I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

i. setup OR lobby
[ he showed up looking like some sort of eleven royal. hair done and choosing to be comfortable and pretty. he doesn't remember attending balls but he's quite sure he got enough of an idea of how little he was enjoying them out of zelda. stiff attire and watching for any threat. constantly. he's still armed, of course. there's a sword in his back but hey it matches his dress this time. forget protocol. he's doing what he wants.

he'll help set up the food and the lighting silently, not getting in anyone's way. though those lights or decorations that need to be strung up high have him throwing a hand up to graciously volunteer. by literally scaling the walls. this looks really dangerous but it's fine. he got it.

when guests start arriving, he can still be found up there - dangling from the ceiling and carefully fixing one of those decorative orbs on the wire that came loose. perfection must be achieved. ]

ii. eating & drinking.

[ link had volunteered himself to take care of the culinary needs of the prom itself. though with the duties of running it passing between people, he hadn't really had it in him to overrule anyone that got recruited in to help with that, never exactly the type to speak up. still. half of that table might still be his own work, especially things that might count as actual dinner. like meat skewers or seafood or unique greens to throw on your plate. a nice heart soup that for some reason feels completely revitalizing and got rid of that bruise you had? suddenly, you feel like you could take like six punches to the face and live.

link can be found there the most, either stuffing his face or on the serving end of the table. he doesn't say a word but his gesturing make it clear the veggies come highly recommended if you look tired to him. he'll look enthusiastic if any compliment is paid towards anything he added there. ]

iii. dance floor and mingling.

[ this one is clearly shy. a little... over anxious by the amount of people here. ducking his head at anyone that spares him too long a look and standing like he's at attendance if anyone isn't talking to him. still, there's a bunch of energy there he's too nervous to throw himself in with. he can be found bouncing on his feet or rocking back and forth to any music playing off to the side. humming loudly along if a tune ever repeats enough for him to catch what it is. smiling excitedly at the variety of outfits passing by.

just trying to find a way to butt in there and then backing up nervously. okay. now? no... ]

option iii is a siren's call....

( did somebody order two high-femme boys interacting because that's definitely the impending Mood as ren approaches this quietly excited little wallflower. he (at least, ren thinks it's a he? it's probably best not to make any assumptions though, especially not coming from him) has that belly-dancer aesthetic down pat, which makes ren wonder why he wouldn't be out on the floor already doing exactly that, but he's happy to hold out a hand. ) If you're trying to find a way in, I could make a path for you. ( infiltration is his specialty. instead of evacuate the dance floor, it's operation infiltrate the dance floor. actually, upon closer inspection, ren realizes the other looks vaguely familiar. ) Hey... ( it takes him a second to place it, a squint and a touch to this chin. but then, he smiles and flips his skirt to the side so he can lean down a little closer - easier to hear him over the music ) you were behind the food bar earlier, right?

[ there were heels at some point that got quietly ditched under the buffet tables in favor of sticking true to the aesthetic he has going. also they sucked. he tried it and it didn't take for more than 20 minutes.

what an alluring figure in all black to make an approach! it's like sparkling raven came over, complete with ruffled top feathers as hair. he could make a path and sneak him in there, probably without too much attention being drawn. though this person has definitely got to be drawing the attention, right? or maybe they have shadow powers and nobody would notice. sure.

link rarely hesitates, he was taking the hand because his nature is more #fuckit than anything else. the knight of getting shit done. a wide beaming smile gets flashed then settles into a careful neutral look. a mask lacking most emotion. the default for when he knows people are looking.

though it just crumbles like he forgot to hold it and might not have been aware he had it on at all and nods with another smile, he points in its direction then at himself while nodding. oh, yup! that was him. ]

[redreigning]

( ren doesn't miss much, which means he is absolutely going to notice a) the lack of a verbal answer and b) the quick shift from a genuine expression to a more neutral one. he's usually the one displaying both these traits - #fuckit is a philosophy he happens to admire, too - so it's a little surreal to see it reflected in someone else, with him on the opposite side. but he knows a demeanor like that well enough to figure he'd rather not be called out on it, so ren will give him the courtesy of simply smiling back and taking the hand that didn't quite reach him on its own. ) I thought so. I didn't get to try where you were stationed at - it looked like a lot of people to elbow through. ( he's so excited about the food table?? it's cute. ren glances at it for a moment and then brings his attention back, using his grip to slide them backwards to the dancefloor like he'd offered. there's an encouraging little smile as he grabs the other hand and starts moving them both along a steady rhythm, attempting to get this belly dancer to move more boldly with the music. ) I like your ears. I saw those headphones on the train all the time back home. ( HE THINKS THEY'RE-- )

