I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

Prom? Well, Noah's only here out of respect for the girl who talked to her those few months ago. After learning of both Mimi's disappearance and the fact she was behind this, Noah figured it was best to make it up to her--quietly--by attending this. She didn't expect to go very far; someone as ethereal and unstable as she was didn't make for good company at parties.

...besides, the closest she had to high school was the mess of magic experiments she did with Ashuri and others back in the day. So really, what's prom?

[Hotel Lobby]

When Noah first appears, she... simply does so, appearing in an open space with a quick, beam-like burst. Perhaps a little overdressed in a ball gown (but blue, and with bunny patterns), Noah had decided to take what worked last time and stick with it. Hollow eyes scan her surroundings, though she is initially intense, as if expecting enemy attack instead of... what's happening.

Maybe as a result of that, she looks a little disappointed.

"I hyped myself over nothing." Noah murmurs.

[Food and Drink]

"No carrot juice? Bah." That's about all Noah would concern herself with drink wise. Though given her spirit form, she doesn't really need to eat, the small baby carrots nevertheless are pleasant enough to chew on, taste or not. She considers swiping all of the carrots given that no one else is eating them. Why not? She's not going to let these admittedly just adequate carrots go to waste!

[Misc.]

[[Noah drifts everywhere, but unless you are particularly magically inclined or bunny-like, won't approach. Drag her into some fun.]]

Right? It's just a bunch of couples making heart eyes at each other.

[Uai is similarly disappointed by the prom, but glad to see Noah. He hasn't spoken to her since she beat some flexibility into his logic.]

At least there's free food.

[ Noah recognized the man who spoke to her through the comms almost immediately. Eyebrow raised, Noah strode over to greet him... in her own way, really. ]

I'll give it credit for that.

Maybe if I hadn't been distracted by things before I left the island, I could have appreciated this more.

Distracted? Do I want to know?

[A sincere question: He's not nosy for trivial information, but for useful knowledge.]

Hopefully the night doesn't end with us feeling like we wasted our time.

Well, it's a long story. But safe to say, it did lead up to my death.

[ Noah looked around. ]

I wonder if there's something entertaining for non-couples.

People watching..? Is all I can think of.

[He admits with a shrug.]

And food, if that's your thing... Catching up, if that's also your thing...

Seems like it. All of these people seem so silly, there's bound to be something to laugh at.

[ She kind of wished she could use her bunny phenomenon spell on something, and see if she can get people talking about more interesting subjects. ]

Catching up, huh? Are you curious about my efforts?

[ Now someone being interested in her, this is a little new. ]

Is it a problem if I am? You're a lot more interesting than anyone else right now.

[Though, Uai is trying to be cautious of being too nosy.]

Well, since you're bothering me instead of these boring lovebirds, I'll take it as a sign of your good taste and humor you.

[ Noah's face was at first a sort of condescending grin. But it faded to a more neutral expression, even turning slightly somber. ]

I wasn't always like this. As a matter of fact, when I was just a little younger, a scene like this would have made me excited.

[ There's at least a small part of her that's still curious, even. ]

But I was a guardian once. My job was to protect my small little island. And because I was the strongest, I believed I was the only one suited for it.

[Uai listens attentively, paying attention to the small ways that her expression shifts. He's been realizing there is much more to Noah than bunnies and being dead, but he isn't ready to press.]

I think the mortal me would have enjoyed this as well. But I had a date back then. I was one of "them." [He gestures to the couples, chuckling.]

Now I'm just a grouchy old man who doesn't want to be happy again.

Mortal?

[ Now that was interesting. Technically, Noah was no longer mortal herself, but the way he said it held different implications. ]

Huh, not dying seems to have far more drawbacks then I've been led to believe. [ She grimaces. ] Irritating.

I've been led to believe that it's a person by person thing. My mother isn't mortal, but she would still enjoy this party.

My problem isn't my mortality. It's my lover. [Or lack there of.]

[ Well of course she knew that. Noah huffed, she did not want to admit to be so easily led, regardless of his actual intent. ]

Maybe then, I should have found a lover before I came here. Having none means this is no fun.

And lovers aren't easily made, right?

