GENESSIA PROM!

I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform. Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night! Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch? Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (~~LMFAO style~~).

VI. - CHAPERONES

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to? The night is young, and so are they~

[Rapunzel felt like she had done her most impressive work yet. She had handmade her own dress and in keeping with the theme of the prom in general, Rapunzel had opted to create a long dark blue dress, sleeves using lace and patterned with stars and moons that were clear to the eye but if you got close enough would notice. The dress itself along the bottom of the dress had stars, which while looked random and out of place were in fact star constellations that she knew of from back home.

Even her hair was keeping with the theme, having taken hours to even put up in the first place. But she had managed to get it up into a brain with little star pins that she used in order to keep it up. On top of her head rest a headpiece with a moon that rested on the side of her head.

All in all, the young woman was proud of what she had created.]

Around
[Rapunzel was here, there and everywhere. She was making the most of the prom and was going to greet people she saw by themselves. After all, no one should really be alone during this, right?]

I see you are alone. Do you want some company?

Food Table
Isn't all this food delicious?

[rapunzel said happily as she was going for her third little cake. She didn't know how they managed to make them so tiny, but they were utterly fascinating regardless.]

Have you tried these yet? You have to try them? [She turned toward the first person she said, a wide but sweet smile on her face.]

Dance Floor
[Rapunzel can be seen dancing on the dance floor having the time of her life. If she could she will walk on over toward anyone who wasn't dancing, while still moving to the beat herself.]

I thought part of the point of a prom was to dance. So how come you aren't?

Oh, Rapunzel!

[Eliot turns to the familiar voice, already braced for a nice dress. Everyone has dressed up so fancily, and he has no doubt that Rapunzel has done the same. What he wasn't expecting was for her to have put so much effort into the dress. And her hair too!

It takes him a moment to process her design before he laughs.]

You look amazing! Are those constellations on your dress?

[She puts her hands on her dress swaying it back and forth for a moment.]

They are actually. They are constellations I knew of back home. When I was trying to figure out what the lights were in the sky. Turne out what came on my birthday every year were not stars.

[That was another hobby she figured she should add to the long list she already had really.]

I thought I would in keep with the theme. Did I go a little over board?

Ah, you studied astrology? Rapunzel, that's incredible! Astrology is a very difficult subject!

[He hums, sincerely impressed with both her knowledge and her handiwork.]

I think it's beautiful. It reflects your personality as wonderfully as the theme.

Well yeah. I mean it kept me busy, I learned something new and I managed to narrow down what the light weren't.

[So all in all, it was a good thing she studied. But thinking about it more, she knew she really did have too much time on her hands back home. Here she was somewhat glad she could do so much more.

She smiled for a moment, she was happy with the compliment.]

Thank you. Though not sure what I will do with it when this is over. That's the only downside really.

I'm sure the dress will make a nice memory... A library of knowledge isn't necessarily full of books, hm?

[Deep down, a part of Eliot panics over that fact. It means acknowledging that even with his memory, he's never going to be the perfect library.]

And there will always be a sky of stars and reasons to dance. You'll have chances to wear it again, I'm sure.

No. I think it's also about experiences, right?

[She paused trying to think it over. SHe thinks that the right answer at least.]

But I've noticed with all the dances I have been too, people never wear the same dress twice.

Yes, exactly. Your dress will be plenty experienced~!

Though, I don't see why you cannot wear it twice. Dresses are meant to be seen, right? Parties are so strange. I seem to recall... [He squints, as he is having to pry open locked memories to remember:] ... As the Living Library, I was always dressed the same as the early parties. So I could be recognized easily, and kept tabs on.

I think I will be more experienced than my dress since I'm the one who is doing things.

[She couldn't help but give off a light chuckle for a moment, but she soon stopped to pay attention to what he was saying.]

Kept tabs on? Like being watched all the time? That must not have been fun at all.

[He smiles at that, agreeing:] Mm. You're becoming quite wise!

[But then the topic veers back. Eliot is honestly not sure how to discuss his life back home. Both because the people of Genessia seem morally opposed to it, and because his old memories are gradually fading away.]

It isn't a matter of fun. I'm not alive to enjoy myself like others are. I exist to serve. They only brought me to parties so that the other Immortals could choose to leave or take some wisdom.

