I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

Terra Branford ~ OPEN

A little bit of everything.

[Terra arrives dressed in a short red dress with matching gloves that run up the length of her arms. Red ribbons accent the fabric as well as added waves of pink material around her thin waist. Her shoes are the same red as her dress with a heel that lifts her an extra three inches from the ground. Her shoulders are bare and a red gem-ed necklace circles her throat. A red ribbon pulls back bits of her hair, only allowing thin wisps of blond curls frame the angelic curve of her cheeks. A touch of pink lipstick colors her lips, tying her outfit together.

Around her wrist is a red rose, accented with buds of pink and white. Her date, Sidon, is wearing a similar red rose on the fabric of his navy blue vest. They walk in together, not at all subtly since Sidon is so tall, and slowly begin to scope out the dance and it's many attractions.

Terra spends most of the night with Sidon but there are a few people who she hopes to run into. Upon seeing someone she knows, she excuses herself from Sidon's side and steps over to say hello. Her heels click on the polished floor while a warm smile pulled across her features.

She's been looking forward to the dance for over a month and she's excited to finally be here. Terra wants to try all the food as well as dance. She doesn't know how to dance in a formal sense but she's willing to try anyway. There is at least one person she's promised a dance too but she wouldn't mind dancing with others as well, as long as they're okay with a clumsy partner.

At different points of the night Terra can be found wandering around on her own. In a few instances she's looking for something but towards the beginning of the night she finds herself lost and turned around. It's lucky for her that Sidon is so tall.

[ooc: sort of a catch all. Feel free to run into Terra where ever. She'll more or less be at all of the prompts at some point or another.]

Closed to Sidon - Part 1

Taste testing.

Here. Tell me how this one is.

[Terra takes a small cake that's been decorated in pink and white frosting and holds it up to Sidon's mouth. It's bite size and very cute, somehow matching the same pink hue as Terra's lipstick. She doesn't need to feed him but she's having fun and he hasn't told her to stop.]

Then we can try the chocolate ones.

[There are other foods laid out across the tables but Terra has a weakness for sweets. She can't try that many without feeling unwell and so, Sidon has become her official taste tester.]

Do you like chocolate?

[terra, still much smaller in comparison to him even when sitting, was offering him cake at such a height that he needed to lean down. he went all the way down to her level, opening his mouth and biting at the fork. he takes it away, chewing.]

Ah! This one is fantastic as well! [sidon makes a fist!] Keep them coming, Terra! And yes yes, I have tried chocolate here! It is just as wonderful!

[sidon goes to grab at a chocolate covered strawberry, offering it to terra as well.]

Here you are! Try this one! [open wide!]

[Her smile widens as Sidon leans forward and bites the bit of cake from the tip of her fork. Terra likes watching the way that he moves. It's fluid, as if he's still somehow encased in water no matter where he goes.]

Then I have a chocolate one for you next. [Her laughter sounds like light airy wind chimes as he offer her the chocolate covered strawberry.]

Hold on.

[She stifles her laughter and takes a bit of the strawberry. The chocolate coating break and she holds out a hand to catch the falling piece while trying to gather a much of the treat in her mouth. Tangy sweetness and rich chocolate roll across her tongue.]

It's good.

Isn't it just?!

[and he popped the other half of the strawberry into his mouth, wanting to taste the rest for himself. it was simply delicious!]

Do you have treats like this in your world? I certainly do not. We do not have such luxuries!

If we do, then I don't know of them.

[Terra smiles as she reaches for a lemon tart and holds it out to him to try.]

The food I remember is very bland. I think that's why I like sweet things so much.

Oh, is that so? Why is it so bland?

[he leans down, biting the tart now as well!] Mm! Yet another magnificent taste!

Food was rationed and had to be able to last long distances. I traveled a lot and we couldn't stop and prepare fancy dishes like the ones here.

[Even when they hunted, the meat is then usually grilled or turned into jerky that will last a long hike. It had never been prepped with sugar or sweets. Edgar had introduced Terra to some delectables but that hadn't been the norm.]

You like it?

I think I like the lime flavor better than lemon.

Closed to Sidon - Part 2

Almost dancing.

[Terra looks unsure, hoovering at the edge of the dance floor. She wants too dance and she's accepted Sidon's invitation to dance but now that she's here, she realizes that she has no idea how to dance to these songs.

Her fingers tighten around Sidon's hand as he pulls her onto the dance floor.]

I don't know what I'm doing.

[Terra admits, biting gently into her lower lip as her bright blue eyes look up at Sidon.

She has memories of dancing but for some reason, everyone is wearing masks. One figure stands out in those memories, a boy with startling red eyes shining out through his dark mask. A chill snakes it's way down her spine and she pushes the thought away.]

Do not fret.

[sidon grins down at her.]

