Wanted: Fashion Disasters

An up and coming project requires people who want to improve their clothing line among other things. People who offer will, of course, be ending up on television and you'll be getting free stuff that would usually cost a lot.

[When that was done he switched back to not being anon to make an announcement of his own. He was sitting in his apartment surrounded by fabric. Since his roommate left, Kaoru seemed to be spreading his work around the place.]

Hey, so it's been a while since I last made a public post like this. But I had been working on something for a new line of clothing using fabrics I've never used before. So I took as much time as I could to get a hand on it.

But I am at least confident to at least announce that I can now create clothing for those who do a lot of work like fighting and bounties. Things like that. So if you need clothing that suits those needs, let me know.

[He gave a small smile.] Also I am working on another business, but again, that is a work in progress. I will say something when that is ready.

[Kaoru was currently standing behind what appeared to be a set up for a photoshoot, Kaoru himself was making sure that his hair was perfect, styling it in the mirror.]

You would think for someone whose job was to do hair they would get the style correct. They used a little too much spray, it will take ages to sort out.

[He sighed slightly before moving to pick up the device.]

So hey, guess what? All of my training paid off in the idol department and I can officially call myself a celebrity and an actual idol instead of in training. I wonder if Ai-Senpai would be happy knowing I managed it. [He paused for a moment.] Though he never smiled, so probably not.

[Back onto the task at hand, however as he put a free hand through his hair ruffling it slightly.] But because of that, my business and a little something I am working on, I haven't really had a lot of free time to do much else. But my little something should be done soon and I will be potentially looking for someone who has experience with hair. [A pause.] I had to put another idea on the back burner because of it, but I will get to that one eventually too.

[He soon hears the voice of the photographer as he turned his head to look over.] I'll be a minute, I have to sort out my hair. It just doesn't work with this outfit. [He turned back to the device.] But since I was out of the loop did anything interesting happen in the past week or so?

It seems that January 1st is the beginning of a new year here as it is back home. I was not able to wish anyone a merry solstice and happy Yule, but I would like to wish all of you a very happy new year. May good fortune and even greater health befall you and yours.

Also... [Aurora turned and gave a knowing, if somewhat disapproving look towards her parliament of owls that are smart enough to look bashful.] I must deeply apologize as I find myself in excess of cloaks and coats and scarves that are most certainly not mine and I believe were taken by my feathery friends.

If you are missing a coat, scarf, or cloak, please let me know and I will have one of my owls return it to you and you have my sincerest apologies for causing you any discomfort this winter.

Roland can't just sit still in his apartment when people outside could be in danger, so he heads out to at least try to thin the numbers of the creatures. Soon enough, he finds someone being menaced by fair few snow beasts.]

Hey! Over here!

[He waves, the call being as much for the benefit of the would-be prey as it is to attract the snow monsters' attention. He runs between them and the creatures, then makes an odd motion with his hand -- pulling it against his chest in a fist, then extending it out toward them like a ruler on a balcony waving to the crowd below. The monsters are thrown back, as if by some invisible force. While they're still climbing back to their feet, Roland summons a fantastic-looking sword to his hand and gets into a combat stance, the sword guarding his face. He calls back:]

Are you okay?

Goodness, these will be strange questions to ask one after another, but...

Beginning light. I'm quite interested in buying some property and starting an art collection. Would anyone know which city would be safest for that? Owning art makes one a target for thieves, but I'm not sure which of the cities has the lowest crime rate...

And does anyone here paint?

[He pauses, as if considering that he might end the video there. It would be ideal to just come off as an art lover, but there's a slightly more pressing matter. It's the reason why Eliot is wrapped in thick blankets and wearing coats at the same time.]

... It's also snowing. I need to work hard to maintain my business. Umm. Anyone interested in being a branch manager? [Okay, that's not actually the solution that he's needing to ask for.

Eliot is freezing, because his vampire body doesn't regulate his own body temperature very well. He's been fine during the warmer seasons, but all of this snow is pushing his limits. It's just not easy to ask for living blood. He knows he'll just get directed to a blood bank or artificial maker.]

