GENESSIA PROM!
For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:
1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open
III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.
Smile, everyone!
IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!
Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?
V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!
In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (
VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.
Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.
VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

[Never mind that getting dressed up like this is more effort than Ann tends to be willing to spare for anything beyond a special occasion or work. For day to day wear, she prefers to keep a little more casual - but then she supposes that's what makes it so nice to get dressed up, that it isn't her usual style.
Same reason she has her hair down, really. Something different, but without being too fussy.
When it comes to dancing, Ann's not used to doing any sort of leading and a little of it shows in how she hesitates as Era waits. Formal dancing isn't something she'd ever really done but if she notices Era relaxing into something more informal then she'll be quick to follow suit. Easier to talk that way, too, when she's not trying to concentrate on what her feet are doing.]
I'm honestly not sure. This is the first one I've been here for but I haven't been here all that long, at least compared to most of my friends. I'm guessing it isn't something that's super common, though.
[If only because of how involved she'd been in helping people find clothes for the event where she might have expected them to be more prepared if this happened more often. Although...]
Then again, maybe they do happen more often and my friends just didn't go. We've never really talked about it either way so I'm not sure.

The song that plays is not too fast-paced, but nothing slow enough for a more formal dance. It has a medium tempo and a good beat; easy for Era to flow with, though it does make it hard for her to keep her tail from swaying too wide with each pulse of rhythm. ]
How long have you been here? This event was announced a few days after my own arrival.
no subject
[At least if she excludes festivals back home, which tend to be formal in an entirely different way. And even now, Ann is starting to feel the impact of wearing high heels for longer than the run of a modelling shoot - but she's not giving in just yet. She can worry about sore feet once she's done having fun.
Still, it shows a little in how Ann isn't moving her feet much as she dances, though she's otherwise falling into the rhythm of the current song well enough. Given the glimpses of tail she catches sight of but holds her tongue in commenting on, she figures that's probably for the best.]
I think we must have got here around about the same time, then. Honestly it was short notice enough that I'm not sure I'd be here if my friends weren't coming too.
[While Ann's not exactly shy, she's not sure this is the sort of event she'd want to come to without knowing anyone.]

[ Heels are surprisingly a common staple in Era's day-to-day life even in Eorzea while adventuring. Most of her shoes have them even if they're made specifically for combat, and though it took a bit to adjust her feet to it the extra inch or two occasionally made for a huge difference.
If her feet ever end up hurting from wearing heels it's nothing a simple regenerating healing spell can't take care of. With this in mind Era thinks to offer this solution to the younger woman. ]
If your feet ache I can cast a quick healing spell on you for some respite.
[ She's been here since mid-afternoon, having helped to set up the stage a few hours before the event began. Since then she hasn't sat down, yet neither has she felt the need to. Era expects her feet will be complaining about their treatment come morning, however. ]
I'm glad you aren't here alone, Miss Ann. [ It's clear Era speaks of Genessia as a whole and not the prom. ] I found a month to be adequate enough time to make a dress and practice some new songs, though I am accustomed to working with limited time.
no subject
[Whether she will is another matter but the option is available to her. And if she doesn't think about it, she figures, she can ignore whatever aches are there until she does get to sit down.
Though the offer of a healing spell does make her wish she still had hers available to her. The price to pay for going all-in on fire, she supposes. Because of that, she doesn't seem so much surprised at that being an option as surprised she's never considered it before.]
Though I can honestly say I've never thought about using a healing spell for that before. Not that it would help me much anymore though.
[Not unless Ren still has his, which is entirely possible at least.
Her head tilts curiously at the comment about her not being here alone. The talk of prom is put on hold just a little as sympathy comes to the fore.]
What about you, then? Do you know anyone here? I mean, that you knew before here.
no subject
Why would it not help you anymore?
[ She's never heard of healing spells not helping someone anymore, unless they're already deceased.
Era hadn't meant for that question to be turned on her. It takes her momentarily aback, and while her smile doesn't falter it... dims, momentarily, with both heart- and home-sickness. She's quick to brighten again, shoving the unwanted sadness aside to be dealt with later. ]
No, I've yet to encounter someone familiar. Though I've heard some dear friends were here many months ago and have since left. [ Her smile widens somewhat as she stokes the embers of her hope back into prominence. ] And Aymeric and Estinien should be here soon enough.
[ Aymeric arrived in their previous world a month or so after she did, and then Estinien showed up a fair number of months later in the new year. There's precedent for her Elezen boys to follow her. Hope that isn't rooted in nothing. ]

