I - SETUP (12:00pm-5:00pm)

For any and all who agreed to help with the decorations, this would be the time to gather at the Hotel. A large list of assignments will be posted on the wall near the entrance, with duties including but not limited to:

1. Setting Tables, including placement of centerpieces
2. Wall and ceiling decorations, involving a lot of gossamer drapery and lights
3. Preparing the buffet table, with a mixture of hot and cold foods, as well as a separate table at the end for delectable deserts
4. Getting all necessary equipment on stage for the Live Band to perform.  Sound Checks may occur throughout.
5. A side dressing room area set up exclusively for those who volunteered to take the time to get ready themselves, including special hair and makeup stations and a large rack to hang their dresses & shoes to change into later

II - HOTEL LOBBY (6:30pm onward)

Cozy and luxurious in its own right, those who arrive before Prom is scheduled to begin will be allowed to lounge in the Hotel Lobby for a spell. Meeting and greeting other early birds and partaking in a select few hors d'oeuvre made available while waiting for the doors to open

 

III. - PROM PHOTOS!

In the far corner of the lobby, a cute backdrop will be set up, ready for any and all couples/groups/brave souls going stag for the evening to take a memorable photograph! Selfies are welcome throughout, but for those desiring a more professional setup, Hikari Yagami will be on hand for the first and last hours of the night for "official" Prom Photos.

IV - EATING/DRINKING

  

With a "bar" consisting of 90% nonalcoholic beverages--the remaining ten percent reserved for of age chaperones--and a buffet table spanning the length of the side wall, there will be no shortage of food options that night!  Hot pasta dishes, cold sandwiches, fruits, vegetable platters, and a special end section devoted to some of the best sweets Genessia's bakeries have to offer!

Of course, what prom would be complete without the traditional Fruit Bowl Punch?  Better get a sip in early, though...because some traditions never die, and it's not like those in charge can keep an eye on that bowl the entire night, can they?

V. - DANCE FLOOR

With a live band (Thank you, Professor!) ready to rock, you'll soon be dancing the night away, under ethereal decorations that will really make you feel like you're dancing among the stars!

In between sets, there will be a DJ spinning a mixture of slow dances, crowd favorites, and songs that'll really get the party rockin' (LMFAO style).

 

VI. - CHAPERONES

 

Because somebody's got to make sure the kids behave.

Hopefully actual adults who can behave themselves.

 

VII. - MINGLING/MISC.
 

What other shenanigans could the teens and tweens of Genessia possible get up to?  The night is young, and so are they~

A. Lobby
[Now that the day of prom is here, Satou feels silly and out of place. She has a little black cat purse on her with loads of Attleton paperwork stored inside, just in case this was all a mistake. Whenever someone she recognizes comes by, she gives a cheery wave and greeting. Just keeping smiling! No one will guess that you're getting nervous!]

B. Lobby / Now with flirting
[As the night wears on, Satou's empathy will eventually kick in. Surrounded by so many lovebirds, she begins soaking up romantic vibes... and then mistaking them for her having random crushes. You might notice her staring at you with a dreamy expression... or, inevitably, beginning to give dove eyes to a flower arrangement.]

Haaah. Nothing can make the beauty of flowers...! If only we could get married. [Please. Help her.]

C. Dance Floor
[She was really hyped about this too...! But as soon as Satou realizes that this isn't classical ballroom dancing, she's a bit bummed.]

Ah... right. Modern... [She sighs.] I guess no one here knows any ballroom dances anyway... Only weirdos like me learn that stuff, huh?

D. Wild Card
[Start anything, and I'll 'yes and' back atcha.]

[Teasing nod!] Everyone wants to marry flowers. But no one ever stops to ask who flowers want to marry. [GRIN!]

[Satou looks back to the flowers, now apologetic,] I haven't been considering their feelings at all..!

[Though, given that her empathy can sense feelings... She corrects herself again a moment later, shoulders sinking with disappointment.]

I don't sense any love from them... Is this truly my one-sided romance hell..?

If it is... you're doing good so far. Flowers can't really reject you, just not be super affectionate back. What you see and smell, that's all you get.

[The answer is "No." She's not okay. She is clearly not in her right mind.]

I guess that's true... This must be how boys with 2D crushes feel. [Satou sighs.] A one-sided love based in art.

Its okay. I only know ballroom dances as well.

Eheh... I'm kind of embarrassed. I talked about dancing with Sync because I'm good at ballroom dancing. Th-This sort of stuff if just going to make me look silly, ne...?

[She refers to the odd dances that are random and not in sync.]