And sooo. I'm also... uhh. As a vampire, in the winter, with it snowing all of the time... That is... [There's another pause, before he gives up entirely.] I need warm winter clothes~. Does anyone want to go shopping with me?

[Since Kyoya left Kaoru had mostly stuck to working alone in his office, only coming out to deal with meetings or to go home, rest and eat and on the occasion he got one a modelling or idol job which usually involved with senpai.

However recently Kaoru had noticed his teacher didn't turn up to the last job and after checking the device he understood why right away. He wasn't around anymore. Another person he would consider a friend gone. It was a hard blow and he was gone back to designing and trying to think of what his next step would be. So he had the device on and seeing if he could maybe figure out what to do.]

So... how does one handle when people close to them vanish? Like... I assume people leaving is normal so I am just curious as to what others do when people they care about vanish.

[He had stopped draw, putting the pencil down. He figured he should do something else maybe.]

I am also still considering what my next steps will be career-wise. I am still going to be a designer, obviously, but with Ai-senpai having vanished, I'm not sure if I want to keep continuing on as an idol in training. I don't think I would like anyone else as a teacher.

[He sighed slightly, closing his notebook.]

But ntil then if anyone wants an outfit for the holiday season, please let me know. It will help.

[ Hannah is sitting in her room, having clearly just settled in after finding herself in The Bay. She looks more than a little ticked off, but is trying to hide it. She's failing. ]

Okay great so this isn't as truly awful as it could be, don't get me wrong, I get that but this whole - whackadoodle thing, I mean. The fuck am I supposed to do now?

[ She glances down, thumbing through the pamphlet and playing with the necklace. Taking a deep breath, she looks back up at the camera. ] So this is really, like...a permanent thing, eh? I'm just...here. For good.


[ The young woman sighs, shaking her head. She bites her lip in thought, gazing into the middle distance for a quick moment. ] Okay then. Fine. I can play this game. So, who all's hiring?

Welcome
Though the evening outside is chilly, there’s nothing but warmth and lively atmosphere inside. The room itself (the ballroom atop the self proclaimed ‘most romantic and luxurious’ Genessian getaway) is almost blinding, glittering with gold from floor to ceiling, save for the towering framed windows that provide a beautiful sight of the city below. Tables are scattered here and there around the perimeter should attendees wish to rest their feet, but the centerpiece of the evening seems to be the massive, sparkling chandelier casting its warm, golden glow over a rather extensive dance floor. One end of the room is reserved for the band, poised just near the hearth featuring a roaring fire, while the other showcases a grand staircase on which one may make their entrance, should they choose to explore the upper lofts that surround the room beforehand.

Early in the evening, once the room has begun to fill, a couple steps up to welcome everyone on behalf of Genessia’s Performing Arts Center and the cast of their most recent musical. While the event is free, and they are delighted to be able to share a magnificent evening of splendor with everyone, they do wish to make everyone aware that should they choose to donate tonight, be it through benevolent gift or through the auction or gambling tables, all proceeds will be donated to the Red House Foundation- more specifically, Genessia’s branch, located in the heart of the city herself.
The call to enjoy the masquerade is punctuated with a deep bow and the swell of the band picking up once more to lead everyone into a night of majestic merriment.


Photos
With numerous celebrities about and the event in full swing, it’s to no one’s surprise that there are photographers practically crawling the place. Fortunately for all, quite a few have been hired by the event planning team and will be snapping moments (both candid and posed) of everyone in attendance. There’s even a designated area with various props to play with and a lovely backdrop doused in gold. These photos can be downloaded from the network later, so take advantage of these professionals, should your heart desire! After all, did one really look their best if there’s no photo to prove it?


Dancing
While there’s certainly no pop star performing and the music is much more classically suited, one will hear a familiar tune more often than not, spun by the tuxedo clad musicians to suit a more modern crowd. It’s upbeat and energetic for the most part, but every so often, they're likely to switch the mood to something much smoother (dare they say, romantic?) to sway to. Instructors are scattered throughout the crowd, should those unfamiliar with the ballroom style wish to learn something new!