[Rapunzel couldn't help but frown slightly. Admittedly she didn't understand at all. After all different worlds and such. So that might have been normal. Buit her as a person couldn't help but find that thought process to be a little sad to say the least.]

That sounds like a really sad life. It's like... being trapped and unable to see what life has to offer.

[Eliot is used to being told that... but when it comes from Rapunzel, it sticks out. He knows that she was trapped in a tower, and unable to see what was outside her reach. Even if there was slight similarity, he always felt that her situation was wrong and unfair.

He's actively trying not to agree that his situation is sad too.]

Yes, well... It's alright. Before I became the Living Library, I was just a nameless orphan on the streets of France. I would have likely died before I turned 10, without ever seeing beyond the slums. So! I think this worked out wonderfully. I'm so lucky!

[Eliot smiles, trying to be positive.]

Ah, do you like dancing?

[She...guessed that was a positive, but she wasn't sure. It meant he got to live past that age, but at the same time one really had to give up a lot in order to simply not die. Rapunzel wondered if she would ever be able to make tough choices like that in order for herself to survive or for anyone she cared about to survive.

She wondered how she would deal with it then. But she brushed it off for the moment and trying to go back to her usual positive self. A smile passing by her lips.]

Ah, I do enjoy a good dance or two? Want to go? It will be fun I am sure and without shoes, it's so much easier to do.

[Lea smiles to see Rapunzel having such a good time, but shrugs at the question.]

Just not that into dancing. I wasn't really planning on coming at all, but a friend of mine talked me into it.

They are a good friend if they talked you into it. I mean no one should be alone on such a fun day.

[At least to her anyway. She was making sure to make the most of it.]

But even though your not much into dancing, you can just experience it once and then know you at least tried.

Eh, I wouldn't have been alone either way.

[He has his Pokémon back at the apartment, after all; they count as company, right?]

And I have danced before... technically. It's just been awhile.

[Like... 'over a decade' awhile. Since before the Organization.]

I wouldn't want to get in the way of people who're genuinely enjoying themselves.

Oh really? That's great to hear.

[Rapunzel does dance and she goes to move around him while talking.]

You're not getting in the way as you put it. I mean your not in my way, so just have fun with it.

[Lea chuckles.]

You say that now. Just wait til I get out there and start stepping on people's toes and things; I'm a little out of practice to want to try dancing in a big group of people.

I would say that again. I mean you learn by making mistakes, right? Same with relearning I am sure.

[Even though Rapunzel doesn't wear shoes, she probably wouldn't mind.]

Yeah, you probably would. You're nice like that.

[Darnit, stop finding holes in his excuses for not admitting that he feels awkward and uncomfortable about dancing in front of people!]

It's just, one reason I originally wasn't going to come was the dancing part; there's really only so many things to do at an event like this if you don't dance, and I just... don't. You look good dancing; tall and lanky as I am, I'd probably look more like a drunk giraffe, you know?

You can always go outside and look at the stars or something when dancing becomes the only things.

[She soon stopped what she was doing.]

But I wouldn't mind if you looked like a drunk giraffe or a graceful gazelle. So long as you are having fun, that's all that matters to me.

[Why do you have to be so nice, Rapunzel?]

[sighs]

It feels weird, OK? The idea of dancing in front of people. Especially after not doing it for so long. You might be nice enough not to call me on it if I end up looking stupid, but that doesn't mean other people would be, you know?

Look around you. Is anyone honestly watching?

[She gestures around, spinning at the same time before putting her hands behind her back.]

Everyone is focused on other people. friends loved ones or food. I don't think anyone would judge you for it.

I didn't say it was a feeling that made a lot of logical sense. Normally I could have a few drinks to loosen up a bit- a lot of things seem like a really great idea after you've had a few, for better or worse-, but there's not a lot of alcohol here, so...

[He shrugs.

You may have to drag the socially awkward ~~rooster~~ penguin out on the dance floor to get this to happen, Rapunzel.]

[Rapunzel honestly didn't understand alcohol at all, nor was she ever curious to try to just to find out, but never the less, she figured there were other ways to help someone and yes it probably involved dragging of all things.]

Then being with me will help, I am sure. Let's have one dance at least.