[ link's nodding along. yeah, it got pretty busy over there. he can totally understand why. everyone else added some good desserts on to that table and dancing can make people hungry. and walking. and breathing. listen, is everyone else as hungry as him 99% of the time?

both hands taken and there's just a lot of smiling happening. this is all new and exciting, really. he's thrilled. he doubts he ever got to dance with somebody before. his feet move out of some sort of muscle memory, which is wrong for the song choice so he ends up doing a second of a waltz then looking down at his feet and self-correcting by copying whatever ren is doing down there. or trying. ]

Hm? [ his head shoots back up with a rapid fire of wide-eyed quick blinking at him. a hand slips back from ren and uses it to push the tip of one ear back and forth with a finger. no, these aren't phones for trains. see? they're attached to his head. ]

( ren had lifted his skirt so the other could get a better view of what he seemed to be copying, but now he pauses, attention taken by the very real and very attached ears that he's shown. ) Ah-- ( how very...anime ) They're real? ( there is a strong urge to touch but he refrains, laughing a little as he tucks his hair back to show his own boring little round ears. ) My bad, we don't really have pointy ears where I'm from - but a lot of people would like to. I bet you'd be popular, and make a killing at cosplay. ( don't talk to the hylian about cosplay, he's barely aware of phones on trains. that's okay though, because a new and far more interesting topic crops up when ren spins him around and is suddenly presented with a fully sheathed sword strapped across his back. maybe he knows more about cosplay than we thought. ) Uh... ( a slightly sheepish smile. ) is that your...serving sword?

[ link can really appreciate getting a better view of their feet. he realized he was way off the mark thanks to that and very close to being a toe-stepper. ]

Mmhmm. [ super real. authentic ear right there. he has noticed there's a significant lack of hylian genes around these parts. he doesn't think it's boring to have the little round ones. gorons don't even have ears.

cosplaying is... -cos...playing? cos like costume? oh. like dressing up. he got that one. he just goes back to smiling about it because that's a little funny. once he's done spinning around he turns his head as if to look over his shoulder. oh, yeah.

that's not scary, right? link rarely does reply things but when he does speak it's pretty damn quiet that someone could easily miss it if they weren't listening hard enough. ] For skewering meat. [ get it? he shakes his head and reaches an arm behind him to pat it a tiny bit. just used to carrying it around, honestly. ]

( !! ) He speaks. ( said through a lightly teasing laugh. and of all the things to come out - it's a joke. at least, ren thinks it's a joke? if it's not, then that's either overkill or this little dude's looks belie his appetite. honestly, ren can appreciate all of these options. ) I see. ( ren turns him back around, both hands in his grip as he smiles down at him. ) What a fancy skewer, definitely a cut above the rest. ( here he goes. ) What's your name?

[ ah. yup. he talks. the smallest of nods then he looking off sheepishly, only to look back at him with one of the goofiest grins he can form on his face. that was most definitely a joke.

one he's far too thrilled to have done back at him. cut above the rest. ha ha. people of hyrule don't always get his sense of humor. he gets taken far too seriously, so he's used to blurting something out and trying to get as much entertainment as possible off the shock value. there's only so many ways to keep yourself entertained when you have to save the entire damn land.

he has eaten off a sword but it's not recommended, as a side note. ]

( oh, he really liked that didn't he? ren isn't overly expressive, but that smile is pretty infectious and he might not realize how delighted his own becomes in response to it. ) Good to know. I'd hate to misteak you for someone with lesser meat puns. ( wow. they're just gonna do this. ren lets go of one of link's hands so he can grab his skirt, holding it out as he dips his head a little. ) Ren Amamiya. ( peeks up with one eye ) Is this conversations making you as hungry as me, Link-san?

[ he can smile with reckless abandon if he's not focused on trying to remain as inoffensive as possible. maybe he wasn't so free about it before but forgetting things does wonders for putting your mind at ease, honestly. he's actually giggling at the continued use of meat puns. ]

Very cleaver. [ yes. they're doing this. the curtsy has him automatically bowing at him in an incredibly professional manner back. it's autopilot for a second before he goes right into nodding quick enough to make himself slightly dizzy. hungry? always! ]

( his smile is pure and he looks pretty and ren is weak to this awful shitty humor. ) Well done. ( stop ) It's rare ( enough ) to meat ( n o m o r e ) someone so versed in the pun-arts. ( link might also have him beat in manners because he goes full on knee-to-the-floor and ren kind of frets over it a little by putting his hand out to help him up, slightly confused but relieved smile when link does it himself and then nods so fast his colors blur. ) Will you show me what you made?
