I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

[He's wearing clothes. That's all I decided.]

A. Lobby
[Shi isn't here to stay! He tells himself that over and over again. What he is here for is taking notes! He's standing by the wall with a cute notebook, writing down notes with an equally cute pen. Some people who pass by will get stopped by the timid boy's questions:]

E-Excuse me? What exactly do people do at prom? [He holds up his notebook,] I want to tell my sisters about it.

[For those who know him, they may recall that Shi's sisters are dead. He's only here because they would have wanted to go themselves.]

B. Food Table
[A spirit boy is watching. Rather than eating anything, though, he's writing about the food in his notebook. There's no reason for him to eat anything himself, after all. Once again: He occasionally questions people:]

Wh-Which food is best? There are so many options..!

[Ada was just happy to sit on the sidelines for the moment, smiling happily as she watched them until she heard a voice to her left. Turning her head slightly, she found herself pausing for a moment.]

Um, well. I don't know prom per say but a lot of it is like the balls I went to back home. I can explain what people do at those. [She couldn't help but laugh slightly.] Sorry, I'm not much help.

[stillsmiling]

Balls? You mean like princes and princesses have?

[He sounds intrigued! Shi knows a real princess here already, but he's never learned about things like fancy balls.]

I've only heard of those in storybooks... Are they fun?

Sort of, but nobles have such things as well for various occasions.

[Or at least have celebrations for certain events, to say the least. She had gone to a few herself since she became of age.]

But they are. At least to me anyway.

[stillsmiling]

That sounds amazing..! Eheh. So for tonight, we're kind of pretending to be nobles!

[He smiles at that thought. His sisters would probably have really enjoyed this. As Kami, they would have loved to be at parties and surrounded by people in general.]

I was wondering why we all had to dress up, but that explains it.

I guess so. I am not sure if that is the purpose of this more than just to have fun in a different way than one might.

[She always had a good time talking to people who were at the parties. Mingling was always something she had to do after all.]

A. Lobby

[Seth is looking for Futaba when he happens to catch sight of his roommate. Shi is looking as tense as usual though Seth isn't sure if it's because of the party or if it's because it's Shi. He decides to saunter over and gets caught by the sudden question.

mmmm.]

You usually come with a date, enjoy their company, dance, eat and have a nice time talking with and meeting others.

[His lips tug into a teasing smile.]

It's be easier to see what people do if you step inside.

[stillsmiling]

Seth!

[Shi is trying to contain his excitement. With Seth being like an older brother, Shi's "sister diary" mentions him a lot. He peeks towards the open doors again, then looks back at Seth.]

I'm scared of going in there. It's crowded. [He's only this blunt with Seth.]

[unbridledtiger]

[Seth follows Shi's gaze thoughtfully towards the doors.] Because they've just opened. There is a lot more room inside. [He is supposed to meet Futaba but he doesn't want to leave Shi to his own devices. He cares about him in his own weird way. It's been awhile since Seth's felt that way about anyone.] How about we walk in together. Check it out and if you still want to leave I'll walk you out.

[stillsmiling]

Eh? Is that okay? I thought you were busy with someone..?

[And Shi doesn't want to get in the way. All he knows about prom right now is that people come with dates, so he assumes Seth must have like... 900 dates. Obviously.]

I guess a peek in is okay. Only long enough to sap up bad luck, but not long enough to spread it?

I have time.

[Seth is planning to spend all night with Futaba. He doesn't think that she'll mind him taking a few minutes to make sure that his roommate is comfortable. If anyone can understand being weirded out at parties it's Futaba. Plus, he hasn't seen her yet, so it isn't as if she's waiting.]

And yeah, let's go.

[He places Shi's palm on his arm and guides him towards the main entrance of the ball.]

[Have Rapunzel. Have Rapunzel take a bit of everything as she tries to place it onto one plate. It wasn't going very well and she was currently pausing to have a think of how to solve this dilemma.]

[stillsmiling]

[Shi spots Rapunzel and her very noble mission. With his own empty plate in hand, he walks up next to her and smiles nervously. Helping people is hard for a curse, but he wants to try.]

Do you need an extra hand...?

[She looked over slightly before looking back at her plate.]

I do. But I know the answer, but I also don't want to be rude by taking more than the one plate.

[stillsmiling]

Then you can share mine! I can't eat very much.

[Which is to say, eating is just "for fun" with Shi. He would feel bad eating too much on his own.]

But that would also seem very rude of me.

[She would feel bad, to say the least, but she didn't know that he just ate for fun either.]

[The only thing that held back a soft giggle on Hikari's part was the fact that...until a short while ago...she had been in the same position. Prom was a new concept to her, one far more within Mimi's realm of knowledge than hers, but she did her best to recall the older girl's stories and descriptions as she turned to Shi.]

It's similar to a Festival. [The first comparison that came to mind.] Everyone comes dressed up, and there will be music and dancing and food. And I'll be taking pictures at the booth in a little while, if you'd like to add them to your...uh...journal?

[At least, she assumed that's what the notebook was.]

[stillsmiling]

[Shi looks down at the notebook again. He isn't quite sure what it is either. It isn't like he can send letters to his dead sisters, in Genessia or home. Let alone sending them an entire notebook.]

... Yeah. It's a journal. In case I see my sisters again. [He peeks in the direction of the photo booth, remembering what he's learned about cameras. They don't steal souls!] I'm glad people can have pictures taken here. They're too dressed up to commit every detail to memory. [Though, he's not sure what pictures he would add to his journal. Having his picture taken is still scary.]

It's not just about the outfits. Most of the people who are having their picture taken are doing so with their date, or a group of friends.

[...which wasn't to say there weren't some girls who might want to remember their physical appearance in their dress of the evening. Just that, overall, the social aspect seemed to be favored more.]

[stillsmiling]

I came alone, though... I think Seth has a date, so he'll be too busy to spend time with me.

[He fidgets with his journal. A photo would be nice. Even if it's scary, he does want to prove to himself that he can do brave things.]

Are you with someone?

[She nodded.]

I'm here with Takeru.

He even helped with the setup earlier, so we've been together on and off for most of the day.

[...which, given it was them, was fairly typical.]

[Shi might recognize Masaru from their discussion on the network the other day. In any case, he's stuffing his face with food when he hears his question, which he tries to swallow in one gulp before replying. It's a bit difficult, but he hits himself in the chest, managing it.]

It's all pretty good dude! Probably the best part of all this!

[stillsmiling]

Really? All of it? [Shi looks on. At first with awe, and then concern.] Uh, please don't choke. I don't think it's going anywhere, so...

[And now, recognizing Masaru, Shi mumbles even more shyly:] Nice to see you again.

Eh, I'm usually able to handle myself. [Masaru blinks.] Huh? Have we met before?

... Oh wait, we talked on the network thing, right?

Y-yes! I'm Shi, uh. The Curse Kami...