[For all she knows, Personas might not be able to heal mundane injuries. It's not like she's ever really tried. And that's assuming this place works like the Metaverse did, which she's not sure she's willing to assume.
She can't help but feel a little guilty as she notices that moment where Era's smile falters, brief though it may be. She knows what it is to force a smile when it's the last thing she feels like doing and while she doesn't want to pry, she's not sure she can quite ignore it either.]
I'm sorry. I can't imagine what it would feel like to be torn away from everyone like that.
[Save that she knows she would hate to go back to being all alone, after finally finding people she belongs with as dear friends.
Though the rest of what Era says draws more curiosity than anything, and she can't help but ask.]
You think so? Does that mean you know something about how they bring people here?
no subject
The apology is appreciated, but unwanted. Era doesn't want anyone to feel sorry for her. It is what it is. She is alone, but she will persevere. It isn't the first time, nor will it be the last, that Era has faced trials on her own. ]
It is not the first time it has happened to me. [ She alters the tempo of her dance to match the changing music. ] I don't know the 'how' or the 'why'. Just that a world has kidnapped me before, and my dear husband followed me shortly thereafter. A few moons after that our best friend arrived as well, so I would expect the same to hold true here.
I am patient, and hopeful. [ A shrug and a bemused smile. ] Though many would rather call me naïve.
no subject
[It's a lot for Ann to wrap her head around. She knows certain of her friends would definitely call that hope naive but Ann doesn't have it in her to say it. Who's to say it's not going to happen like that this time, too.]
Well, hopefully they won't make you wait too long. I'm not sure how it all works, exactly, but I guess once whoever's in charge gets hold of someone from a particular world it makes it easy to bring more?
[It would explain why so many of her friends have come and gone, from what she's been told.]
no subject
Aymeric will likely arrive first, as Estinien has a tendency for arriving 'fashionably late'. Regardless of if they take days, weeks, or months... As long as I am here, I will be eagerly awaiting them.
[ She does let out the smallest of laughs here. ] Though I won't be actively waiting for them - they've taken too long for me to bother with that now.
no subject
[She knows that can't be easy. She'd know that even if she didn't know that Futaba had been forced to do more or less the same thing. But she appreciates how positive Era is being about it, at least for the time being.]
Besides. It'll probably help them more if you're already settled, right?
no subject
[ That's one way to improve your crafting skills, right? She's great at botany, and is pretty good at making furniture... A house shouldn't be too difficult... ]
What did your friends do that you found most helpful?
no subject
[Ann's never known someone who could build a house from scratch before. It's why she chooses not to mention that there are plenty of perfectly functional places to live in all of the cities - it's not her place to say where someone should or shouldn't live.]
Honestly, just them being here helped a lot. Not that there weren't other people willing to help but it makes hearing some of the weirder stuff easier if it's coming from someone you know.
[She goes with know over trust because a lot of her information came from Akechi and she's still wrapping her head around how to deal with him with all she knows now.]
no subject
[ It would be a shame for all the housing parts her retainers brought her (somehow - she hasn't dared ask where they came from) to go to waste, and with no marketboard the only other thing to do is use them. The frame will be the most difficult part, probably. ]
...That is true. It's easier to accept information when it's told to you by a trusted confidant.
no subject
[She can only really afford where she is now because Ren's a workaholic who covers most of the rent.
Her expression falters at the "trusted confidant" part, if only because she's not sure she'd describe one of the people who'd explained most about this place as either of those two things.]
I think even just a familiar face can help. As long as you don't have reason to think they're lying to you, anyway.
[And that had been something that could have gone either way with Akechi.]
no subject
[ How does that work? We just don't know. ]
I suppose that is true enough. It would be easy enough to confirm the information given to you if you had any doubts of its veracity.
no subject
[It had been a lot to take in all at once while she was also wrapped up in freaking out over where she was. A little buffer time before the introductory spiel might have been nice.]
