Event Log (Finding the Cure)
Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!
Or at least it used to be.
Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.
Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.
The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!
OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!
Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.
If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.
The Attleton Amb-rose-ia
1. The Castle's Treasury- A roller coaster that goes through and under the castle. Ride the roller coaster and reach up to grab a key from the streamers hanging down over the coaster just before the camera. It may take multiple rides to grab one of the keys, as many of the streamers have fake candy keys. Once upon a time, they were safe to eat... though now you probably wouldn't want to unless you want to get even sicker. When you exit the ride, you go through a treasure room where you can use that key to open the wooden cover of the well.
2. The Princess's Carriage- A large ferris wheel with a picture of a carriage on the side. The paint is peeling and the ferris wheel makes large creaks whenever it moves. It'd be nice if you didn't have to try your luck.. but this one is going to require teamwork. The carriage on top must have weight in it in order to open a trap door "beneath the carriage." The trap door leads to a game room where you can blow bubbles at the ferris wheels carts to tease your friends and also contains a well. It looks like it probably couldn't support more than two people at a time anymore, so be careful.
3. Cafe Royale- What was once a cute cafe is now dirty, dingy, and dank. The sign that once had a chalkboard menu with curly-cue handwriting has a huge grafitti over it. There's some kind of mold in the corner and the ceiling is leaking. Rotting ingredients have made the fridge in the back a nightmare to open and there are roaches skittering about the abandoned place like they own it. Even the tuffeted seats have tears and stains on them, and everything is covered in dust. The air is stale when you open the glass doors, and the only thing that seems to have started up with the electricity being turned on is a single, dangling light in the center of the room (the other bulbs had long since cracked) and a quiz game on a tv monitor. The corner of the monitor seems to be cracked, so there's a 3 inch chunk of the TV that's just white light, but the rest seems to be displaying correctly. The remotes for answering are behind the counter, get ten questions right and the door to the kingdom's royal courtyard will open for guests to enjoy their treats in the beauty and majesty of flowers befitting a princess! Of course, it's overrun by weeds by now.
locked to Anastasia Leonheart
When Abel heard that the only cure is available in the amusement park of Attleton, of course he has to answer the call, he's a priest, and helping people is what he wished to do with no expectation in return. However, upon arrival to the run down theme park, his courage started to falter. What to do? Where to start? He have heard of the mayor's warnings of the cure and the wells.
He sits at one of the park benches, trying to figure out a plan. As they say, it's no easy walk in the park.

1. The Castle's Treasury [OTA]
What a blast! Or would be; the bumps and totters of the roller coaster are numb to him, though he's excited, looking at the mason-work and admiring the medieval decor. When he gets to the end, he's baffled that there was a key to find at all.]
"...What? We're meant to reach out and grab them?" [Bafflement gave way to eagerness. They usually meant for hands to stay inside the cart. This would be fun! Or as much fun as you could have when all your nerves were shot. He'd try again, though he's having a hard time even seeing the keys, let alone catching them. Looks like he's gonna be on this coaster for a while.
Ted's oblivious enough as it is; and asking him to pluck any key, candy or no, was a tall order. Help a fool out.]

The Princess's Carriage - OTA
But he only liked heights when he had something safe and stable to stand on. As he put his hand on the carriage and pushed, the accompanying creaking noise made him jump back. Grabbing his staff and tilting his head back, he gazed up at the carriages dangling precariously in the air. He certainly didn't want to be up there, but he would have to do something to move on.
Anyone who happened upon the area would see a very concerned looking mage staring doubtfully at the ferris wheel. He wasn't paying much attention to anything else around him.