Food
A party without food is absurd, regardless of the occasion. Drink flows readily from the bar, and an impressive variation of hors d’oeuvre has been laid out in a brilliant spread on the long tables along the edges of the room. Partake as you will, and leave a donation to show your appreciation if you’re so inspired!


Costume Parade
What’s the point of a masquerade without an outfit promenade? Show off your inspired attire to all who will gaze upon you. The more flamboyant, the more attention your costume will draw, and the more in-character one seems, the more believable the evening will be- Embrace the masks and let loose! Tonight is the night to be whoever (or whatever) your heart desires.


Gambling/Auction
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, there are multiple donated items on which to bid, ranging from weekend getaways to baskets of sweets to… rather peculiar fashion and odd home decor.
To the right of the auction display, there are multiple gaming tables with waiting croupier, ready to assist those with heavy wallets attempt to woo Lady Luck. The winnings (should there be any) can be kept or donated- the choice is yours.


Gardens
If one finds a need to escape the swirling of dance and swell of the music, the gardens below may serve you well. There’s a lovely courtyard, and just beyond the fountain, a garden maze, well lit for the season with the gentle glow of dazzling lights. Take a stroll alone, or hide away with a lover or confidant, or snag a seat for the fireworks- the choice is yours.


Fireworks
No grand gala ever ended without a burst of excitement to round out the evening. Toward the end of the evening, the sky will be lit with a brilliant display of silvers and golds, all timed perfectly with the band’s final performance. One can watch from the gardens or the rooftop, or, if in need of something more ~private~, the balconies throughout the hotel.

She looks to the camera with a calm expression, even as her hands were blurred by the sheer supernatural speed it was moving, and sewing together a dress it seemed ]

Hello, Genessia. I will make this quick, but if you are interested in attending the upcoming masquerade ball and have nothing to wear yet, perhaps I can be of assistance. I will make your attire in exchange for a bit of money. Less than one would normally pay elsewhere, and just to cover the costs of the fabric I bought. Or in exchange for a simple favor I could ask for in the future.

[ The corners of her lips tugged to show a hint of mischief in her words but it was brief and subtle. She finishes the dress in her hand, giving people a preview of her skill. Having had fashion businesses here in the past, Ayame certainly knows her craft, which she hoped to be evident in how the dress is put together ]

If you are interested, just come to Amatsu Inn in Fayren. Where I will be for the rest of the day and evening.

[While she'd rather have her regular powers back, Bulla's actually enjoying herself with her new abilities. She begins her demonstration with a snap of her fingers. In an instant, a new outfit appears over the t-shirt and shorts she was wearing a moment ago.]

I'm not sure of exactly why I can do this or how long these changes are going to last, but I wanted to offer new clothes to people whose clothes don't fit properly anymore due to their changes.

Otherwise, she'll just be interacting with people via this video post and will make clothes appear on your character if they decide to take her up on the offer. The clothing will last for the duration of the event, but can be removed/washed etc)

So... this will be my first weird event this world has given me I believe, so... Interesting choice. Works with Halloween coming up and all, but that isn't why I am using the device and struggling. Claws are not the most stylish, they are annoying.

[Sure it was just extremely sharp nails like claws, but it made it harder to use the device as he fiddles with it. Soon the feed stops shaking.]

But because of what appears to be physical changes in people I have decided that Devilish Designs will work on clothes for those who need it for a discount since I assume this isn't permanent. So if you need a new set of clothing, let me know, okay? I'll be happy to work on it in between exploring whatever has happened to me.

Action; All cities; All days
[Kaoru really didn't know what to expect when he woke up with a new look. Horns, leathery wings, claws that were basically his fingernails. He knew what he was at that moment and honestly... If his friends were here they would have thought it oddly accurate.

