The Library here was amazing--and Trunks may not be the type most would expect, but he actually kind of liked the building. So many books and subjects, and reading for fun was one of the few things he rarely had time to do. Not that he was entirely reading for fun now, as he's mostly browsing sections related to time travel and multi-dimensional physics...

Rose had asked to be taken flying, and the easiest time to meet and do so was probably during their usual meditation practice before work. Whether she'd talked to Martha or not Trunks was there as usual.

With the heatwave going on, Trunks is making it a priority to check on Ana. He's willing to also add her grocery shopping to his own, so she doesn't have to brave the heat.

Soma was the one who procured Anastasia's ruby circlet, which meant Soma was the one to talk to about how it worked. Just in case it went missing or broke. Because Trunks worried about Ana, and wanted to help, which meant understanding the tools she already head. Good thing he and Soma had gotten along; time to give the other a call.

Various shopping areas for errands

Feel free to run into Trunks at the Farmers Market in Attleton, or Pan Grocery in Genessia. Someone is the responsible adult, and actually glad to not have to scavenge for food anymore. Besides, it's good to have more supplies than not, when there are hungry half-saiyans and saiyans about. He might also be found around the Nova City Scrap Yard, or Sycamore Cycles.

Having a sister is an adjustment, and one usually gets ample warning--not a sudden 15 year old showing up. But Trunks is trying to learn and adjust, and Bulla has asked for training. He's not sure how much he can teach her, but he'll try. Besides, some people wanted demonstrations...

 Good morning, Genessia! If you didn't read the paper then I'm sure you're feeling it, huh? There's a heatwave!

 With all of us coming from different worlds and backgrounds, I'm sure we all have different methods for dealing with the heat. Your air conditioning unites are certainly an option, but I understand they can be expensive and straining on a city's power grid.

So I'd like to suggest we all work together to keep cool!

If you have wind, plant, water, or 'air' related magicks, and would like to help, please let me know! I know a lot of tricks for keeping cool and I can pass them on. I can't pay anyone who helps with money, but I promise to make it worth your while! We can discuss a non-monetary form of payment, okay? Even if you don't have magic, as long as you want to help then I believe you can! 

And if you need help cooling your home or business, let's try to connect each other with someone who can help. We can maybe turn some of our businesses into cooling shelters for a while? It'll be easier to cool a smaller number of places.

[After work, Mikleo decided to make some parfaits for his roommates. It was pretty warm out and it felt like it would be a nice surprise. So they'll find him in the kitchen making them and setting them in the freezer to keep them cool if they're not taken right away. He'll even try to make them how they'd like as much as he can with the stuff he has on hand.

[Lucky's kicked back in a seat in the back of the planetarium, staring up at the ceiling for a moment before looking back at his phone.]

Anybody ever want a birthday that's the complete opposite of what you usually have? Because that's me right now.

[ To say 'it could be worse' would be a lie. Because in this moment - things could literally couldn't get any worse for Rosemary. Not only is she in a strange new place, but it's also the middle of a sunny afternoon and it's hot. She shields herself with her cloak; blocks the sun with it and hides in what shadows she can find, but that does nothing for the sweltering heat that seeps through even that. She's too scared to ask for help — too many people, too much noise, too confusing — in a city she doesn't know, and it's all about to catch up with her at once if she doesn't do something.

Keen eyes can see her skittering in and out of shadows - a hooded figure wrapped in a cloak that seems to encompass most of her form. If not, she won't be hard to miss later when she starts to pass out from heat stroke somewhere (anywhere) in the middle of town. A tall, wobbly figure stumbling from the shadows and slumping nearby. A low, pathetic whimper leaving her as her chest heaves.

This place sucks. ]

[ Whether escorted or simply managing herself to make her way there, Rosemary eventually gets to some kind of water source relatively secluded during the night time hours. This time her hood is down, exposing her wild black hair and what looks like wisps of black smoke that billow around her every so often. She splashes herself with water, sits on the edge and dips her feet in - feet that are bare and look to be hooked with long talon-like nails. Much like the ones one might see now on her fingers, claws that click against the stone around the edge of the fountain.

