GENESSIA PROM!

I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (~~LMFAO style~~).

VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

I don't have dance moves. I sway.

[Dancing games are vastly different from actual dancing, so she is aware she isn't that good. But she doesn't mind all that much regardless.]

( she sways. ren chuckles and dances around her, his hip might bump against hers ever so slightly. )

Show me how you sway then.

( as far as he's concerned, swaying is moving and if she's moving with the music, it's dancing, but it was a funny answer regardless. she was like this last time too - not bothered, simply honest. it's definitely something he can appreciate. )

Did you come alone, Nanami-san?

[She was surprised by the slight contact, unsure of how to even respond to it as she just simply moved side to side. One thing she was good at from playing rhythm games was the ability to at least dance to a beat.

It was a moment or so before she just carried on, keeping her arms close to herself as she tried to regain her composer.]

I did. I was here to check on a friend who was going with someone.

[There was a reason why she hasn't done much in terms of dress and hair. Very basic and quick.]

( it might be basic, but ren thinks it suits her. he would have shown up in something less frilly himself if he didn't have someone he felt the need to outdo showing up. speaking of, he tilts his head at her response, curious. )

Were you worried they wouldn't show up? ( a little frown. ) Or maybe worried about who they were showing up with?

No, I just wanted to know if he was making friends.

[Very important reason as she seemed to loosen up a bit. That had been her main reason. She wanted to make sure he wasn't lonely and at this point, she was sure he wasn't, which was good.]

I wasn't worried at all. I was hoping he was here with friends and having a good time.

( oh. ren blinks at that answer, far more innocent than he was expecting, so much so that he can't help a slightly relieved laugh. )

It's good if he makes more friends, but it's also good he already has a friend that wants to look out for him like that. I hope he appreciated your efforts.

( she may not have shown up in anything extravagant, but she still showed up. it's a sweet gesture. )

But what about you? ( he gently takes her hands and starts swaying them along with the both of them. ) Are you having a good time?

[She nodded happily.]

It is, I mean he always seems to be by himself, which is why I was surprised when he said he was coming here... That made me very happy.

[She paused for a moment, stopping what she was doing. She realised that might have seemed a really odd thing to say.]

I'm not saying surprised in a bad way... [She looked at the floor, if only for a moment before looking up again.]

Ah, I am. I've spoken to some people and now I am talking to someone I would like to consider a friend. I-If that if okay?

( he smiles and shakes his head with a little laugh. he didn't think she meant it in a bad way, but it's endearing that she clarifies. )

I think I would have done something similar.

( he's so nosy when it comes to his friends and people he cares about, so he can definitely understand getting a little more involved in things than expected. he's glad she hasn't forgotten about herself though, it's good that she - hah? )

Ah...( him? he's her friend? ren blinks, pausing briefly in their dancing as a tint of pink colors his face. it's a moment before he finds his voice again. ) Y-Yeah. ( beat. he smiles a little wider, fingers tightening a bit on hers. ) I'd feel very lucky, if you did.

( a little edge to his smile, teasing! )

Of course, that means I get to worry over you too now.

[She couldn't help but feel happy that really, she wouldn't have been the only one who would do something like this, or at least something similar. It made her feel a little less weird.

She seemed a little happier when he seemed okay at the concept of actually being friends. It meant it made the world a little less lonely for her and maybe him, she wasn't sure about the latter.]

Okay, though I hope you wouldn't have to worry so much. [Except maybe when she forgets to eat, which still happens even after nearly two years. A habit she will probably not change anytime soon, even if she tried. Upon hearing the music change she paused for a moment, waiting to see what song wold be next.]

While the music is on something else, want to do something? We can always come back.

( oh don't worry chiaki you are both sufficiently weird. )

You can just think of me as your Player Two.

( see? who says nonsense like this. he lets go of her hands once the music stops, nodding at her suggestion. )

Have you eaten already? I met the guy who made most of the food a little earlier.

[She couldn't help but laugh slightly.]

That's a good way of thinking about it.

[She shook her head, she hadn't thought about it.]

No, I haven't. I didn't think about it until just now anyway. [She looked over and it wasn't long before she started to walk over, making sure the other had come with her.]

Since you know who made it, you would know what was the best thing to try, right?

Well, I saw someone with baked apples piled on their plate, but he insisted the Heart Soup was the best, especially if you're feeling tired.

( ren looks over their options, remembering the way link sparkled over everything he had made and chuckles softly. )

He was really excited about all of it actually, I think he'd want us to try everything.

( he might not look it, but this skinny body can really pack it away when he tries. chiaki might not be down though. )

Is there any food you particularly like, Nanami? The stereotype that gamers only eat chips and soda isn't all true, is it?

Baked Apples? Heart Soup? I hope that isn't made of actual hearts.

[She paused as she was looking over everything. She was trying to see what the thing to ping her was. After a moment she soon glanced over before shaking her head slightly.]

I don't have a preference, but no I don't eat just chips and soda. I actually forget to eat usually when I game. So when people snap me out of it and get me to eat it's usually food like sandwiches and such anyway.

You know ( he scratches his cheek, looking curiously towards the soup ) I didn't think to ask.

