GENESSIA PROM!
For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:
1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open
III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.
Smile, everyone!
IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!
Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?
V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!
In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (
VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.
Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.
VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

Being surrounded by so many children is also odd to Era. It's not as though they're uncommon in Eorzea, but you just don't see so many gathered in one place very often unless it's an orphanage. That is just one more thing that makes the adults stand out to her. Especially adults very clearly above middle-age.
She, however, blends in with the children despite her age. Or at least seems to appear more like a teenager than a grown woman given her slight size. It's been an odd mixture of a relief (Era doesn't like standing out, which has been hard considering she is not a human) and an annoyance (she is nearer to thirty than twenty and would like to be treated as such).
Era considers whether or not to bother him. She's almost done eating another few sandwiches, washing it down with a sweet Cordial she has on her, and has some more time before she has another turn on stage with her violin. So it wouldn't put her out any to squeeze a few more dances in before then. Decision made, Era wanders over to the older man with the stride of one quite clearly accustomed to combat no matter how relaxed she appears. Her tail sways gentle behind her in time with the beat of the music.
She offers a hand out to him with a pleasant smile. ]
Would you care to dance, sir?

Jack might not recongize Era by her looks, but he does pick up on the familiar voice almost instantly. His head turns to look at her. The appearance isn't unsettling. Hell, Overwatch had a gorilla from the moon as a chief scientist. The understanding scope of reality changed a bit when one considered that. He stands from the pillar he is leaning on and eyes her hand for a moment. Then, he takes it and gives a gentle handshake.
It isn't like he can kiss anyone's hand with a mask on. ]
I'm not really one for dancing.
[ He's actually terrible at it. ]
no subject
If he had tried to kiss her hand she definitely wouldn't have known what to do, so that's probably for the best.
She does give him an appraising look, pleasant smile now quirked with some amusement. ]
And yet you've come to a dance?
no subject
[ He owed the good Doctor a lot. Going out with her to prom seemed like a pathetic way to thank her, but, it was what she had asked.
Her grip is surprising, but, he's met plenty of physically strong women in his day. Especially ones that wouldn't be afraid to put a bullet in your head if asked. ]
I'm guessing you're here for the dancing.
no subject
[ There are a fair number of reasons Era is here tonight. Firstly being that she offered to help with the music. Then the fact that there is free food to be devoured. Most importantly is the opportunity to meet new people, since she has only properly met less than a handful of new acquaintances before tonight.
Getting to dance is just a very nice bonus. ]
Among other things, yes.
Re: Soldier: 76 | OTA
atwith, found the aesthetic of Mr. Morrison very funny. With comedic, slight tremors in his voice, he approached.]Goodness, I'd no idea this was a masked ball.
[He offers his hand for a shake.]
I'm Ted, and you are?
[They're both a little out of their element, it'd seem. Ted, for wearing something as respectable as a tuxedo, and for not knowing the other mans' name. He'd been very good about not giving it away so far on the network. All Ted knew of him was that he had something to do with wars, and was skeptic about authority; always a promising feature.]
sorry this is so late! work ate me :(
Most just call me Soldier: 76 now. Or soldier.
[ That is the most of a name he's ever getting -- at least for now. ]
And you, kid?
Darn you, work. *fist shake*
[He's still in a jocular mood, despite the defensive posture. Not the sociable type, he figured.]
Eheh, still Ted. Haven't earned any titles yet, but one day, fortune might bestow that acclaim.
[Though he did win an award for "Most Annoying"; 1st place and everything! 76 might clue in to that.]
Who did you bring, eh? Is she pretty?
seven day work week was horrible. don't reccomend.
Titles aren't worth much. Neither are the medals or statues. Don't bother with it.
[ Gruff and bitter? A bit. ]
She brought me.
but all that $$$
That's humble advice. I'll endeavor to take it.
[It doesn't seem to have made 76 very happy, but perhaps wars have that effect on people.]
Haha, I'm sorry to hear that. Which one? Can you spot her in the crowd?
[Does he have her in his sights?]
sadly, it still was spread out over two pay cycles...
[ Don't take it personally, Ted. Soldier is rarely happy. ]
Hard to miss a doctor that usually wears angel wings strapped to her back.
[
OH MY GOD SOMEONE SAID IT]Re: sadly, it still was spread out over two pay cycles...
Ahaha, Ms. Zeigler's interested in you, eh? She must like men in uniform. Or tuxedos; did she dress you too?
[a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i9GzhKvEpI" how could I not]
II.
super smooth, that's noctis lucis caelum for you.
can he help it though, if he's trying to get a better look? honestly he's wondering if it changes colours or lights up different depending on the way the guy moves and focuses on different things.
he steals another glance as the deep bass of a song rumbles on.
maybe it has a music shift setting... )
no subject
Eventually, Soldier's gaze cuts directly over to Noctis. It might be a bit hard to tell that the man behind the visor is staring straight at the prince. Given one can't see his eyes and that's the point. ]
no subject
but he just... wanted to know about that cool looking visor, dammit!
thinking the damage was already done, he eventually made his way over and cleared his throat loudly, raising his voice just a little to be heard over the music. )
You uh, ever been to a prom before? ( since 'did they look better in night vision?' was probably an awkward tack-on. )
II
The face that showed up on her phone as belonging to the man who talked to her about Vishkar. Well, at least she could put a real person to the words. And took a chance and walked over.]
Even with my limited knowledge, I don't think that standing against a wall is how you 'prom'.
no subject
Depends on what you're there for. [ Meaning he wasn't there to dance. ]
no subject
Should at least enjoy yourself.
VII.
She's trying to keep herself in check, but the anxiety was building up. She was sort of in a blind panic when she ran into him.]
O-Oh! I-I'm sorry! Uhm.. Please excuse me.
[She was about to leave again when she noticed the mask. This was the Soldier she made an alliance with; One who had no idea that she was Alibaba. So she may be a little distracted.]
