aheh, themselves, presumably. And myself. Well, would you like to try it out over there?

[He motions to the dance floor.]

*Careful, Teddy boy; show you're flustered too much and she'll just keep teasing*

Just goes to show you magic isn't a complete load of horse crap.

*She looks out at the dancefloor and back to Ted, a fine eyebrow raised*

You wanna dance? With me? Well, why not?

[He offers his hand to do just that, leading her out to the ballroom where a low-tempo, slow dance is just about finished. He'll take the traditional waltz stance, one hand matching hers up high while another supports her shoulder. Just to get a feel with how comfortable she is with partner dances.]

*Dancing isn't something that Faye has had much cause or opportunity to do, especially not like this. She knows what she is doing though, matching her stance up with his as the next dance begins. Meanwhile she glances over his shoulders*

You not got q cute date with you waiting for a dance?

["Cute"? Well, Satsuki has her moments, but cute ones are a rarity.]

Haha, well, there's plenty of partners around, though none, perhaps, so versed in the art as I. She's likely had all she can stand. Let's see how you fare, eh? How about a...dip!

[Bold first move for a dance, but if nothing else this will test just how experienced she is. They box step for a few seconds, then he motions to place her hand near his neck while he loosens his grip on her torso. How low can she go?]

Oh, so you've tired the poor girl out, hmm?

*Faye gives him quite the luscious smile - this boy is more fun than she had expected*

A dip, hmm?

*Faye holds herself a little closer to Ted as they dance, then allows herself to be dipped back. The open cleavage and split side of her dress mean she really is putting on quite an eyeful of a show. She can go really quite, tossing her head back and extending her leg stylishly as she clings to him*

[One of those 'happy in love' couples, or at least part of one finally breaks away from one of her partners to head off to the side of the dance floor for a little bit of a break. Rip had the stamina and endurance, but... she really wasn't used to dancing in heals which added an additional inch or so to her already 6'2 height.

Regardless, she's smiling and a bit flushed across her freckled cheeks when she stopped to lean against the wall near Faye without realizing there was someone there at first. Once she did, she gave the other woman a grin, only flashing a small bit of fang this time.]

Evening! I never thought I vould enjoy dancing az much as zhis.. haf you been out zhere yet? It's a blast.

*Faye had ignored the woman when she first stood beside her, only registering how tall she was. Faye turned her head slightly towards the other woman, not exactly returning the grin as she glanced at her nails*

No. I haven't.

*She's not so much being rude as showing her disdain towards the whole dancing thing*

[The disdain wasn’t lost on her. Rip just wasn’t faze. There wasn't much that could knock her out of her good mood, not even someone with a sour one.]

Vell, you should partner or not. Tonight iz aboult hafing fun und enjoying yourself. If you aren't going to do zhat, zhen vhy show up?

*Faye frowned at the woman and drew up tall - she might be alone right then but she had a person who asked her here...somewhere. Not quite a partner, but nevermind*

Enjoying myself usually involves a lot more alcohol than this... And maybe I thought I'd enjoy this whole thing more than I am - I didn't know it was going to be so lame, did I?

[Did she offend? How cute~. Rip decided to stand her full height, heels included making her tower over her current companion with an amused smile on her lips.]

It's a prom. I may haf never been to one before, but, I do know vat zhey are. Besides, I don't see anyone stopping you from sneaking in your own alcohol.

And vat I meant vas, you can dance vithout someone being vith you, at least for zhe faster pace songs.

*Faye just looks up at the woman and raises a brow - this lady is kind of creepy*

Sure I could have...but there aren't many places to hide it in this dress.

*Which she has surely noticed is really rather revealing*

And no. I don't want to dance. At all.

[Did she come off as creepy? Rip hardly noticed and her encouraging bad behavior could be seen as somewhat normal for her.]

If you try hard enough, you can hide anyvhere.

[Her own dress wasn't any better with an off the shoulder blue gown number and a slit up the sides that nearly went to her hip.

She might also be speaking from experience on hiding in plain sight. ]

Besides, it's your choice on vhether or not you haf fun. Me, I'm definitely hafing fun vith my men und enjoying every second of zhis prom.

*This woman is just weird to Faye. Men, did she just say? Oh great, so this lady is creepy and yet she is still getting way more action than Faye is from the sounds of things... Faye simply gives her a smirk, not letting her thoughts show*

[Rip just had a certain appeal and a quirky personality.At least she hasn't mentioned who she's dating yet?]

It iz~. I hafn't had zhis much fun dancing in quite some time.

*Faye glanced away from the woman and looked around the dance floor - people did seem to be having fun*

Okay. That's great. Think it's time to go find a drink...

[Rapunzel figured she should go around and give compliments to pretty much everyone when she could. After all, most of the dresses that had been picked out were, in fact, beautiful, she couldn't help but admire them all.]

You also look a little lost, where is it that you are heading?

*Even Faye can't resist a smile in response to that compliment*

Huh? I'm looking for a place to go smoke.

*But...this young woman doesn't seem to be the type who would know much about that*

Smoke... Okay, I must admit I don't know much, but I assume best place would be just outside. There are a lot of really beautiful places outside.

So you might as well smoke while looking at something nice.

[The whole time spoken with a smile.]

I think I can show you as well.

[Lo and behold, there appears her "prom date" again beside her, dressed pretty snazzy himself to go with her... but he's probably enjoying the place about as much as she is. He produces a glass and offers it to her, its contents looking like it was juice in the glass... but being Gale, it was anything but.]

There isn't a drop of anything interesting around in this place. Just between you and me, good thing I came prepared.

[He most certainly had a flask hidden in his jacket, just for emergency situations like this. But he's not a "punch spiking" kind of guy, so he'd only made a couple of mixes in the individual glasses he was carrying. He's a trouble maker, sure, but spiking the punch is too generic for him.]

While I sure as hell don't regret that dress choice of yours, [Because damn is she fine] you got that feelin' that this is a huge waste of time like I do?

[There's no booze and there are way too many kids for his wandering eye's liking. God, were he and Faye the only legal ones here? Sure felt like it.]

Tell me about it.

*Not that Faye wasn't secretly very pleased to be asked, but turns out this prom this is kinda sad. She takes the glass from him and raises a brow before sniffing at the glass and taking a long drink. She instantly seems more relieved*

My dress is wasted here, that's for sure. Who knew there was so many kids around?

*She takes another long drink as she casts a glance across the room*

We can bail whenever you want.