( i mean, it's not gonna stop him, but it is a little weird to think about. from stealing hearts to eating them. wait.

she forgets to eat? )

I think I underestimated just how deep your gaming goes - you must really sink into them to forget that. ( chiaki, you said you hoped he wouldn't have to worry and then two minutes later...you game so much you forget to eat. there's some concern in his quiet laugh. ) That's a level of passion I've only seen in one of my friends before.

[She figured there was a reason for the name. Maybe that it's made out of love. She didn't know if she was honest, but she couldn't help but be curious. She soon managed to pick some pasta to start with. It was something.]

Ah, yes. It's a bad habit for the most part, but I've thankfully always had people to snap me out of it when the time comes. [Such trust in people really]

( ren will brave the heart soup, taking a bowl to scoop some in and also a plate for apples, meat, and pastries...he might be hungrier then he realized. maybe all the dancing and socializing - his company is usually kept to a cat who does most of the talking. )

Your friends? ( maybe the friend she came to check on? he offers her one of the pastries, something soft and white-dusted with red filling. ) Do your parents get on your case over a habit like that, back home?

[She nodded slightly as she took a bit, looking up slightly.]

Yeah, back home when I was at Hope's Peak. Since we stayed at the school they had to make sure I actually looked after myself sometimes. Thankfully not too often as I had a job of being the class representative, so I usually did pretty well with making sure I was okay and could organize something.

[She had smiled for a moment before it was quick to falter. It was once again a thought that was crossing her mind with what she knew back home.]

Not really. I mostly gamed when they were working anyway.

( ren sets down everything he's gotten in between them, so chiaki can know she's free to pick from his plates if she'd like to. he starts with his apples, but he's listening attentively. )

Ah, you were class rep? That's a big responsibility. ( really, he's a little surprised. not because he thought poorly of her, but there is this stereotype that only lazy or closed off people play games as much as chiaki seems to. he smiles curiously. ) You must have been popular.

( if they trusted her with a job like that. his second thought is that her parents must have been proud, but it's dashed when she reveals they worked enough that she had to fill in the time with her gaming. ren's smile slips, the apple he'd been about to bite lowering a little as he looks at her. )

So they weren't around much, huh? ( pause. ) My situation was a little like that too, but backwards.

[She nodded slightly. She was quite happy with being a class rep really.]

It is, but everyone agreed to it since I always kept the class together by having bonding activities that I set up either by me deciding it, or any suggestions I might of have been given.

[She was looking around to see what to eat next when she finished what she currently has. At the moment she was going rather slowly with it due to talking.]

Backwards... In what way? But... [She nodded slightly, but she at least understood.] Yeah, but they did it for a reason.

Putting it like that, it sounds like you were kinda the glue that held everything together, haha. ( that's cute. she's sweet. ) Considering how you came here for your friend, I can definitely see that.

( he's smiling, but when the conversation turns back to parents, it's more somber. it's not his intention to drag the mood down or turn this into some sort of pity party, but it just seemed natural to express that he can relate to absent parents. )

Mm. I was the one always gone, rather than my parents, so I didn't see them much. It seemed to be the best way to keep things...okay? Between us.

( they didn't want me around, basically. but he doesn't say it so bitterly, more like it was just the way things were, and he adjusted. he is interested to hear why chiaki feels hers had a reason for leaving her to herself like that. )

Was it a good reason?

[Chiaki paused, she had her reasons for going quiet but it was mostly to think certain things over more than anything. Though she didn't know what the words he said were pretty spot on and was the reason she no longer could go home.]

It's mostly because my friend usually doesn't do things like go to parties. So this was more out of being curious more than anything.

[She smiled slightly, if only for a brief moment.]

It was a working reason, I suppose.

Was he glad that you were curious enough to come?

( lighter now, he finishes his apples and pulls the soup over. he wonders if he knows her friend? probably not, since he hasn't met that many people outside of his own group, but he's still curious. )

I see... ( working parents - ann had a problem like that too, and both girls seem to have found their own way to deal with it. ren props his chin in his hand and offers her a little smile. ) You know, I still don't know all that much about this place, but I hope that while you're here you don't have so much time to play games as you did back home.

( translation: nothing against her gaming, but he hopes she has so many people that want to spend time with her that she won't have as much to spend on games. )

He still doesn't know I am even here really? That's the way I planned it.

[She wasn't trying to be sneaky all that much considering she was wandering around in the open. She just didn't want to be a bother and get in the way of him making friends with her always lingering to check on him or something.

She paused for a moment, while you're here. In all honesty, Chiaki was hoping to never vanish. After all she knew she had nothing to go back to really.]

Considering I game as a job, doubt I spend less time. But I do try and do new things when I am able to.

Ah ( ren ducks his head a little and tucks his smile into his shoulder, as if he's hiding ) so it's a stealth mission.

( kidding. he assumes she just didn't want to come off as overbearing or something, which makes sense. he could probably take a lesson or two from her, considering how incapable he is not not sticking his face in people's business.

when he straightens, it's with surprise on his face. he blinks at her. )

You game as a job? ( ...actually, that probably shouldn't surprise him ) What is it that you do, exactly?

Yes. Like if I get caught its game over type stealth.

[She just wanted to play along. It was fun. But she was soon finishing off what she currently had as food.]

If a store or a big company throw a gaming tournament I would potentially be one of the people they would invite to compete for the prize. I can also be asked to join teams for group competitions.
