GENESSIA PROM!
For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:
1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open
III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.
Smile, everyone!
IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!
Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?
V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!
In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (
VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.
Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.
VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

[He puts his hands behind his back again, but does make proper eye contact now. She seems to have gotten the point about not touching him. It doesn't surprise him that she doesn't take that as a cue to leave: Junko is either brave, kind, or way too curious for her own good.]
Do you want something actually important, or are you really just here to see me have fun?
no subject
[Well. They are as far as Junko is concerned which means he's not going to shake her off any time soon. If he needs a little persuading to that, well, she'll just have to persist until he gives in and accepts the inevitability.
And worst case scenario, he snaps and she just gets a different kind of entertainment.]
Besides, who discusses important stuff at a party like this? I get that you're basically allergic to fun, apparently, but if you're here then you obviously at least want to try.
[Otherwise why bother?]
no subject
[He's actually just here to pretend that he cares. If he plants some roots in the Genessia community, they'll be less likely to burn him at the stake when he starts pushing buttons... but Junko is correct in that he needs to seem like he wants to try.
Uai averts his gaze from hers, to hide his lie. Then, looks back with a more pleasant expression.]
I'll go back to the food, or something. I wandered here without thinking. [He wiggles the fingers on one hand, silently explaining that "he wanted to dance, but forgot he can't touch people." 50% of that is a lie.]
no subject
[She thinks she can see what he's playing for but she's going to treat his words as though there's no lie there at all. If he wants to play the poor soul that feels left out of the reindeer games - or prom dance, whatever - then she'll indulge him but that also means she's less inclined towards letting him just wander away.
If only to see just how committed to the guise of wanting to join in he really is.]
no subject
But he is committed to his lie.]
Too much room for risk. By which I mean, not much room on the dance floor. I'd rather just watch than accidentally ruin someone's evening. [Lie maintained, with business points for seeming considerate. He considers this a win.]
no subject
Wow. That almost convinced me. Don't feel too bad about it, though; I'm sure the rest of these morons would buy that excuse.
[Maybe not all of them. But it's harder to slip something past someone whose true ultimate talent is analysis.]
But fine then. If you won't dance with me, the food tables it is. If we're really lucky, someone'll have livened up the punch already.
no subject
[He relents when she suggests a change of scenery. Just for Junko, he won't be a stick in the mud who mentions that he doesn't technically need food. Eating for pleasure seems excusable with this pushy person.
Uai does, however, smirk at her comment about the punch.]
Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, it's impossible for me to get drunk. I've 'biologically' doomed to gather blackmail material on any drinking buddies. [Such a curse...! He bears the burden so well.] Are you hanging around to be annoying, or do you want some information out of me?
no subject
[She wouldn't take this much interest in just anyone. Even if it's more for what he can do than who he is, it's still a step above what most people get from her.
At the rest, she simply offers a sly grin. And files that knowledge away for future reference, mostly because if that's true then he's likely resistant to other drugs as well and that's usually something worth knowing about people, for her.]
Well obviously I'm not going to touch it if it's spiked. Won't stop other people though and that's when it gets entertaining. Which I'm sure you appreciate all too well. As for why I'm here, it's like I said. We're friends, aren't we, and friends spend time together.
[The fact that he still owes her may have something to do with that but that's something she's keeping in reserve until she has a proper use for it.]
no subject
Only a bit.]
Friends it is, then. [She's more useful as a friend than an enemy anyway.] Did you get a lot of dancing in? There are a lot more people here than I'd expected.
no subject
[He's probably no safer as her friend than as her enemy - quite the opposite, more likely - but she can at least deliver the regular doses of misery he needs if that's truly what he wants.
She glances back at the dancefloor as he asks the question, shrugging lightly as her attention turns back to the buffet area.]
Some. I guess it won't get really interesting until later on. Everyone's still on their best behaviour right now.
[Which is just way too dull for her liking. Another reason to want someone to liven up the punch, really. Not that she hasn't done a little stirring of her own.]
