I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

[He sets his phone up to play a song, and leads her into a dance to fit it.

It may or may not take her a minute to figure out what's going on, since he's leading her out onto the water.

Of course, the flaming blush he's got going may be sufficient distraction.]

[It was quite a delightful song as well. Anastasia was focused on keeping her attention on him and his movements to really be aware of what they're dancing on. Just feel the song in the motion of their steps.

Her bright smile shows she's having a good time despite the rocky start.]

[She may start to notice things are a bit odd when she hears splashing with every step they take. Even so, the footing is rock solid - and it will remain so, as long as she's touching him. A fact he intends to keep firmly in mind, so as to prevent accidents.

Eventually though, the song is going to end.]

[An emotional roller coaster it was. From smiles, to tears, to giggles. Yes, Anastasia giggled a few times during the dance.

But then the song slowed down to a stop and so did she. She knows she should check the time, but right now... She would rather not.]

[He smiles, and for the first time in... quite a while, there's nothing else behind it. It's just a smile.]

I told you before we did this that I wanted to show you something, Anya. I meant that, but I had to be certain of something first. Would you please look down at your feet?

[Which currently have about ten feet of water beneath them.]

[Anastasia looked at Soma curiously. The glanced down at her feet. Seeing the rippling defection of the moon and stars at her feet, she gasped and backed away. But her hands were still firmly in Soma's, so she didn't go far.]

How... Soma, is this your doing?

[He nods, and taps at the water with the toe of one foot.] It is. I haven't been able to do things like this for very long - sharing my abilities, I mean. I can only do it now with physical contact - so uh, don't yank away from me before we get back to the deck, if you're intending to.

[He suppresses the urge to do the awkward neck rub thing that's become a nervous tic for him of late.]

I have another ability related to this one, but we'd need to be in swimwear for me to demonstrate that one.

[Yeah, falling into the water will ruin her dress. So... Yeah.

This talk of another ability has her interested. Being in or around water puts her in spiritual, mental and emotional ease.]

Well then, you'll have to show me. If Lady Sayame were awake, she'd be interested in that as well.

The spirit I'm calling on right now is called Undyne. This is just one of her native powers, but it's the only one I know how to use right now. Let's step back on dry land before I can lose focus, though - I'd rather not ruin your dress.

[He leads her back onto the deck, and then to a pair of deck loungers.]

[Anastasia feels moderately guilty about thinking it, but...that was a bit romantic. She has such a soft spot for that stuff. Once they were back on land, she took a restful seat on the first empty lounge chair she can find to check her matching pink slippers. The heels were wet, so they were definitely on water.]

Thank you for that, Soma, but... Why put in so much effort to dance on water rather than just where we were?

[She appreciates it and had a good time, but...]

I wanted to give you something no one else could. A good memory, to balance out some of the bad. But mostly... I wanted to see you smile.

[He smiles at her again, but this one's just a tiny bit awkward.] I wish I could do it more often. Make you smile, I mean.

[Okay, that made her blush and giggle just a bit.]

It does feel like a tremendous weight has been lifted... Thank you, Soma. For everything.

[She can't promise it's all well and good now. But she can promise this will be one of the best memories.]

[He smiles more fully when she giggles. That's how he wants her to be. Happy.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Soma's phone alarm goes off, displaying the time - thirty minutes to eleven.]

As tempting as it is to keep you to myself, Anya, it appears I must deliver you back to Satsuki now. [He sighs, rather hating time at the moment.] Times like this, I wish I could stop it for more than five seconds at once.

Yeah...

But there's always tomorrow. And the next day. And all the days left to come.

[Anastasia puts her shoes back on and rises from the chair. Then with her purse in hand, she's ready to be escorted home.]

Also, I'm...sorry for crying like that... I must've looked like a baby or something.

[He shakes his head when she says she looked like a baby.] No, you looked like a person in pain. A dear friend of mine. Nothing less. Seeing you hurt like that, and knowing I was a part of it... [He sighs.] I'm sorry, Anya. But you're right about one thing. There's always tomorrow, and all the days after that. I promise I'll be here for all of them.

[He offers his hand again.]

[And she gives him her hand without any hesitation and with a smile.]

You've been so wonderful to me, and I can only wish I can do more for you as well, besides just bake cookies.

[But she can probably just accept being there and just have idle chit-chats over tea and cake.]

I had a wonderful time, Soma. Thank you.

[He smiles and gives her hand a gentle squeeze.]

You're welcome. This was a lovely date.

[No sooner is the word out of his mouth than he blushes bright, bright red. He hadn't meant to say that!

But... that's what it was, wasn't it?]

[Yeah, it kind of was, but not really. It's a date, but not a date-date. But still, Anastasia will just stare, bewildered.]

We should go now before it gets too late...

[She's not mad. But Satsuki definitely will be if she's late.]

[Because of course he came on the horse. She's even got the right kind of saddle and tack on for Anya to ride pillion, though it's certainly not the one she carried him here on.]