Any noise startles her. Her head tilting back to see who might be approaching as the swirls of shadow make themselves more obvious, obscuring - but only just - the blackness of her eyes as they hone in on whatever or whoever made the sound. ]

[ A loud clunk, followed by the clear sound of shuffling and banging leads one to believe that someone just dropped their phone and accidentally brought up the network. Which is exactly what happened. There is no follow up however - no apology, and they don't hang up. Instead, there's a low snarl of what might be annoyance, and a softly whispered: ]

[Nothing breeds despair like the drudgery of dealing with Government bureaucracy. It's what had let Junko to so willingly accept a position working for the DMV, watching so many people needing just a tiny push into despair that she's being paid to deliver, even. Okay so it's not the kind of soul-crushing despair she's used to causing but baby steps.

In a rush? Junko will be sure to scrutinise your paperwork very carefully. If you've been particularly vocal about it, she'll be just as thorough with every single person before you in the queue, even potentially allowing someone to fill out replacement documents right there because someone has to show kindness to the poor confused dear. And she is very good at finding all those little mistakes you thought you could get away with.

Of course, with the current heatwave she has all the more means to cause misery. Someone saw fit to leave the controls for the air conditioning with her and that means - when there's no-one else around to contradict her - the air conditioning is suffering brief outages that mean people have to suffer dealing with paperwork and bureaucracy in stifling conditions.

Oh but she does have a fan she can switch on. It'll send paperwork everywhere if you don't have a good hold on it but that's a small price to pay, right? And it's not like Junko isn't suffering from the heat too - it's just that sometimes, suffering is just what she wants. Either way, it's doing nothing to diminish the smile she offers as someone new approaches - polite, servile but with an edge of knowing enjoyment too.]

[Junko's got her device propped up so she can address the network even as she's in the middle of a manicure. She has to take care of her appearance, after all, even if it isn't what earns her most money here in Genessia. But that doesn't mean she can't be sociable. In her own way.]

So do people here really not deal with hot weather all that much? 'Cause if I didn't know better I'd say that was the only think happening around here right now. Soooooo I thought of a fun game we can play: best thing and worst thing that happened this week that doesn't involve weather or politics.

I'll even go first! So the best thing that happened to me this week was dealing with this really scary guy at work. I don't know what he was on but he caused such a scene I thought I wasn't gonna get out of it unscathed! Lucky for me there's this other guy at work who seemed to know him and got him to calm down but that's not a rush I expected to find at a government paper-pushing job like mine.

Aaaaand the worst thing has been the countless stretch of hours dealing with no-one at all because I guess this time of year just isn't that busy on the DMV side of things. I just have one question. How did you all decide where to live? It's probably the most convenient to live where you've found a job, and I'm hoping that won't be too difficult, but all of the cities have a wonderful charm to them. The comforts of the future, the charms of the past, what is, what could be...hell, it might take me the entire month to make a decision.

Clothes Have No Purpose

[Note: when I get off mobile this prompt will be edited so that Espio in his original, lizard form! This is due to a change in policy regarding CRAU-gained forms since my last time in game that I was unaware of. It will be pretty much the same, just with more nudity!]

[Well, Espio's at least half paid attention to what he's been told. The problem is, many months of living in an unstable reality, complete with illusions and unreality pockets that just happen to have included entire cities in the past mean he's frankly quite sure nothing is real anyway. Therefore, what is the point of paying attention?

Now, he could prioritise finding people from Between, who probably are here somewhere just as they were in the last several unreality pockets, or...

Yeah. It's hot. More importantly, that's actual sunshine. Illusion or not, that's something Espio can at least appreciate... which means, rather than do anything else that would be sensible to do, he's just gonna scoot himself up the side of a tall building no reasonable person would climb, find himself a sunny rooftop with convenient shade to duck into when it gets too much, discard half his clothing and chuck himself down to lie on his stomach.

Perfect.

Yes, that does mean he's wearing only a pair of pants with the legs pulled up, but given that he still thinks clothes are unnecessary, the humans around here should be grateful he's kept them on at all.

Look. He might look human, but he's a lizard, and if there's sun you're damn right he's gonna lie in it. Figuring out what this illusion is doing can wait for a bit - they've become almost normal, and they do tend to be a little more pleasant than reality...]

Attleton Colosseum--a few hours after this thread.

The Colosseum was still not his favorite place--but this time Trunks was able to put the cheering crowds and atmosphere out of his mind. Mostly because as much as he wasn't impressed, he did know he shouldn't make stupid mistakes--like being cocky. Normally he wasn't nearly so childish anyways, but Bakugou just used up all his patience--especially when he threatened his friends.

Never mind they were probably idle-threats... Trunks has lost too many friends and too many others. Not that he would do much, beyond knocking the kid out if it came to that.

So as soon as Bakugo gave him a time, Trunks was headed to the colosseum and ready.