I had only just recently learned how to dance as well, a good friend of mine taught me at the last gathering we had! [belle showed him how to move, and he eventually got the hang of it.

he moved in to position with her, but he also notices her pausing for the moment.]

Is something the matter?

[greenmagick]

[Terra's fingers slip into Sidon's palm as she gently takes his hand and guides him closer to the music.] I'm fine. I thought I was remembering something but it isn't important right now. [The memory is pleasant but also chilling and she doesn't want to think about it right now. She wants to dance, relax and enjoy this night with her handsome date. That's what she's been told that you do at prom.] You'll have to remind me how to dance. [Terra looks at the other people dancing and matches their positions, turning to face Sidon while placing her hand gently on his forearm. His skin was smooth and chilly but she liked the way it felt beneath her palm.]

[princeliers]

I shall indeed! Yes yes, alright...

[and sidon begins to move with her! he takes her hand and begins to move, to glide across the dance floor with her. his hand at her back made it much easier to take her with him, but it was still hard for him since he needed to bend down so much to get her to come with him.]

Just like this Terra, and do watch your feet! I don't want to accidentally step on you!

[Dark thoughts slipped from Terra's focus as a warm happy smile pulls across her lips.]

Sidon! [She laughs as Sidon sweeps her onto the dance floor.

Her feet move quickly, remembering the steps that her brain has forgotten. The fabric around her waists twists and twirls as they move to the beat of the music. She steps closer to him and hopes that it helps with the foot height difference.]

Yes yes Terra, just like that!

[once she steps closer it does help a little but he still must lean down to her size. even so, this was fine! he grinned, and laughed as well, as they moved to the rhythm of the music.]

I must say, I love this beat! What a good song!

Me too!

[Terra smiles brightly as they move like fluttering pieces of wrapping paper blowing across the floor. Her skirts swirl and twist around her waist as she moves her hips and legs, following Sidon's enthusiastic lead.]

This is a lot of fun.

[Or perhaps it's Sidon but Terra doesn't remember feeling like this at a dance before, not exactly like this.]

[ It's as Era is eating perhaps a few too many desserts at once to be considered polite that she notices Terra. She's only met the other woman once before, when she picked up her bouquet, but Era has been meaning to speak to her again since then. It just kept slipping her mind to do so.

Once she swallows her mouthful of pastry she calls out softly to Terra. ]

Hello. [ Era offers a smile. ] You look lovely tonight, Terra.

[Terra turns towards the young woman with a warm smile.]

Hello Era.

[She doesn't know Era well but Terra is always looking forward to getting to know those around her. Her situation in Genessia is odd and it's in those small meetings that Terra feels more like herself.]

Thank you. It's nice to see you too.

Are you enjoying yourself?

The food is good.

[ The entire event has been enjoyable, but the highlight has definitely been all of the free, delicious food. ]

And I've met many new people.

Yes. I haven't met too many new people.

[Terra smiles shyly.]

I've been spending most of the evening with Sidon.

[astralera]

[ It's not Era's place to inquire as to the relationship, but she has a general idea if the look on Terra's face is any indication. ]

I'm glad you've been enjoying yourself.

I am.

[Her bright blue eyes glance around the area.]

Did you arrive with anyone?

And hopefully she didn't mind someone who didn't even know what kind of dance they wanted to go with. Honestly what he was taught was more slow than anything seen in clubs or the like, and there was still much about American customs he did not know/care about. Still he does go up to Terra, dressed in a tuxedo that seemed to cover his markings and fit around his horn nicely.

"Terra!" He called out, already at her side and looking her over. "You're looking good. You're date is definitely a lucky guy!" Pause. "...or girl? Honestly I dont think I know them."

"Sidon." Terra offered Naoki her dates name with a happy smile. "He's a very good friend of mine." Her smile widened as a light pink blush spread over the bridge of her nose.

"Um... thank you. You look very handsome too." Her teeth captured her lower lip, nervously worrying at the flesh while her hands smoothed over the thick waves of fabric. "I had promised a dance, if you'd like. I'm not a very good dancer." If she was, she couldn't remember.

Terra was happy to try and dance, if not a little bit nervous too. Though she wouldn't mind stepping towards one of the rooms around the outskirts of the hall where they could still hear the pleasant beat of the music and dance there.

"Don't worry. I'm not the best either; just tried to learn yesterday." And he hope those lessons from Parvati would prove useful.

He moved closer, hand moving on her waist, and the other grabbing her hand. Best if he lead this for both of their sakes. Even if he was used to demonic women being this close, he blushed at Terra being so close.

"Just uh, follow my lead. And don't worry too much about stepping on my toes. I can take it." Better than being stabbed at least.

Terra placed a palm on his shoulder while the other rested lightly in his hand. She smiled up at him and nodded her head. "Okay. I'll try not to step on your toes anyway." She'll slowly remember the steps to the dance as they continued, following a step behind Naoki's lead.

The music was slow enough that they at least didn't fall on each other.