Though I guess there are some pretty insecure people up there. You'd think these people think that just because someone's their date, they're entitled to one hundred percent of their attention.
[And so what if Junko had fuelled the fire with a few flirtatious looks. It's not like she'd forced anyone to respond to them.]
no subject
[Junko has triggered talk of love, which is Uai's most annoying trap card. His girlfriend is the center of all of his angst and happiness, okay?]
The best part of taking Hana on dates was sharing her attention and watching how brilliant she is... and the added bonus of her being a bit attention starved when we were alone again~.
[ew.
He is purposefully being a bit cruel to Junko in this instance.] Wonder why they're so straight-laced? It's not like anyone's parents are going to ground them for misbehaving. There's nothing here to punish them, except themselves.
no subject
[Cruel? If he's being so, Junko doesn't really notice. It takes a lot to truly class as too much information for her and if anything she'd sooner hear that than the romantic glurge that came before.]
Well, maybe they really are that boring or scared that the chaperones might actually give a shit. Or maybe they just need someone to kick things off.
[Not everyone can be an instigator, but a lot of people can sure follow somenee else's lead.]
no subject
[Even if the first part was true. Seeing the way Hana treated others made him proud and happy.]
Unfortunately, I can't go causing a ruckus after what I did in Fayren. Despite hating this place, I don't want to ruin any alliances over prom. [He gives a light shrug.] The most troublesome thing I can offer is hogging a spot in front of the punch bowl.
no subject
[Her tone is more amused than anything, that the one thing stopping him is that it's just too soon. Something to remember for future events, perhaps.]
Besides. That's a little too straightforward. The better way to cause trouble is to make sure someone else is the one to take the fall. Plausible deniability's a hell of a thing.
[Especially for someone who thrives on technical truths like Junko does.]
no subject
You're one of those people who starts her arguments with 'technically,' aren't you? [He's teasing.]
So that's why you were hoping someone would mess with the punch. I'll need to be careful around you.
no subject
All I'm saying is, truth is a broader term than most people are willing to see. It's why I make it a policy of mine to avoid lying wherever I can.
[And she tends to call out her own lies pretty quickly. She has no use for them, when the truth can cause far more harm.]
no subject
You're an interesting young woman, Junko. Most people I know lie until they're suffocating in their own false realities. I guess I won't see you falling apart in such circumstances.
no subject
[Her talent makes it far too difficult to turn away from reality - even deliberately erasing her own memories did little to stop her from returning to who she truly is. All that being the case, she's taken the decision to enjoy the truth - and shape it in a direction of her choosing, of course.]
Still. There's nothing quite like watching someone bury themselves in denial because they think it'll shield them from the awful truth. They're a headache to actually deal with but at least they still serve a purpose.
[Her own amusement counts, right?]
no subject
[He has to room to judge. Uai isn't above hurting people anymore. He may not like it, but he recognizes that it's necessary to get where he wants to be.
So he doesn't mention that he doesn't actually approve entirely of what she's saying. He himself is someone denying his fate and form with this happy human illusion. The thought of that leads him to subconsciously play with his long braid, and the lavendar ribbon Hana tied it off with.]
You might be bored here, then. It seems like those chaperones are competent when guarding the punch bowl.
no subject
[It's another turn of predictability, something else almost inevitable that would be dull to Junko if not for the potential fall-out. Little wonder, then, that she takes joy in the terrible.
At least, that would be her excuse. Either way, she's neither confirming nor denying the cruel comment and she doesn't seem too cut up about it.]
no subject
[Not that he entirely cares. Junko seems like she can take care of herself.]
If things don't get interesting soon, maybe I'll just go for a walk. I think I've fulfilled my social obligations for a month by now.
no subject
[Not like she wouldn't find a way even if she wasn't. She's still mulling over how she can get into the chaperones' area without being a chaperone.]
Well, as long as you don't hide away for too long. Who knows what you'd miss out on.
no subject
[With that, he steps away and throws up a wave.]
But if I come across something more interesting, I'll apply the same courtesy to you.
