I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

II.

[ It is quite obvious that Lunafreya is part of the 'all ages welcome' crowd to the prom. The experience is... new, to say the least. The Oracle of Eos has been to many political dinners, parties, and events. She has gone from place to place on her star, healing and learning of the people. However, she has never, not once, been to prom. It is a formal dress event, but without the politics or the dangers of world peace on the table. It is almost... quaint. In a way.

She stands in the lobby, dressed in blue and white with a possibly unfamiliar crest on her dress. Her hair is done up in its normal fashion, but for once, she seems to look far more like the princess she once was. ]

VII.

[ Lunafreya is out and about at the event. Your pick of what they do! ]

[ Era has seen a vast array of different dress styles and colours, but none stood out to her quite as much as the one a young blonde woman was wearing. It's white and shades of blues. The colours Era was to use for her wedding. But beyond that it holds no resemblance to her wedding dress.

Realizing that perhaps she has been staring a bit longer than is polite, Era chooses to greet the woman in an effort to cover any social faux pas she may have made. It doesn't take long for Era to be within a polite distance of the stranger, and soon enough she's offering a small bow in greeting. ]

Hello. I love the colours of your dress, miss.

[ Lunafreya could perhaps explain the significant of whites and blues in her dress. Sylleblossoms, the flower of the royal family of Tenebrae. Blue, their colors as it came from their flower. She had no thing to share of weddings or celebrations in that manner. It is a time that she's never been able to live. If not for the events that befell her during the fight with Leviathan? Then her flesh would have given out far before then.

Her gaze moves over to look at the woman that has addressed her. She smiles politely then, giving a formal bow. ]

Thank you. I... had a hard time deciding which to wear to such an occasion.

Yes, I had some trouble deciding as well. [ She smiles, friendly and sincere. ] Had I not found the fabric for this dress I'm not sure what I would have done.

[ Likely worn her wedding dress, despite her desire to save it for her wedding. Or she could have used her Spring Dress, possibly. None of the other day dresses would have worked well for a prom, but that one might have.

Era can't say she regrets making this new blue dress though - when next she sees her Aymeric she can surprise him with it. ]

I believe you made a good decision. You look very nice.

[ A friendly smile spreads on Lunafreya's face as she nods. Her own troubles with the dress were not due to fabrics or design. It is the whole occasion that has taken her off guard. After all, her education was held in private as her whole life was more or less that of a political prisoner. The concept of prom was so vastly different from any other formal occasion she had been to. ]

And yours suits you equally as well. It compliments you... and not just your figure. The spirit that you radiate can be seen through it as well.

[ Not that it is difficult to see how the other woman radiates a light that she is familiar with. ]

[ Era has actually never been to a formal even before, but she's been to enough casual parties and events by now (okay - more like a handful, maybe) that she's fairly comfortable with it all. It's fun to dress up in pretty outfits she would never dare wear on the battlefield, eat as much food as she wants, and meet all sorts of new, interesting people.

She's never received a compliment like this before, however. Era isn't sure how to respond to it. Her cheeks flush a faint pink that would be easily overlooked if not for how it contrasts against the ivory scales on her face. ]

...My thanks.

[ She offers a small bow in addition to her thanks. Because what even does she do in this situation? A stranger complimenting her on something other than her battle prowess? ]

( she won't be alone for long, as a black-suited young man sidles up next to her, looking rather proud. this is his beautiful date, after all. he might just think he's one of, if not the, luckiest guys here.

his suit is pin-striped, jacket buttoned but revealing the black dress shirt underneath. his black tie tops it off, being the formal colour of lucis. his dark colour scheme complimented the white and blue of luna's dress, his thoughts being that it made her look like she was aglow.

not that she needed the fancy dress to do that, anyway. )

For you— ( he reveals what had momentarily taken him away, offering her a lovely blue carnation, made into a corsage. )

[ The smile that spreads on her face at the sight of him is always unique to only him. There is always a special glow that seems to appear on her face when Noctis is there. The same thing that also makes her a tad shy and a blush creep on her face. How he manages to make her feel like such an adolescence again is well beyond her.

Especially when he gifts her with flowers.

Lunafreya holds her arm up, blushing furiously at the gesture. Once on her wrist, she reaches up and gently shifts the tie on his shirt just a tad. ]

To think I missed the Crown Prince of Lucis dressed for a formal occasion... your peers were very lucky.

Lucky? I'm not sure we're talking about the right one of us. ( was he even worthy to have such a lovely looking lady on his arm? it didn't matter— he was going to relish in it, anyway.

as she leans in to fix his tie, he doesn't miss the opportunity to gently embrace her at the elbow... at least with one arm. the other comes from somewhere behind him again, with another flower. ) This ones uh, for me. I couldn't get it pinned right though... ( and the softness in his eyes say it for him 'help?' )

[He's been working, and he's had some awkward discussions, but he should at least pay respects to people he knows. He's polite, after all. He's dressed in a suit, since he's working a formal event and he needs to blend in.

He smiles at Lunafreya and holds up his camera.]

Want me to take your picture?

[Yes or no, he'll probably ask her to dance, to be polite.]

[ It is unusual to see Noctis in formal wear, and even more so Prompto. Still, he gets a smile and a formal bow. The Crownsguard may insist that they need no respects paid due to their positions to the Crown Prince, but, the Oracle will always insist upon it. ]

Are you making a collection of pictures from the event?

[ She's merely curious. Regardless, she nods to his request. ]

[He smiled and nods slightly before snapping the photograph.]

[Prompto lowered the camera and leaned against the wall.]

My job is to take photographs candidly, so yeah. And then my boss will sell them to people.

[ She shifts slightly after the camera snap. Being hounded by the press is one thing. Having a friend that is a photographer that knows her better than the faceless media... it still makes her slightly embarrassed. ]

In magazines and newspapers, I presume?

You know, I don't know? Probably.

[He smiles warmly.]

Thanks! That one was probably just for me, he doesn't like staged photographs. But yeah, or people who want souvenirs of the event, that too.