So for the week, Kaoru will be doing the demon thing that he is drawn to do, causing sins to happen. 19th the first day he decided to go for the sin of Envy on the 20th the sin of Gluttony. The 21st was the sin of Greed. When the 22nd roll around the next choice was Lust. With only three sins that he had used on people yet the choice on the 23rd seemed obvious. The young man decided on Pride. He knew that he had been testing things out for the past five days and so far they had mixed results, some good, some bad, but mostly interesting. The final two Sloth and Wrath were saved for the last two days he was going to willing test things out on the days of 24th and 25th.]

Once Faye has acquired some clothing - a couple of cute outfits from some of Gale's model collection - she is ready to explore. Being Barbie-sized isn't great fun, it turns out, but she does like being able to fly. It takes some time to get any distance, but over the days of the curse, she will be zipping around Nova, seeking out the gardens, and spending a lot of time in Genessia Park among the flowers. Flying is fun, and so is spying on others. Annoyingly, however, she also seems to have gained a cute little giggle along with her fairy body.

[Here's a face you might have seen a lot more of lately, given that she's one of the New Big Things on the modelling scene. Even Ann herself is not sure what's changed, but she's determined to make the most of it.

And of course, with Halloween coming up there's been a lot of call for costumed shoots as different stores compete for the buying public's attention. And that's what leads Ann to posting here, sat in what appears to be some sort of dressing room area with a rail full of different costumes behind her.

She's currently clad in a black catsuit, a headband with cat ears perched on her head - apparently Lady Feline is still one of the most popular options around here. Which would also explain why she has a whip in her hands - and based on her grip, it's not the first time she's held one.]

So, here's a question. Does anyone have any skills that people automatically make assumptions about? Because I think I've already run out of ways today to explain that just because I know how to hold a whip properly, I must have some secret double life as a dominatrix or something.

[They're not even wrong about the double life part, to be fair.

She lifts her gaze, then, from looking pensively at the whip to facing the camera more directly.]

Oh and just to let people know, I'm not a matchmaker any more. But Minako-chan still has some great people working for her so go hit them up if you need help finding that special someone.

[She looks like she might have wanted to say something more, but then someone calls for her and she's reaching to switch off the feed with a Just a minute in response to that call.]

[Anyone who’s spoken to Bulla for more than five minutes will know that there’s something off about her when she turns on the network post. The small smile she offers the network doesn’t reach her eyes and seems to be more of an automatic gesture rather than a sincerely happy smile.]

The Dream Docks sure are interesting. I thought I'd get memories of home, but instead I got memories of another world.

[That’s one way to describe all the memories that have flooded her mind. Memories that somehow happened at the same time as other ones.]

I’d love to hear from anyone who has multiversal experience. This is now multiverse number three for me. Weird, huh?

[Like her smile, her cheer doesn’t seem genuine so much as it’s just going through the motions to pretend that she’s okay.]

[Kaoru got the building, which was one step towards his business goal. But the young man was finding himself standing in front of various dummies, all with nothing on it right now. He was trying to think of what the best clothing choices would be to be viewed in the window. But so far he couldn't think of what would work the best and what would draw people in.

With a small sigh passing by his lips, he soon went into his pocket to pull out his device, quickly flicking through it to a certain name. He knew of one person that he felt like could help him more than anything. So with a quick message asking if she wanted to come to Devilish Designs to help him with something he found himself going around and setting up some tea and snacks while he waited.]

Closed to Minako
[He hadn't forgotten about taking Minako out to karaoke. He had felt bad about not doing it soon after the carnival. But he had needed to finish off a few things to the outfit and actually learn how to wrap it in the best way possible by himself. He found it to be an achievement on his end, even if it still looked like a mess.

But it was done and he had been looking at his phone for a moment before heading to check if she was either at her apartment or place of business. He figured he might as well surprise her with it now at least.]

[With things starting to come along business wise with a few little things left to decide all he had to do now was simply advertise for both business in general as well as letting people know there are jobs available.

So he was currently walking around Genessia handing out leaflets all the while smiling.]