The Castle's Treasury w/ Dave [closed]
But not being there wasn't an option. It wasn't just him that needed what this place could offer. Dave needed it too, and a lot more desperately. Not being able to feel things was horrible, but not seeing was unquestionably worse. It was a lot easier to convince himself to go through with whatever came next when he had that kind of reason. Besides, they really couldn't afford another tumble down the stairs.
With help of another pair of hands he'd borrowed the bell from the cat's collar so Dave could hear when he moved, but it was also helpful to have it on his arm so that he could be aware of when Dave moved away from holding onto him. Jefferson eyed the roller coaster they were standing in front of for a few moments before looking down at Dave. ]
Do you really think this is the best option?
[ He had said so, but --
Well, that whole thing had been confusing. ]

Cafe Royale - Open
The smell overwhelmed the poor young girl as she quickly covered up her nose and even her mouth to attempt to get the smell to not come in. But however it was too strong, causing the young girl to quickly moved away from the area to try and gasp at fresh air and trying not to vomit before attempting again.
She time she at least knew that she shouldn't open the fridge. But she knew she was going to keep trying. When she looked at the monitor and the remotes she had finally spotted, she figured she should really get to figuring it out.
It was just another game after all. At least a different type of game.]

Better to think of this as a fun adventure and see what happens.
If she can grab someone to follow her, or latch onto someone else who seems uncertain, all the better.]
All right! Let's get this wheel a-runnin'!
[Forgive her if she's a touch louder than normal. She doesn't have much internal volume control right now.
Once they actually get into the game room, she's going to need someone to push her into getting the water. Why so? Because there are bubbles, and Ibuki is having way too much fun with the bubbles to really remember why she's there.]

Jade actually won the key to well's cover with Ted on day one, so there is no need for him to ride the roller coasters. However, he returns to the amusement park on day 2 to help others who need healing. Ideal for people who are deaf or blind or with whatever sickness. For this prompt, Jade is completely healed from his quest from yesterday.
Scenerio 2, The Princess carriage
Jade's loss of sensation is slowly returning after having drunk from a few wells. He came upon this part of the theme park where there is a large ferris wheel and he looked up at the huge towering mechanism. He have heard from the other teams that there is a trap door that can only be opened by a second person, but Jade is alone, and he might need help of another....
Scenerio 3, Cafe Royale
Jade came upon a dirty dingy cafe which he looks and peered into the window from the outside, and he loss his appetite completely by looking at the sight of it. He have there is a well here, but it's not easily accessible by anyone because of this quiz...but more likely nobody has the patient to get to his well because of the infesting roaches and rats, and there was this...distinct rotting food smell like nobody cleared out the garbage in forever.
Still, if there is a well, Jade is willing to find out if it's true.

Abel returned to the amusement park again, and this time he's cleared of his cold and he's healed. Why he returns? To see if he can help more people to save the town. He came upon this roller coaster ride on this side of the amusement park, but he have heard from the other teams that finding the key is real difficult, and very, very few have found the real key.
Well, the sight of the roller coaster made him feel apprehensive. It's look scary. But Abel wanted to win the key to gain victory for the town and for all.
Scenerio 2, day two
Abel actually knew of the Princess Carriage secret trapdoor, as discovered with Anastasia on day one. However, he wouldn't mind helping the person who needs access to the well to get healed, but that require someone to be inside the carriage to open the trap door, and this is a game that requires for two.
Scenerio 3, day two
He heard of a well that is hidden by an old, abandon rundown cafe, but it was smelly and disgusting in the inside, and nobody dare to brave it to get to the well. Very few discovered it, and some say it's not worth. Not only that, it's infested with roaches and rats, which is why Abel avoided it.
However, desperate times call for desperate measures. How desperate are you for the cure? Maybe you want to take advantage of the Priest's kindness or you're in need of his help. Abel will help. It's not like he will turn anyone away.

Cafe Royale
Shit.
He's gone through possibly hundreds of these dumb things. Occasionally he gets one that he's heard before and knows the answer to, but you have to get ten in a row and his longest streak so far is a whopping three.
So he's taking a break. He's spread out across the bar, arms hanging limp on one side, legs hanging limp on the other, dorsal fin sticking straight up in the air. Cut him up and serve him on rice, he's done.
The screen above blares its most recent question without relent:
What is big and yellow and comes in the morning, to brighten mom's day?
He's pretty sure the answer isn't "That old Butterflyfish-type Merman from down the road" because for one thing- no. For another thing? Ew no. His Ma's a tramp and that's fine, but he'll be damned if he's gonna think about her that way. Gross.
Someone please come save him.]