I have heard of a few of these dances, but many just look and sound silly. I mean, what is "twerking?"

[God dammit. There are just somethings that cannot be avoided.]

I do admit, some dances done by boy bands are kind of cool... Have you seen any?

[Satou tilts her head. Isn't that the sound a bird would make?]

Hmm... Maybe they are? I never really paid attention to boy bands. [Though maybe she should? Ana seems to be really into them.] I wonder if it's fun?

We'll start with A, probably gonna work through all of it.

[Sync for his part did show up, and he did actually make an effort for his outfit, though he would never give a reason why, if asked. On spying her, he tossed up a hand in return before coming up.

And immediately looking away.]

[Which given how she didn't settle for just okay last time, he is glad that he was embarrassed enough to correct himself.]

[Satou is briefly a giggly, flustered mess. She knew she could trust him to come, but a part of her was still worried he might decide not to... It feels good when your inner optimist wins a fight.

When he looks back next, she's turned the dress a darker shade of green to match him.]

Ehehe. I don't know. Am I weird if I think we should hit the snacks before all of the good ones get eaten?

[At least her being flustered is giving him time to collect himself so he isn't surprised when he does look back. Remembering her ability to change her clothes, he nods to himself; it is a nice match, and tempting to ask how hard it is to do for other people.]

[It takes her another brief second to collect herself. Though she is trying to keep her empathy in check, it's hard to filter out entire crowds. She's trying to stay consciously aware of the romance in order to avoid being swept by it.]

Plus, I already hit on that flower vase over there... I need to get away from everyone who saw me being a weirdo.

[Ada herself couldn't help but be a tiny bit amused hands sitting in front of her dress and a light chuckle passing by her lips.]

Though people do carry flowers when they get married.

[Satou spins around to face her roomie, eyes sparkling all over again... To her, Ada's beauty has been multiplied. It's pretty easy for her to switch targets from the non-living flowers to the living Ada.

Commence swooning.]

R-Right... Eheh... And they throw the bouquet at the end. A-And whoever catches it... ehehe~!

That's right. That's a tradition, which I don't quite understand.

[What the purpose of it was beyond her, but from what she had managed to see people had fun over it. Sort of.]

[Winry seemed nervous looking at the dance floor. She had never danced before, nor had she danced to... whatever it was that was currently playing. She probably figured to try and move away from the side so not to be much of a bother and maybe head back to the food table.

That seemed like the best place to go and avoid dancing altogether. After all she didn't want to make an idiot of herself really. So she turned to move away before realising at the last moment there was someone right next to her, causing her to bump shoulders.]

Ah, sorry.

Oh-- No problem!

[Satou squeaks, embarrassed to have caused trouble. It doesn't even take her a minute to recognize Winry as Mustang's friend. Which kind of stings, given that the department is down one alchemist.]

Ah um... You're... Winry-san, right?

[She was surprised for a moment. She didn't actually expect someone to know her name like that. But it takes her a brief moment to regain her composer and nodded slightly.]

That is right. Though I didn't know my name was that well known.

B. oh hey.

I'm sorry? [ Oh, girl. You're barking up the wrong tree (flower) right now. There's hardly any sort of romantic vibes off this one when he comes over, dressed in a tux, as you do. He's laughing lightly in amusement. Do you need some help? Was it the punch? It was the punch, wasn't it? ]

I don't think anyone is stopping you. Though there's always the legal tango you'd have to go through to marry a plant.

[Satou spins around to face the mysterious stranger, and to face the reality of his legal advice. She does not appear to be taking it well.]

L-Legal tango? I can barely normal tango! [She peeks back at her new floral lover and whispers sadly.] I've failed you.

[ This poor girl. What the hell did you accidentally have too much of? ]

It was never meant to be, I'm afraid. You'll have to find another lover. [ RIP this beautiful relationship. ] Don't worry though. The only thing that failed you was the world you're both in.

[Well Lea knew that girls liked flowers, but this was a bit weird. Maybe somebody had decided to get a head start on spiking the punch and slipped something into the little snacks being passed around?]

[Help her. Satou wipes her face, devastated over this recent revelation.]

We're star-- no, garden crossed lovers. Why is fate so cruel?

[Aw hell, don't cry now! He's a sucker for girl tears. He kinda awkwardly pats her on the shoulder, trying to comfort her while at the same time wondering what was going on.]

Um... maybe you should sit down for a second or something? Maybe get a drink of water? Because no offense, but I don't think people being in love with flower arrangements is exactly normal in any world...
