I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (~~LMFAO style~~).

VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

( stop this banter-flirting right now, this isn't helping the situation at all. the answer akechi gives him, ren realizes, isn't really the one he wants - but he's not unhappy with it. of course he's curious to what this secret could be, when a gun to the head surely opened his eyes beyond anything else that could be worse than that. now is not the best time to press on it though, not when they already had such an exhaustive conversation. he's satisfied for now.

besides, ren knows he's said some ugly things himself that he's not quite ready to confront. at least, from what he can gather in the bits and pieces of memory that have floated back to him.

akechi seems to like the way he's behaving just fine though, if he doesn't want him to act too differently. )

So the key is to continue bullying you? Is the secret that you're a masochist?

( so you admit you're bullying him... )

I know you do. [ he winks at him, grinning mischievously just long enough for him to notice. don't stop that banter-flirting. that's incredibly fun, even if it's toying on actual danger every damn time.

he looks to the side when ren doesn't press on the secrets, with a soft tiny smile. that's good. a piece of him wants them out and over and done with but the entire rest of him knows he won't actually give anything up even if he did because it would ruin ...whatever it is they're doing right now. and every single future interaction. this is something good. he's fine for now. take your time. ]

[ he doesn't think he's a masochist even if he keeps interacting with ren and it hurts in a multitude of ways. his eyes move back to him, feigning surprise. ]

Have you been bullying me on purpose this entire time?

( that wink ren has seen a hundred times before suddenly makes his heart trip in a new way he is not at all agreeable with. then once more, at that smile, and his tongue is caught in his mouth, some cheeky response about how poor his detective instincts are if he can't gauge that much, but he realizes something that stops him mid-step in their dancing. )

Ah ( his tongue unsticks from the roof of his mouth, in accordance with the slow pull of his body from akechi's. ) I didn't notice the music had stopped.

( there's some wonder in his tone; to be that absorbed, when he's usually so aware of his surroundings. the air feels a little heavier now that he's not caught up in a web of proximity and teasing, his hands also feel antsy without something to grab or pockets to hide in, and so ren clears his throat before pulling at his gloves, just to busy his fingers. )

We should head back downstairs, yeah? ( a small grin, wry, he tugs one glove free. ) Without something to fill silence, our mouths are bound to get us into more trouble.

[ akechi could have gone a while without realizing the music had stopped, had ren not decided to point it out. ren's usually so aware while akechi gets lost in thought sometimes. he missed more than a train or two just thinking about something. hell, once he forgot he was in the middle of an interview. this being one of those moments where he's really thinking about anything but what might be playing in the background. ren was the entire thought process.

but he's surprised it seemed to bypass ren too. is it egotistical to be proud of himself for being so distracting? he could say something cocky about it but there's something heavy lingering inside now. like his stomach dropped because a pleasant moment has to end now and the world has to get back on track. close proximity lost. distance regained. don't forget: you tried to murder him twice. ]

I suppose we should. [ there's nothing on ren's arms with that glove free. ] We do seem to lack the ability to control what we might end up doing with our tongues tonight.

[ hi. let's make it worse. ]

( the dichotomy of his personality is truly on full display here as ren seems to be 100% serious about that interpretation when he tugs off his other glove and tells akechi )

( it's not showing him off to his friends or anything, but it's certainly a shift from earlier in the evening, where ren wasn't sure if he wanted them to be associated as anything more than acquaintances. now he's talking about introducing him to people.

[ what hell are you talking about???? akechi is caught just looking at him with his brows raised all the way into his hairline and his mouth in a stiff smile of confusion.

well, that's not where he thought this was going. oh god. now he feels stupid. he honestly isn't surprised this went to food. he laughs, covering his face while he does with both hands because now he just feels highly embarrassed he thought this was going in ANY direction that wasn't food. oh my god. ]

Sure. I'll meet the soup maker. [ he's honored ren would want to even bother bringing him along to meet anyone. a chef is probably a baby-step but it's a good one. ]

I think the food blogger in you will definitely take a shine to...?

( ren trails off; the confusion he returns at seeing akechi cover his face would seem to lend further credit to his misinterpretation, but....who knows with this asshole, really. nevertheless, he comes two steps closer and curls his fingers over akechi's wrist. its skin to skin now, and he can feel the drum of akechi's pulse under his fingers when he pulls his arms down. )