The Amberyllis
1. Froggy Fezboar's Dining Adventure- Food and a show! If you're looking for something a little more substantial than the froofy light treats of the Cafe Royale, Froggy Fazboar's was the place to be! A two-story rootin' tootin' forest diner with tree stumps for seats and hardwood picnic tables even inside. There's a boar's head on the wall that seems to be falling apart, but what's most important is that there are a bunch of talking animals around to entertain! The three stars on the stage in the back of the restaurant are animatronics- a large boar with a fez, a golden goose with a bib that says "TIME TO EAT!", and a red wolf with an eyepatch. Normally when you enter, another character- a blue donkey with a red tie- moves up to the door to wave at you.. but time has a funny way of playing tricks, so upon entrance the donkey will jerk forward suddenly, its large teeth almost smacking you in the face as its voice shrieks with static instead of saying any friendly words. In the backroom, there appears to be another type of boar with red stains that's all mangled up that's out of commission. None of the lights work in the restaurant and it sounds like there's something moving around in the background, but overall it seems like you'll be able to do a scavenger hunt in this one to find a possession of each of the animatronics to complete a spell to turn them human again.. though maybe they were turned into animals for a reason. When you put all four items into the pot, it opens up a door to the wishing well so you can get a magical cure for yourself to save you from any potential fairy dust mishaps!
2. Fairy Flight. Have you ever been ziplining? Have you ever wanted to? The only way to get to this well is to zipline through the trees. Each of the zipline harnesses have fairy wings on the back and it will take you to a special fairy spring where water shoots out of special grates in the floor- and the location of the wishing well.
3. Cooky Carousel. Even more talking animals!? When does it end! The carousel appears that it used to work, but it doesn't anymore. Maybe there's some way you can get it to turn manually, since the door to the wishing well will only open if the carousel makes a full turn.

... Not that Blaze is any stranger to danger either. He approached one of the harnesses and looked it over, noting that particular harness had a partially missing right wing. Of course the one he looked at had to be like that. If these wings had any direct affect on the stability of the harness, then hopefully 'Solo Wing'ing it wouldn't be an issue.]

3 Cooky Carousel, OTA
Except nothing's moving. It takes her a moment or five to realise nothing's moving because she's too busy pretending her horse is real and they're riding through a fancy countryside. Which might mean someone has to point out it's not working in the first place.

1. Froggy Fezboar's - locked to Alley and Cole
Which, with the Inquisitor, meant fight.
So it was that she punched the animatronic right in its big, clacky teeth, her armored fist snapping several teeth inward as the fake donkey shrieked its staticky welcome. Alley snarled at it, showing her own teeth, and shined the flashlight strapped to her prosthetic left arm at the defunct robot.
"Well, this is fucking charming," she said, far too loud, to her spirit companion.

Froggy Fezboar's - OTA
He pushed open the door and casually stepped inside. A huge, terrifying donkey-thing leapt out in front of him. It's giant maw was just inches from his face when it opened it's mouth. He nearly fell backwards. His heart somersaulted and his hair stood on end. It's mouth moved like it was talking, but screeching static came out.
Letting out a terrified scream, he bolted out of there, possibly knocking into the nearest person who thought to explore the diner.

What is this? It looks like...an old run down diner? This looks like bad news. With the robot animals lurking in the corner, searching for the well in this place will take a lot of patience. With none of the lights working, he has to rely on the daylight streaming through the windows.
Scenerio 2
He came upon a forest with cables, pulleys, and fairy wings coming of the harness, and there's a steep hill of many trees. Could there be a well hidden at the bottom? Jade wanted a ride to find out.
Scenerio 3
Jade came upon a carasousel, but it's not working. He's not a very tech-ish person, but he knew something about machines. If he examine some parts of it, maybe he can get it to work.