[Satou has come back to the food table for Round 2, probably ditching her date somewhere. sry. She notices Noah is bunching on the carrots and immediately remembers their carrot cake promise. Maybe they can keep that here?]

Have you checked the cake platter? I wonder if they included carrot cake?

[erinoah]

[ Noah paused her munching to recognize... ]

Ah, Satou.

[ Hollow-looking eyes regard her. Up close, Noah looks no different than someone alive, with the sole exception of aforementioned eyes. ]

I didn't see any, but I hadn't really started looking for it just yet. You say some is here?

There must be! You can't have a cake platter without carrot cake! It would just be a crime against cake.

[She's so determined that she begins leading the way to the cake platter.]

How have you been? It's been way too long!

[erinoah]

So the carrots don't matter, huh?

[ Noah's voice sounds mildly accusatory, but the faint grin on her face betrays it. She can't help but find Satou's enthusiasm amusing. ]

I've been making headway raising bunnies, of course. I only appeared here out of respect for the original organizer, who I heard disappeared. But...

[ How to voice her mild disappointment? It's difficult without appearing to be too harsh. ]

I expected something different.

[Satou tilts her head, giving the party another look. She's trying to imagine what could be different... then it hits her.]

I don't think I came with any expectations. I kind of figured I would be ignored or Sync would magically forget me.

Parties should have more games, though. [She hasn't been to a party since she was like... 7. Where's pin the tail on the donkey?]

[erinoah]

[ Noah thought about it, and then what Satou said about expectations clinched itself to her mind. ]

Ah, that's it! This doesn't feel like a party!

[ Noah crossed her arms. ] It feels more like a bunch of people making googly eyes at each other.

Googly eyes? [What Satou imagines now is essentially the meme where you stick googly eyes on pictures and laugh at the results.

Looking out at the crowds... Yup.]

I can see that... a bit. Maybe I'm just being bitter because no one makes those eyes at me...?

[erinoah]

Oh? Are you wishing for love?

[ Noah's hollow-looking eyes twinkle with mischief. It seems that she was not aware of the more literal meme. ]

Forget a life yearning for humans, and love bunnies. Maybe if you grovel enough, I'll extend it to myself.

[Satou has missed the implications. She just heard 'love bunnies.']

Well, bunnies are cute... I do love bunnies. I always wanted one, but I travel so much...

[...] Ah. And I don't need to yearn for love. I mean... Back home, Mikky makes those eyes for me. He's just not here. Maybe I miss him...?

[erinoah]

So what you need is a bunny suited for travel.

[ She doesn't have that kind of bunny, not on her and not at home, her Pokemon bunnies are too rare and the bunnies she has at home aren't suited for travel. ]

Ugh, why must I do everything?

[ She felt a combination of relief, irritation, and mild confusion over the former two from Satou having no inclination for romance. Noah thought she was beyond love, given her past deeds and current form. But Uai had wound up making her realize it was not just herself.

Being Noah though, she decided she was going to show none of those and go for a fourth option. ]

So you just want someone to worship you with googly eyes, huh. I know a spell or two that can do just that. [ Dangerous grin. ]

[priceofmagic]

GUWAH?

[When Noah reaches that conclusion, even dense Satou is flustered. She begins waving her hands and trying to form words, but initially she's just making embarrassed noises.]

N-No no nooo, uuhhh I meeeaan! I don't need to yearn for it? I shouldn't? I don't know h-how to explain it, um..! [She covers her face.] I wouldn't want Mikky to worship me. That's the opposite of it, I-I... auauuu...

I-I... I guess... What I want is for there to be someone in Genessia... wh-who wants me here. Who thinks me being here... is a blessing. But then I realized Mikky already tells me those things. I wonder if I want 'someone' to feel that I'm a good thing, or if it has to be Mikale...?

[DUMPS HER EMOTIONAL ISSUES ON NOAH. so sorry.]

[ Noah's face changes from that self-confident grin to a bit of a surprise, and then a thoughtful frown. That harried confession reminds her of the first time she met this girl, fearful and seeking approval. The temptation to bully her has returned.

It's not nearly as easy to do it now, though. ]

Who's Mikky? You want... someone to care? But... do you want romance?

[ Because Noah's head is still trying to process those emotional issues. And she isn't the most stable woman herself, either. ]