She is either sitting on the roof, waiting to jump down and surprise whoever approaches or hidden among the animatronics on stage, transformed into a black dog with floppy ears and a huge smile. Like her position on the roof, she's just waiting for someone to come by so she can lunge at them.

The Purpleurum
1. The Chocolate Cavern. This log flume seems like a blast! Coloring was added to the water to make it look like chocolate, and colorful candy characters can be found alongside the water through a Small World-esque musical scene. Unfortunately, whatever was used to make them look like chocolate seems to have separated so now it just looks like dirty water, but it should run... There seems to be a special area in the chocolate cavern called the Rock Candy Gift Shop about halfway through the flume where people used to be able to purchase rock candy while going through the ride. The rock candy was made using a special wishing well within the Gift Shop and only the adventuorous could get this one..
2. Lolli Labyrinth. A maze! Find your way through a labyrinth made of hardcandy lollipops of various heights. The maze is surprisingly large, so it may take a while. When you get to the end, there's a wishing well.
3. Sugar Rush. This is one of those scrambler rides, but it looks like it's been wholly overgrown. Riding it isn't an option, so for this one it may be a matter of figuring out something technical. This is a very good option for the techies who can get the control booth to trigger the mechanism that's similar to simon-says. Normally it won't start without the ride moving, but if you can complete the simon says light sequence (red, green, blue, yellow in whatever order it says) the ticket to get into the secret well area will come out. It's hard to imagine this was easy to do while the ride was actually spinning you...
Lolli Labyrinth - OTA
But, Bracken knew how to get through such a maze quick. The place seemed to be falling apart, so he left out his earth magic - no need to cause any earthquakes here. Instead, he stood by the entrance and began summoning up his wind magic, creating a dangerously fast whirlwind that he could use to tear the lollipops down and force his own path through.

The Faster Aster
1. A train? The sign for this train has been so deteriorated it's hard to see what its name once was, though the "Buy Tickets Here!" sign on the booth is still there. The train itself seems to have been upended by the Faster Aster flowers and won't run, but it looks like there used to be some kind of cowboy show on it based on the flower-covered horseshoes and Western-esque decor that can be found if you pull some of the flowers up. The trick here might be following the tracks to find out where the train was going to find the wishing well.
2. Happy Heights Aviary One peculiar area seems to have a well out in the open. How easy to get to that one! Or not. This was supposed to be the easy-access well when the park was open, but since it's gone to the dogs, the aviary has changed. The birds are no longer used to people and are very territorial of anything above the flowers. It may be quite the mission to get to the well while hiding from the birds, unless you have another idea.
3. High Seas Ahoy! The one part in this area where there aren't any Faster Asters is High Seas Ahoy-- a bumper boats ride! Score 5 points against another bumper boat and the secret passage way to the well will open.. drive on in through a waterfall, but be careful- since it's been abandoned, fish and crocs have moved into the water. Maybe you'll see them, maybe you won't.. All of the bumper boats are decorated with pirate-themed fare and each has a different pirate flag that will go up when you score 5 points. When the flag is up, it will use a bluetooth connection to open the door. The Faster Asters near the water's edge seem to be glowing in the water- it looks like they only glow when wet.
Open to anyone
In his exploration, and quest for a well, there is a well out in the open! It seems the well is up for grabs, right? Easy work, easy access, and the mission to cure the town is very much well in sight.
Except there is one or...actually many problems.
Birds. Lots of birds. Evil looking wicked birds. Many birds, many birds. But they are actually normal looking birds. An Alfred Hitchcock nightmare. And they're guarding the well.
Abel is a pacifists. It's not like it's very tempting to take out his gun and shoot them just to win the well....but Abel...Abel is sorely tempted. Would it be a sin to sacrifice a life of a bird or to save the lives of many by curing the humans?
